Exodus 1:22 פַּרְעֹ֔ה Then Pharaoh par·‘ōh וַיְצַ֣ו commanded way·ṣaw לְכָל־ all lə·ḵāl עַמּ֖וֹ his people ‘am·mōw לֵאמֹ֑ר . . . : lê·mōr כָּל־ “ Every kāl- הַבֵּ֣ן son hab·bên הַיִּלּ֗וֹד born [to the Hebrews] hay·yil·lō·wḏ תַּשְׁלִיכֻ֔הוּ you must throw taš·lî·ḵu·hū הַיְאֹ֙רָה֙ into the Nile , hay·’ō·rāh וְכָל־ but every wə·ḵāl הַבַּ֖ת daughter hab·baṯ תְּחַיּֽוּן׃ס you may allow to live . ” tə·ḥay·yūn Exodus 2:1 וַיֵּ֥לֶךְ - way·yê·leḵ אִ֖ישׁ Now a man ’îš מִבֵּ֣ית of the house mib·bêṯ לֵוִ֑י of Levi lê·wî וַיִּקַּ֖ח married way·yiq·qaḥ אֶת־ a ’eṯ- בַּת־ daughter baṯ- לֵוִֽי׃ of Levi , lê·wî Exodus 2:2 הָאִשָּׁ֖ה and she hā·’iš·šāh וַתַּ֥הַר conceived wat·ta·har וַתֵּ֣לֶד and gave birth to wat·tê·leḏ בֵּ֑ן a son . bên וַתֵּ֤רֶא When she saw wat·tê·re אֹתוֹ֙ - ’ō·ṯōw כִּי־ that kî- ה֔וּא he [was a] hū ט֣וֹב beautiful [child] , ṭō·wḇ וַֽתִּצְפְּנֵ֖הוּ she hid him wat·tiṣ·pə·nê·hū שְׁלֹשָׁ֥ה for three šə·lō·šāh יְרָחִֽים׃ months . yə·rā·ḥîm Exodus 2:3 יָכְלָ֣ה But when she could yā·ḵə·lāh וְלֹא־ no wə·lō- עוֹד֮ longer ‘ō·wḏ הַצְּפִינוֹ֒ hide him , haṣ·ṣə·p̄î·nōw וַתִּֽקַּֽח־ she got wat·tiq·qaḥ- לוֹ֙ him lōw גֹּ֔מֶא a papyrus gō·me תֵּ֣בַת basket tê·ḇaṯ וַתַּחְמְרָ֥ה and coated it wat·taḥ·mə·rāh בַחֵמָ֖ר with tar ḇa·ḥê·mār וּבַזָּ֑פֶת and pitch . ū·ḇaz·zā·p̄eṯ וַתָּ֤שֶׂם Then she placed wat·tā·śem הַיֶּ֔לֶד the child hay·ye·leḏ בָּהּ֙ in bāh אֶת־ [the basket] ’eṯ- וַתָּ֥שֶׂם and set wat·tā·śem בַּסּ֖וּף it among the reeds bas·sūp̄ עַל־ along ‘al- שְׂפַ֥ת the bank śə·p̄aṯ הַיְאֹֽר׃ of the Nile . hay·’ōr Exodus 2:4 אֲחֹת֖וֹ And his sister ’ă·ḥō·ṯōw וַתֵּתַצַּ֥ב stood wat·tê·ṯaṣ·ṣaḇ מֵרָחֹ֑ק at a distance mê·rā·ḥōq לְדֵעָ֕ה to see lə·ḏê·‘āh מַה־ what mah- יֵּעָשֶׂ֖ה would happen yê·‘ā·śeh לֽוֹ׃ to him . lōw Exodus 2:5 בַּת־ Soon the daughter baṯ- פַּרְעֹה֙ of Pharaoh par·‘ōh וַתֵּ֤רֶד went down wat·tê·reḏ לִרְחֹ֣ץ to bathe lir·ḥōṣ עַל־ in ‘al- הַיְאֹ֔ר the Nile , hay·’ōr וְנַעֲרֹתֶ֥יהָ and her attendants wə·na·‘ă·rō·ṯe·hā הֹלְכֹ֖ת were walking hō·lə·ḵōṯ עַל־ along ‘al- יַ֣ד the riverbank yaḏ הַיְאֹ֑ר . . . . hay·’ōr וַתֵּ֤רֶא And when she saw wat·tê·re אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַתֵּבָה֙ the basket hat·tê·ḇāh בְּת֣וֹךְ among bə·ṯō·wḵ הַסּ֔וּף the reeds , has·sūp̄ וַתִּשְׁלַ֥ח she sent wat·tiš·laḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲמָתָ֖הּ her maidservant ’ă·mā·ṯāh וַתִּקָּחֶֽהָ to retrieve it . wat·tiq·qå̄·ḥɛ·hå̄
