הָאֱלֹהִים֙ God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm ה֚וּא . . . hū יַעֲשֶׂ֤ה does ya·‘ă·śeh יִהְיֶ֣ה endures forever yih·yeh לְעוֹלָ֔ם . . . ; lə·‘ō·w·lām אֵ֣ין nothing ’ên לְהוֹסִ֔יף can be added lə·hō·w·sîp̄ עָלָיו֙ to it ‘ā·lāw לִגְרֹ֑עַ or taken liḡ·rō·a‘ וּמִמֶּ֖נּוּ from it . ū·mim·men·nū אֵ֣ין . . . ’ên וְהָאֱלֹהִ֣ים God wə·hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm עָשָׂ֔ה does [it] ‘ā·śāh שֶׁיִּֽרְא֖וּ so that they should fear še·yir·’ū מִלְּפָנָֽיו׃ Him . mil·lə·p̄ā·nāw Ecclesiastes 3:15 מַה־ What exists mah- כְּבָ֣ר has already kə·ḇār ה֔וּא . . . hū שֶּֽׁהָיָה֙ been , še·hā·yāh וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר and what wa·’ă·šer לִהְי֖וֹת will be lih·yō·wṯ כְּבָ֣ר has already kə·ḇār הָיָ֑ה been , hā·yāh וְהָאֱלֹהִ֖ים for God wə·hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm יְבַקֵּ֥שׁ will call to account yə·ḇaq·qêš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נִרְדָּֽף׃ what has passed . nir·dāp̄ Ecclesiastes 3:16 וְע֥וֹד Furthermore , wə·‘ō·wḏ רָאִ֖יתִי I saw rā·’î·ṯî תַּ֣חַת under ta·ḥaṯ הַשָּׁ֑מֶשׁ the sun haš·šā·meš מְק֤וֹם that in the place mə·qō·wm הַמִּשְׁפָּט֙ of judgment ham·miš·pāṭ שָׁ֣מָּה there is šām·māh הָרֶ֔שַׁע wickedness , hā·re·ša‘ וּמְק֥וֹם and in the place ū·mə·qō·wm הַצֶּ֖דֶק of righteousness haṣ·ṣe·ḏeq שָׁ֥מָּה there is šām·māh הָרָֽשַׁע׃ wickedness . hā·rā·ša‘ Ecclesiastes 3:17 אֲנִי֙ I ’ă·nî אָמַ֤רְתִּֽי said ’ā·mar·tî בְּלִבִּ֔י in my heart , bə·lib·bî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים “ God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm יִשְׁפֹּ֖ט will judge yiš·pōṭ הַצַּדִּיק֙ the righteous haṣ·ṣad·dîq וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- הָ֣רָשָׁ֔ע the wicked , hā·rā·šā‘ כִּי־ since kî- עֵ֣ת there is a time ‘êṯ לְכָל־ for every lə·ḵāl חֵ֔פֶץ activity ḥê·p̄eṣ וְעַ֥ל . . . wə·‘al כָּל־ and every kāl- הַֽמַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה deed ham·ma·‘ă·śeh שָֽׁם׃ . . . . ” šām Ecclesiastes 3:18 אֲנִי֙ I ’ă·nî אָמַ֤רְתִּֽי said ’ā·mar·tî בְּלִבִּ֔י to myself , bə·lib·bî עַל־ “ As for ‘al- דִּבְרַת֙ . . . diḇ·raṯ בְּנֵ֣י the sons bə·nê הָאָדָ֔ם of men , hā·’ā·ḏām הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm לְבָרָ֖ם tests them lə·ḇā·rām וְלִרְא֕וֹת so that they may see wə·lir·’ō·wṯ שְׁהֶם־ for themselves šə·hem- הֵ֖מָּה that they hêm·māh לָהֶֽם׃ . . . lā·hem בְּהֵמָ֥ה are but beasts . ” bə·hê·māh Ecclesiastes 3:19 כִּי֩ For kî מִקְרֶ֨ה the fates miq·reh בְֽנֵי־ vvv ḇə·nê- הָאָדָ֜ם of [both] men hā·’ā·ḏām וּמִקְרֶ֣ה [and] ū·miq·reh הַבְּהֵמָ֗ה beasts hab·bə·hê·māh וּמִקְרֶ֤ה . . . ū·miq·reh אֶחָד֙ are the same ’e·ḥāḏ לָהֶ֔ם : lā·hem זֶה֙ As one zeh כְּמ֥וֹת dies , kə·mō·wṯ כֵּ֣ן so kên מ֣וֹת dies mō·wṯ זֶ֔ה the other — zeh לַכֹּ֑ל they all lak·kōl
