מָתַ֥י When mā·ṯay אָקִ֑יץ can I wake up ’ā·qîṣ אֲבַקְשֶׁ֥נּוּ to search for ’ă·ḇaq·šen·nū א֝וֹסִ֗יף another ’ō·w·sîp̄ עֽוֹד׃ drink ? ” ‘ō·wḏ Proverbs 24:1 אַל־ Do not ’al- תְּ֭קַנֵּא envy tə·qan·nê רָעָ֑ה wicked rā·‘āh וְאַל־ . . . wə·’al- בְּאַנְשֵׁ֣י men bə·’an·šê תִּתְאָו or desire tiṯ·ʾå̄w לִהְי֥וֹת their company lih·yō·wṯ אִתָּֽם׃ . . . ; ’it·tām Proverbs 24:2 כִּי־ for kî- לִבָּ֑ם their hearts lib·bām יֶהְגֶּ֣ה devise yeh·geh שֹׁ֭ד violence , šōḏ שִׂפְתֵיהֶ֥ם and their lips śip̄·ṯê·hem תְּדַבֵּֽרְנָה׃ declare tə·ḏab·bê·rə·nāh וְ֝עָמָ֗ל trouble . wə·‘ā·māl Proverbs 24:3 בְּ֭חָכְמָה By wisdom bə·ḥā·ḵə·māh בָּ֑יִת a house bā·yiṯ יִבָּ֣נֶה is built yib·bā·neh וּ֝בִתְבוּנָ֗ה and by understanding ū·ḇiṯ·ḇū·nāh יִתְכּוֹנָֽן׃ it is established ; yiṯ·kō·w·nān Proverbs 24:4 וּ֭בְדַעַת through knowledge ū·ḇə·ḏa·‘aṯ חֲדָרִ֣ים its rooms ḥă·ḏā·rîm יִמָּלְא֑וּ are filled yim·mā·lə·’ū כָּל־ with every kāl- יָקָ֣ר precious yā·qār וְנָעִֽים׃ and beautiful wə·nā·‘îm ה֖וֹן treasure . hō·wn Proverbs 24:5 חָכָ֥ם A wise ḥā·ḵām גֶּֽבֶר־ man ge·ḇer- בַּע֑וֹז [is] strong , ba·‘ō·wz וְאִֽישׁ־ and a man wə·’îš- דַּ֝֗עַת of knowledge da·‘aṯ מְאַמֶּץ־ enhances mə·’am·meṣ- כֹּֽחַ׃ his strength . kō·aḥ Proverbs 24:6 כִּ֣י Only kî בְ֭תַחְבֻּלוֹת with sound guidance ḇə·ṯaḥ·bu·lō·wṯ תַּעֲשֶׂה־ should you wage ta·‘ă·śeh- לְּךָ֣ lə·ḵā מִלְחָמָ֑ה war , mil·ḥā·māh וּ֝תְשׁוּעָ֗ה and victory ū·ṯə·šū·‘āh בְּרֹ֣ב lies in a multitude bə·rōḇ יוֹעֵֽץ׃ of counselors . yō·w·‘êṣ Proverbs 24:7 חָכְמ֑וֹת Wisdom ḥā·ḵə·mō·wṯ רָאמ֣וֹת [is] too high rā·mō·wṯ לֶֽאֱוִ֣יל for a fool ; le·’ĕ·wîl לֹ֣א he does not lō יִפְתַּח־ open yip̄·taḥ- פִּֽיהוּ׃ his mouth pî·hū בַּ֝שַּׁ֗עַר in the meeting place . baš·ša·‘ar Proverbs 24:8 מְחַשֵּׁ֥ב He who plots mə·ḥaš·šêḇ לְהָרֵ֑עַ evil lə·hā·rê·a‘ ל֝֗וֹ lōw יִקְרָֽאוּ׃ will be called yiq·rā·’ū בַּֽעַל־ a schemer ba·‘al- מְזִמּ֥וֹת . . . . mə·zim·mō·wṯ Proverbs 24:9 אִוֶּ֣לֶת A foolish ’iw·we·leṯ זִמַּ֣ת scheme zim·maṯ חַטָּ֑את is sin , ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ לֵֽץ׃ and a mocker lêṣ וְתוֹעֲבַ֖ת is detestable wə·ṯō·w·‘ă·ḇaṯ לְאָדָ֣ם to men . lə·’ā·ḏām Proverbs 24:10 הִ֭תְרַפִּיתָ If you faint hiṯ·rap·pî·ṯā בְּי֥וֹם in the day bə·yō·wm צָרָ֗ה of distress , ṣā·rāh צַ֣ר how small ṣar
