Exodus 2:6 וַתִּפְתַּח֙ When she opened it , wat·tip̄·taḥ וַתִּרְאֵ֣הוּ she saw wat·tir·’ê·hū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַיֶּ֔לֶד the child , hay·ye·leḏ וְהִנֵּה־ and behold , wə·hin·nêh- נַ֖עַר the little boy na·‘ar בֹּכֶ֑ה was crying . bō·ḵeh וַתַּחְמֹ֣ל So she had compassion wat·taḥ·mōl עָלָ֔יו on him ‘ā·lāw וַתֹּ֕אמֶר and said , wat·tō·mer זֶֽה׃ “ This is one of zeh הָֽעִבְרִ֖ים the Hebrew hā·‘iḇ·rîm מִיַּלְדֵ֥י children . ” mî·yal·ḏê Exodus 2:7 אֲחֹתוֹ֮ Then his sister ’ă·ḥō·ṯōw וַתֹּ֣אמֶר said wat·tō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- פַּרְעֹה֒ Pharaoh’s par·‘ōh בַּת־ daughter , baṯ- הַאֵלֵ֗ךְ “ Shall I go ha·’ê·lêḵ וְקָרָ֤אתִי and call wə·qā·rā·ṯî לָךְ֙ lāḵ מִ֖ן one of min הָעִבְרִיֹּ֑ת the Hebrew hā·‘iḇ·rî·yōṯ אִשָּׁ֣ה women ’iš·šāh מֵינֶ֔קֶת mê·ne·qeṯ וְתֵינִ֥ק to nurse wə·ṯê·niq הַיָּֽלֶד׃ the child hay·yā·leḏ לָ֖ךְ for you ? ” lāḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- Exodus 2:8 לֵ֑כִי “ Go ahead , ” lê·ḵî פַּרְעֹ֖ה Pharaoh’s par·‘ōh בַּת־ daughter baṯ- וַתֹּֽאמֶר־ told wat·tō·mer- לָ֥הּ her . lāh הָֽעַלְמָ֔ה And the girl hā·‘al·māh וַתֵּ֙לֶךְ֙ went wat·tê·leḵ וַתִּקְרָ֖א and called wat·tiq·rā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַיָּֽלֶד׃ the boy’s hay·yā·leḏ אֵ֥ם mother . ’êm Exodus 2:9 פַּרְעֹ֗ה Pharaoh’s par·‘ōh בַּת־ daughter baṯ- וַתֹּ֧אמֶר said wat·tō·mer לָ֣הּ to her , lāh הֵילִ֜יכִי “ Take hê·lî·ḵî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַזֶּה֙ this haz·zeh הַיֶּ֤לֶד child hay·ye·leḏ וְהֵינִקִ֣הוּ and nurse him wə·hê·ni·qi·hū לִ֔י for me , lî וַאֲנִ֖י and I wa·’ă·nî אֶתֵּ֣ן will pay ’et·tên אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שְׂכָרֵ֑ךְ your wages . ” śə·ḵā·rêḵ הָאִשָּׁ֛ה So the woman hā·’iš·šāh וַתִּקַּ֧ח took wat·tiq·qaḥ הַיֶּ֖לֶד the boy hay·ye·leḏ וַתְּנִיקֵֽהוּ׃ and nursed him . wat·tə·nî·qê·hū Exodus 2:10 הַיֶּ֗לֶד When the child hay·ye·leḏ וַיִגְדַּ֣ל had grown older , wa·yiḡ·dal וַתְּבִאֵ֙הוּ֙ she brought him wat·tə·ḇi·’ê·hū פַּרְעֹ֔ה to Pharaoh’s par·‘ōh לְבַת־ daughter , lə·ḇaṯ- וַֽיְהִי־ and he became way·hî- לָ֖הּ her lāh לְבֵ֑ן son . lə·ḇên וַתִּקְרָ֤א She named him wat·tiq·rā שְׁמוֹ֙ . . . šə·mōw מֹשֶׁ֔ה Moses mō·šeh וַתֹּ֕אמֶר and explained wat·tō·mer כִּ֥י . . . , kî מְשִׁיתִֽהוּ׃ “ I drew him out mə·šî·ṯi·hū מִן־ of min- הַמַּ֖יִם the water . ” ham·ma·yim Exodus 2:11 וַיְהִ֣י׀ - way·hî בַּיָּמִ֣ים One day bay·yā·mîm הָהֵ֗ם . . . , hā·hêm מֹשֶׁה֙ after Moses mō·šeh וַיִּגְדַּ֤ל had grown up , way·yiḡ·dal וַיֵּצֵ֣א he went out way·yê·ṣê אֶל־ to ’el- אֶחָ֔יו his own people ’e·ḥāw וַיַּ֖רְא and observed way·yar בְּסִבְלֹתָ֑ם their hard labor . bə·siḇ·lō·ṯām
