שְׁנֵיהֶֽם׃ both . šə·nê·hem Proverbs 20:13 אַל־ Do not ’al- תֶּֽאֱהַ֣ב love te·’ĕ·haḇ שֵׁ֭נָה sleep , nāh פֶּן־ or pen- תִּוָּרֵ֑שׁ you will grow poor ; tiw·wā·rêš פְּקַ֖ח open pə·qaḥ עֵינֶ֣יךָ your eyes , ‘ê·ne·ḵā שְֽׂבַֽע־ [and] you will have plenty śə·ḇa‘- לָֽחֶם׃ of food . lā·ḥem Proverbs 20:14 רַ֣ע “ Worthless , ra‘ רַ֭ע worthless ! ” ra‘ יֹאמַ֣ר says yō·mar הַקּוֹנֶ֑ה the buyer , haq·qō·w·neh וְאֹזֵ֥ל but on the way out wə·’ō·zêl ל֝֗וֹ , lōw אָ֣ז - ’āz יִתְהַלָּֽל׃ he gloats . yiṯ·hal·lāl Proverbs 20:15 יֵ֣שׁ There is yêš וְרָב־ an abundance wə·rāḇ- זָ֭הָב of gold zā·hāḇ פְּנִינִ֑ים [and] rubies , pə·nî·nîm שִׂפְתֵי־ but lips śip̄·ṯê- דָֽעַת׃ of knowledge ḏā·‘aṯ יְ֝קָ֗ר are a rare yə·qār וּכְלִ֥י treasure . ū·ḵə·lî Proverbs 20:16 לְֽקַח־ Take lə·qaḥ- בִּ֭גְדוֹ the garment biḡ·ḏōw כִּי־ of the one kî- עָ֣רַב who posts security ‘ā·raḇ זָ֑ר for a stranger ; zār חַבְלֵֽהוּ׃ get collateral ḥaḇ·lê·hū וּבְעַ֖ד if it is for ū·ḇə·‘aḏ נָכְרִים a foreigner . nå̄·ḵə·rīm Proverbs 20:17 לֶ֣חֶם Food le·ḥem שָׁ֑קֶר gained by fraud šā·qer עָרֵ֣ב is sweet ‘ā·rêḇ לָ֭אִישׁ to a man , lā·’îš וְ֝אַחַ֗ר but later wə·’a·ḥar פִ֥יהוּ his mouth p̄î·hū יִמָּֽלֵא־ is full of yim·mā·lê- חָצָֽץ׃ gravel . ḥā·ṣāṣ Proverbs 20:18 תִכּ֑וֹן Set ṯik·kō·wn מַ֭חֲשָׁבוֹת plans ma·ḥă·šā·ḇō·wṯ בְּעֵצָ֣ה by consultation , bə·‘ê·ṣāh עֲשֵׂ֣ה and wage ‘ă·śêh מִלְחָמָֽה׃ war mil·ḥā·māh וּ֝בְתַחְבֻּל֗וֹת under sound guidance . ū·ḇə·ṯaḥ·bu·lō·wṯ Proverbs 20:19 גּֽוֹלֶה־ He who reveals gō·w·leh- סּ֭וֹד secrets sō·wḏ הוֹלֵ֣ךְ is a constant hō·w·lêḵ רָכִ֑יל gossip ; rā·ḵîl לֹ֣א vvv lō תִתְעָרָֽב׃ avoid ṯiṯ·‘ā·rāḇ וּלְפֹתֶ֥ה the one who babbles ū·lə·p̄ō·ṯeh שְׂ֝פָתָ֗יו with his lips . p̄ā·ṯāw Proverbs 20:20 מְ֭קַלֵּל Whoever curses mə·qal·lêl אָבִ֣יו his father ’ā·ḇîw וְאִמּ֑וֹ or mother , wə·’im·mōw נֵ֝ר֗וֹ his lamp nê·rōw יִֽדְעַ֥ךְ will be extinguished yiḏ·‘aḵ בְּאִישׁוֹן in deepest bə·ʾī·šōn חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ darkness . ḥō·šeḵ Proverbs 20:21 נַ֭חֲלָה An inheritance na·ḥă·lāh מְבֻחֶלֶת gained mə·ḇu·ḥɛ·lɛṯ בָּרִאשֹׁנָ֑ה quickly bā·ri·šō·nāh לֹ֣א will not lō תְבֹרָֽךְ׃ be blessed ṯə·ḇō·rāḵ וְ֝אַחֲרִיתָ֗הּ in the end . wə·’a·ḥă·rî·ṯāh Proverbs 20:22 אַל־ Do not ’al-
