Proverbs 22:9 טֽוֹב־ A generous [man] ṭō·wḇ- עַ֭יִן . . . ‘a·yin ה֣וּא . . . hū יְבֹרָ֑ךְ will be blessed , yə·ḇō·rāḵ כִּֽי־ for kî- נָתַ֖ן he shares nā·ṯan מִלַּחְמ֣וֹ his bread mil·laḥ·mōw לַדָּֽל׃ with the poor . lad·dāl Proverbs 22:10 גָּ֣רֵֽשׁ Drive out gā·rêš לֵ֭ץ the mocker , lêṣ מָד֑וֹן and conflict mā·ḏō·wn וְיֵצֵ֣א will depart ; wə·yê·ṣê דִּ֣ין even quarreling dîn וְקָלֽוֹן׃ and insults wə·qā·lō·wn וְ֝יִשְׁבֹּ֗ת will cease . wə·yiš·bōṯ Proverbs 22:11 אֹהֵ֥ב He who loves ’ō·hêḇ טְהוֹר a pure heart ṭə·hōr לֵ֑ב . . . lêḇ חֵ֥ן and gracious ḥên שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו lips p̄ā·ṯāw מֶֽלֶךְ׃ [will have] the king me·leḵ רֵעֵ֥הוּ for a friend . rê·‘ê·hū Proverbs 22:12 יְ֭הוָה YHWH’s Yah·weh עֵינֵ֣י eyes ‘ê·nê נָ֣צְרוּ keep watch over nā·ṣə·rū דָ֑עַת knowledge , ḏā·‘aṯ וַ֝יְסַלֵּ֗ף but He frustrates way·sal·lêp̄ דִּבְרֵ֥י the words diḇ·rê בֹגֵֽד׃ of the faithless . ḇō·ḡêḏ Proverbs 22:13 עָ֭צֵל The slacker ‘ā·ṣêl אָמַ֣ר says , ’ā·mar אֲרִ֣י “ [There is] a lion ’ă·rî בַח֑וּץ outside ! ḇa·ḥūṣ אֵֽרָצֵֽחַ׃ I will be slain ’ê·rā·ṣê·aḥ בְּת֥וֹךְ in bə·ṯō·wḵ רְ֝חֹב֗וֹת the streets ! ” rə·ḥō·ḇō·wṯ Proverbs 22:14 פִּ֣י The mouth pî זָר֑וֹת of an adulteress zā·rō·wṯ עֲ֭מֻקָּה is a deep ‘ă·muq·qāh שׁוּחָ֣ה pit ; šū·ḥāh זְע֥וּם he who is under the wrath zə·‘ūm יְ֝הוָ֗ה of YHWH Yah·weh יִפּוֹל will fall yip·pōl שָֽׁם׃ into it . šām Proverbs 22:15 אִ֭וֶּלֶת Foolishness ’iw·we·leṯ קְשׁוּרָ֣ה [is] bound up qə·šū·rāh בְלֶב־ in the heart ḇə·leḇ- נָ֑עַר of a child , nā·‘ar שֵׁ֥בֶט [but] the rod šê·ḇeṭ מ֝וּסָ֗ר of discipline mū·sār יַרְחִיקֶ֥נָּה drives it far yar·ḥî·qen·nāh מִמֶּֽנּוּ׃ from him . mim·men·nū Proverbs 22:16 עֹ֣שֵֽׁק Oppressing ‘ō·šêq דָּ֭ל the poor dāl לְהַרְבּ֣וֹת to enrich lə·har·bō·wṯ ל֑וֹ oneself lōw נֹתֵ֥ן or giving gifts nō·ṯên לְ֝עָשִׁ֗יר to the rich lə·‘ā·šîr אַךְ־ [will] surely lead ’aḵ- לְמַחְסֽוֹר׃ to poverty . lə·maḥ·sō·wr Proverbs 22:17 הַ֥ט Incline haṭ אָזְנְךָ֗ your ear ’ā·zə·nə·ḵā וּ֭שְׁמַע and hear ū·šə·ma‘ דִּבְרֵ֣י the words diḇ·rê חֲכָמִ֑ים of the wise — ḥă·ḵā·mîm תָּשִׁ֥ית apply tā·šîṯ וְ֝לִבְּךָ֗ your mind wə·lib·bə·ḵā לְדַעְתִּֽי׃ to my knowledge — lə·ḏa‘·tî Proverbs 22:18 כִּֽי־ for kî- נָ֭עִים it is pleasing nā·‘îm כִּֽי־ when kî-
