אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer יַחְפֹּ֣ץ He pleases . yaḥ·pōṣ Proverbs 21:2 כָּֽל־ All kāl- אִ֭ישׁ a man’s ’îš דֶּרֶךְ־ ways de·reḵ- בְּעֵינָ֑יו seem bə·‘ê·nāw יָשָׁ֣ר right to him , yā·šār יְהוָֽה׃ but YHWH Yah·weh וְתֹכֵ֖ן weighs wə·ṯō·ḵên לִבּ֣וֹת the heart . lib·bō·wṯ Proverbs 21:3 עֲ֭שֹׂה To do ‘ă·śōh צְדָקָ֣ה righteousness ṣə·ḏā·qāh וּמִשְׁפָּ֑ט and justice ū·miš·pāṭ נִבְחָ֖ר is more desirable niḇ·ḥār לַיהוָ֣ה to YHWH Yah·weh מִזָּֽבַח׃ than sacrifice . miz·zā·ḇaḥ Proverbs 21:4 רוּם־ Haughty rūm- עֵ֭ינַיִם eyes ‘ê·na·yim וּרְחַב־ and a proud ū·rə·ḥaḇ- לֵ֑ב heart — lêḇ נִ֖ר the guides nir רְשָׁעִ֣ים of the wicked — rə·šā·‘îm חַטָּֽאת׃ [are] sin . ḥaṭ·ṭāṯ Proverbs 21:5 מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת The plans maḥ·šə·ḇō·wṯ חָ֭רוּץ of the diligent ḥā·rūṣ אַךְ־ - ’aḵ- לְמוֹתָ֑ר bring plenty , lə·mō·w·ṯār אַךְ־ as surely ’aḵ- וְכָל־ wə·ḵāl אָ֝֗ץ as haste [leads] ’āṣ לְמַחְסֽוֹר׃ to poverty . lə·maḥ·sō·wr Proverbs 21:6 פֹּ֣עַל Making pō·‘al א֭וֹצָרוֹת a fortune ’ō·w·ṣā·rō·wṯ שָׁ֑קֶר by a lying šā·qer בִּלְשׁ֣וֹן tongue bil·šō·wn נִ֝דָּ֗ף is a vanishing nid·dāp̄ הֶ֥בֶל mist , he·ḇel מָֽוֶת׃ a deadly mā·weṯ מְבַקְשֵׁי־ pursuit . mə·ḇaq·šê- Proverbs 21:7 שֹׁד־ The violence šōḏ- רְשָׁעִ֥ים of the wicked rə·šā·‘îm יְגוֹרֵ֑ם will sweep them away yə·ḡō·w·rêm כִּ֥י because kî מֵ֝אֲנ֗וּ they refuse mê·’ă·nū לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת to do la·‘ă·śō·wṯ מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ what is just . miš·pāṭ Proverbs 21:8 דֶּ֣רֶךְ The way de·reḵ וָזָ֑ר of a guilty wā·zār אִ֣ישׁ man ’îš הֲפַכְפַּ֬ךְ is crooked , hă·p̄aḵ·paḵ פָּעֳלֽוֹ׃ but the conduct pā·‘o·lōw וְ֝זַ֗ךְ of the innocent wə·zaḵ יָשָׁ֥ר is upright . yā·šār Proverbs 21:9 ט֗וֹב Better ṭō·wḇ לָשֶׁ֥בֶת to live lā·še·ḇeṯ עַל־ on ‘al- פִּנַּת־ a corner pin·naṯ- גָּ֑ג of the roof gāḡ חָֽבֶר׃ than to share ḥā·ḇer וּבֵ֥ית a house ū·ḇêṯ מִ֝דְיָנִ֗ים with a quarrelsome miḏ·yā·nîm מֵאֵ֥שֶׁת wife . mê·’ê·šeṯ Proverbs 21:10 נֶ֣פֶשׁ The soul ne·p̄eš רָ֭שָׁע of the wicked [man] rā·šā‘ אִוְּתָה־ craves ’iw·wə·ṯāh- רָ֑ע evil ; rā‘ רֵעֵֽהוּ׃ his neighbor rê·‘ê·hū יֻחַ֖ן finds no favor yu·ḥan לֹא־ . . . lō- בְּעֵינָ֣יו in his eyes . bə·‘ê·nāw
