וְזִקְנֵ֨י with [them] wə·ziq·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl אֶל־ to ’el- מֶ֣לֶךְ the king me·leḵ מִצְרַ֗יִם of Egypt miṣ·ra·yim וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֤ם and tell wa·’ă·mar·tem אֵלָיו֙ him , ’ê·lāw יְהוָ֞ה ‘ YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֤י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê הָֽעִבְרִיִּים֙ of the Hebrews , hā·‘iḇ·rî·yîm נִקְרָ֣ה has met niq·rāh עָלֵ֔ינוּ with us . ‘ā·lê·nū וְעַתָּ֗ה Now wə·‘at·tāh נָּ֞א please nā נֵֽלֲכָה־ let us take nê·lă·ḵāh- שְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת a three-day šə·lō·šeṯ יָמִים֙ . . . yā·mîm דֶּ֣רֶךְ journey de·reḵ בַּמִּדְבָּ֔ר into the wilderness , bam·miḏ·bār וְנִזְבְּחָ֖ה so that we may sacrifice wə·niz·bə·ḥāh לַֽיהוָ֥ה to YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵֽינוּ׃ our God . ’ ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū Exodus 3:19 וַאֲנִ֣י But I wa·’ă·nî יָדַ֔עְתִּי know yā·ḏa‘·tî כִּ֠י that kî מֶ֥לֶךְ the king me·leḵ מִצְרַ֖יִם of Egypt miṣ·ra·yim לֹֽא־ will not lō- יִתֵּ֥ן allow yit·tên אֶתְכֶ֛ם - ’eṯ·ḵem לַהֲלֹ֑ךְ you to go la·hă·lōḵ וְלֹ֖א unless wə·lō חֲזָקָֽה׃ a mighty hand compels him ḥă·zā·qāh בְּיָ֥ד . . . . bə·yāḏ Exodus 3:20 וְשָׁלַחְתִּ֤י So I will stretch out wə·šā·laḥ·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יָדִי֙ My hand yā·ḏî וְהִכֵּיתִ֣י and strike wə·hik·kê·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִצְרַ֔יִם the Egyptians miṣ·ra·yim בְּכֹל֙ with all bə·ḵōl נִפְלְאֹתַ֔י the wonders nip̄·lə·’ō·ṯay אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֖ה I will perform ’e·‘ĕ·śeh בְּקִרְבּ֑וֹ among them . bə·qir·bōw וְאַחֲרֵי־ And after wə·’a·ḥă·rê- כֵ֖ן that , ḵên יְשַׁלַּ֥ח he will release yə·šal·laḥ אֶתְכֶֽם׃ you . ’eṯ·ḵem Exodus 3:21 וְנָתַתִּ֛י And I will grant wə·nā·ṯat·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּ֖ה this haz·zeh הָֽעָם־ people hā·‘ām- חֵ֥ן such favor ḥên בְּעֵינֵ֣י in the sight bə·‘ê·nê מִצְרָ֑יִם of the Egyptians miṣ·rā·yim וְהָיָה֙ . . . wə·hā·yāh כִּ֣י that when kî תֵֽלֵכ֔וּן you leave , ṯê·lê·ḵūn לֹ֥א you will not lō תֵלְכ֖וּ go away ṯê·lə·ḵū רֵיקָֽם׃ empty-handed . rê·qām Exodus 3:22 אִשָּׁ֤ה Every ’iš·šāh וְשָׁאֲלָ֨ה woman shall ask wə·šā·’ă·lāh מִשְּׁכֶנְתָּהּ֙ her neighbor miš·šə·ḵen·tāh וּמִגָּרַ֣ת and any woman staying ū·mig·gā·raṯ בֵּיתָ֔הּ in her house bê·ṯāh כֶ֛סֶף for silver ḵe·sep̄ וּכְלֵ֥י . . . ū·ḵə·lê זָהָ֖ב and gold zā·hāḇ כְּלֵי־ jewelry kə·lê- וּשְׂמָלֹ֑ת and clothing , ū·śə·mā·lōṯ וְשַׂמְתֶּ֗ם and you will put them wə·śam·tem עַל־ on ‘al- בְּנֵיכֶם֙ your sons bə·nê·ḵem וְעַל־ . . . wə·‘al- בְּנֹ֣תֵיכֶ֔ם and daughters . bə·nō·ṯê·ḵem וְנִצַּלְתֶּ֖ם So you will plunder wə·niṣ·ṣal·tem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִצְרָֽיִם׃ the Egyptians . ” miṣ·rā·yim Exodus 4:1 מֹשֶׁה֙ Then Moses mō·šeh וַיַּ֤עַן answered way·ya·‘an וַיֹּ֔אמֶר - , way·yō·mer וְהֵן֙ “ What if wə·hên לֹֽא־ they do not lō-
