יִקַּ֥ח be taken yiq·qaḥ מִתַּחְתֶּֽיךָ׃ from under you ? mit·taḥ·te·ḵā Proverbs 22:28 אַל־ Do not ’al- תַּ֭סֵּג move tas·sêḡ עוֹלָ֑ם an ancient ‘ō·w·lām גְּב֣וּל boundary stone gə·ḇūl אֲשֶׁ֖ר which ’ă·šer אֲבוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ your fathers ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯe·ḵā עָשׂ֣וּ have placed . ‘ā·śū Proverbs 22:29 חָזִ֡יתָ Do you see ḥā·zî·ṯā אִ֤ישׁ׀ a man ’îš מָ֘הִ֤יר skilled mā·hîr בִּמְלַאכְתּ֗וֹ in his work ? bim·laḵ·tōw יִתְיַצָּ֑ב He will be stationed yiṯ·yaṣ·ṣāḇ לִֽפְנֵֽי־ in the presence lip̄·nê- מְלָכִ֥ים of kings ; mə·lā·ḵîm בַּל־ he will not bal- יִ֝תְיַצֵּב stand yiṯ·yaṣ·ṣêḇ לִפְנֵ֥י before lip̄·nê חֲשֻׁכִּֽים׃פ obscure men . ḥă·šuk·kîm Proverbs 23:1 כִּֽי־ When kî- תֵ֭שֵׁב you sit down ṯê·šêḇ לִלְח֣וֹם to dine lil·ḥō·wm אֶת־ with ’eṯ- מוֹשֵׁ֑ל a ruler , mō·wō·šêl בִּ֥ין consider bîn תָּ֝בִ֗ין carefully tā·ḇîn אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲשֶׁ֥ר what ’ă·šer לְפָנֶֽיךָ׃ is set before you , lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā Proverbs 23:2 וְשַׂמְתָּ֣ and put wə·śam·tā שַׂכִּ֣ין a knife śak·kîn בְּלֹעֶ֑ךָ to your throat bə·lō·‘e·ḵā אִם־ if ’im- אָֽתָּה׃ you ’āt·tāh בַּ֖עַל possess ba·‘al נֶ֣פֶשׁ a [great] appetite . ne·p̄eš Proverbs 23:3 אַל־ Do not ’al- תִּ֭תְאָו crave tiṯ·ʾå̄w לְמַטְעַמּוֹתָ֑יו his delicacies , lə·maṭ·‘am·mō·w·ṯāw וְ֝ה֗וּא for that wə·hū לֶ֣חֶם food le·ḥem כְּזָבִֽים׃ is deceptive . kə·zā·ḇîm Proverbs 23:4 אַל־ Do not ’al- תִּיגַ֥ע wear yourself out tî·ḡa‘ לְֽהַעֲשִׁ֑יר to get rich ; lə·ha·‘ă·šîr מִֽבִּינָתְךָ֥ be wise enough mib·bî·nā·ṯə·ḵā חֲדָֽל׃ to restrain yourself . ḥă·ḏāl Proverbs 23:5 הֲתָעוּף When you glance hă·ṯå̄·ʿūp̄ עֵינֶ֥יךָ . . . ‘ê·ne·ḵā בּ֗וֹ [at wealth] , bōw וְֽאֵ֫ינֶ֥נּוּ it disappears , wə·’ê·nen·nū כִּ֤י for kî עָשֹׂ֣ה it makes ‘ā·śōh יַעֲשֶׂה־ . . . ya·‘ă·śeh- לּ֣וֹ lōw כְנָפַ֑יִם wings for itself ḵə·nā·p̄a·yim וְעָיֵף and flies wə·ʿå̄·yēp̄ כְּ֝נֶ֗שֶׁר like an eagle kə·ne·šer הַשָּׁמָֽיִם׃פ to the sky . haš·šā·mā·yim Proverbs 23:6 אַל־ Do not ’al- תִּלְחַ֗ם eat til·ḥam אֶת־ - ’eṯ- לֶ֭חֶם the bread le·ḥem רַ֣ע of a stingy man ra‘ עָ֑יִן . . . , ‘ā·yin וְאַל־ and do not wə·’al- תִּתְאָו crave tiṯ·ʾå̄w לְמַטְעַמֹּתָֽיו׃ his delicacies ; lə·maṭ·‘am·mō·ṯāw Proverbs 23:7 כִּ֤י׀ for kî כְּמוֹ־ - kə·mōw- שָׁעַ֥ר he is keeping track , šā·‘ar בְּנַפְשׁ֗וֹ inwardly bə·nap̄·šōw
