לִ֑י , lî וְ֝עֵינֶ֗יךָ and let your eyes wə·‘ê·ne·ḵā תִּרְצֶנָה׃ delight tir·ṣɛ·nå̄h דְּרָכַ֥י in my ways . də·rā·ḵay Proverbs 23:27 כִּֽי־ For kî- זוֹנָ֑ה a prostitute zō·w·nāh עֲמֻקָּ֣ה is a deep ‘ă·muq·qāh שׁוּחָ֣ה pit , šū·ḥāh נָכְרִיָּֽה׃ and an adulteress nā·ḵə·rî·yāh צָ֝רָ֗ה is a narrow ṣā·rāh וּבְאֵ֥ר well . ū·ḇə·’êr Proverbs 23:28 כְּחֶ֣תֶף Like a robber kə·ḥe·ṯep̄ אַף־ - ’ap̄- הִ֭יא she hî תֶּֽאֱרֹ֑ב lies in wait te·’ĕ·rōḇ תּוֹסִֽף׃ and multiplies tō·w·sip̄ וּ֝בוֹגְדִ֗ים the faithless ū·ḇō·wḡ·ḏîm בְּאָדָ֥ם among men . bə·’ā·ḏām Proverbs 23:29 לְמִ֨י Who lə·mî א֥וֹי has woe ? ’ō·w לְמִ֪י Who lə·mî אֲב֡וֹי has sorrow ? ’ă·ḇō·w לְמִ֤י Who lə·mî מְדוֹנִים has contentions ? mə·ḏō·nīm לְמִ֥י Who lə·mî שִׂ֗יחַ has complaints ? śî·aḥ לְ֭מִי Who lə·mî חִנָּ֑ם {has} needless ḥin·nām פְּצָעִ֣ים wounds ? pə·ṣā·‘îm לְ֝מִ֗י Who lə·mî חַכְלִל֥וּת has bloodshot ḥaḵ·li·lūṯ עֵינָֽיִם׃ eyes ? ‘ê·nā·yim Proverbs 23:30 לַֽמְאַחֲרִ֥ים Those who linger lam·’a·ḥă·rîm עַל־ over ‘al- הַיָּ֑יִן wine , hay·yā·yin לַ֝בָּאִ֗ים who go lab·bā·’îm לַחְקֹ֥ר to taste laḥ·qōr מִמְסָֽךְ׃ mixed drinks . mim·sāḵ Proverbs 23:31 אַל־ Do not ’al- תֵּ֥רֶא gaze at tê·re יַיִן֮ wine ya·yin כִּ֪י while kî יִתְאַ֫דָּ֥ם it is red , yiṯ·’ad·dām כִּֽי־ when kî- יִתֵּ֣ן it sparkles yit·tên בַּכִּיס in the cup bak·kīs עֵינ֑וֹ . . . ‘ê·nōw יִ֝תְהַלֵּ֗ךְ and goes down smoothly yiṯ·hal·lêḵ בְּמֵישָׁרִֽים׃ . . . . bə·mê·šā·rîm Proverbs 23:32 אַ֭חֲרִיתוֹ In the end ’a·ḥă·rî·ṯōw יִשָּׁ֑ךְ it bites yiš·šāḵ כְּנָחָ֣שׁ like a snake kə·nā·ḥāš יַפְרִֽשׁ׃ and stings yap̄·riš וּֽכְצִפְעֹנִ֥י like a viper . ū·ḵə·ṣip̄·‘ō·nî Proverbs 23:33 עֵ֭ינֶיךָ Your eyes ‘ê·ne·ḵā יִרְא֣וּ will see yir·’ū זָר֑וֹת strange things , zā·rō·wṯ וְ֝לִבְּךָ֗ and your mind wə·lib·bə·ḵā יְדַבֵּ֥ר will utter yə·ḏab·bêr תַּהְפֻּכֽוֹת׃ perversities . tah·pu·ḵō·wṯ Proverbs 23:34 וְ֭הָיִיתָ You will be wə·hā·yî·ṯā כְּשֹׁכֵ֣ב like one sleeping kə·šō·ḵêḇ בְּלֶב־ . . . bə·leḇ- יָ֑ם on the high seas yām וּ֝כְשֹׁכֵ֗ב or lying ū·ḵə·šō·ḵêḇ בְּרֹ֣אשׁ on the top bə·rōš חִבֵּֽל׃ of a mast : ḥib·bêl Proverbs 23:35 הִכּ֥וּנִי “ They struck me , hik·kū·nî בַל־ but I feel no ḇal- חָלִיתִי֮ pain ! ḥā·lî·ṯî הֲלָמ֗וּנִי They beat me , hă·lā·mū·nî בַּל־ but I did not bal- יָ֫דָ֥עְתִּי know it! yā·ḏā·‘ə·tî
