Proverbs 19:23 יִרְאַ֣ת The fear yir·’aṯ יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh לְחַיִּ֑ים leads to life , lə·ḥay·yîm יָ֝לִ֗ין that one may rest yā·lîn וְשָׂבֵ֥עַ content , wə·śā·ḇê·a‘ בַּל־ without bal- יִפָּ֥קֶד visitation yip·pā·qeḏ רָֽע׃ from harm . rā‘ Proverbs 19:24 עָצֵ֣ל The slacker ‘ā·ṣêl טָ֘מַ֤ן buries ṭā·man יָ֭דוֹ his hand yā·ḏōw בַּצַּלָּ֑חַת in the dish ; baṣ·ṣal·lā·ḥaṯ לֹ֣א he will not lō גַּם־ even gam- יְשִׁיבֶֽנָּה׃ bring it back yə·šî·ḇen·nāh אֶל־ to ’el- פִּ֝֗יהוּ his mouth . pî·hū Proverbs 19:25 תַּ֭כֶּה Strike tak·keh לֵ֣ץ a mocker , lêṣ וּפֶ֣תִי and the simple ū·p̄e·ṯî יַעְרִ֑ם will beware ; ya‘·rim וְהוֹכִ֥יחַ rebuke wə·hō·w·ḵî·aḥ לְ֝נָב֗וֹן the discerning [man] , lə·nā·ḇō·wn יָבִ֥ין and he will gain yā·ḇîn דָּֽעַת׃ knowledge . dā·‘aṯ Proverbs 19:26 מְֽשַׁדֶּד־ He who assaults mə·šad·deḏ- אָ֭ב his father ’āḇ יַבְרִ֣יחַ or evicts yaḇ·rî·aḥ אֵ֑ם his mother ’êm בֵּ֝֗ן is a son bên מֵבִ֥ישׁ who brings shame mê·ḇîš וּמַחְפִּֽיר׃ and disgrace . ū·maḥ·pîr Proverbs 19:27 חַֽדַל־ If you cease ḥa·ḏal- לִשְׁמֹ֣עַ to hear liš·mō·a‘ מוּסָ֑ר instruction , mū·sār בְּ֭נִי my son , bə·nī לִ֝שְׁג֗וֹת you will stray liš·ḡō·wṯ מֵֽאִמְרֵי־ from the words mê·’im·rê- דָֽעַת׃ of knowledge . ḏā·‘aṯ Proverbs 19:28 בְּ֭לִיַּעַל A corrupt bə·lî·ya·‘al עֵ֣ד witness ‘êḏ יָלִ֣יץ mocks yā·lîṣ מִשְׁפָּ֑ט justice , miš·pāṭ רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים and a wicked rə·šā·‘îm וּפִ֥י mouth ū·p̄î יְבַלַּע־ swallows yə·ḇal·la‘- אָֽוֶן׃ iniquity . ’ā·wen Proverbs 19:29 שְׁפָטִ֑ים Judgments šə·p̄ā·ṭîm נָכ֣וֹנוּ are prepared nā·ḵō·w·nū לַלֵּצִ֣ים for mockers , lal·lê·ṣîm וּ֝מַהֲלֻמ֗וֹת and beatings ū·ma·hă·lu·mō·wṯ לְגֵ֣ו for the backs lə·ḡêw כְּסִילִֽים׃ of fools . kə·sî·lîm Proverbs 20:1 הַ֭יַּין Wine hay·yayn לֵ֣ץ is a mocker , lêṣ שֵׁכָ֑ר strong drink šê·ḵār הֹמֶ֣ה is a brawler , hō·meh וְכָל־ and whoever wə·ḵāl שֹׁ֥גֶה is led astray šō·ḡeh בּ֝֗וֹ by them bōw לֹ֣א is not lō יֶחְכָּֽם׃ wise . yeḥ·kām Proverbs 20:2 אֵ֣ימַת The terror ’ê·maṯ מֶ֑לֶךְ of a king me·leḵ נַ֣הַם is like the roar na·ham כַּ֭כְּפִיר of a lion ; kak·kə·p̄îr מִ֝תְעַבְּר֗וֹ whoever provokes [him] miṯ·‘ab·bə·rōw חוֹטֵ֥א forfeits ḥō·w·ṭê נַפְשֽׁוֹ׃ his own life . nap̄·šōw Proverbs 20:3 כָּב֣וֹד It is honorable kā·ḇō·wḏ לָ֭אִישׁ for a man lā·’îš שֶׁ֣בֶת to resolve še·ḇeṯ
