Psalm 79:5 עַד־ How long ‘aḏ- מָ֣ה . . . , māh יְ֭הוָה O YHWH ? Yah·weh תֶּאֱנַ֣ף Will You be angry te·’ĕ·nap̄ לָנֶ֑צַח forever ? lā·ne·ṣaḥ קִנְאָתֶֽךָ׃ Will Your jealousy qin·’ā·ṯe·ḵā תִּבְעַ֥ר burn tiḇ·‘ar כְּמוֹ־ like kə·mōw- אֵ֝֗שׁ fire ? ’êš Psalm 79:6 שְׁפֹ֤ךְ Pour out šə·p̄ōḵ חֲמָתְךָ֨ Your wrath ḥă·mā·ṯə·ḵā אֶֽל־ on ’el- הַגּוֹיִם֮ the nations hag·gō·w·yim אֲשֶׁ֪ר that ’ă·šer לֹא־ do not lō- יְדָ֫ע֥וּךָ acknowledge You , yə·ḏā·‘ū·ḵā וְעַ֥ל on wə·‘al מַמְלָכ֑וֹת the kingdoms mam·lā·ḵō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer לֹ֣א refuse lō קָרָֽאוּ׃ to call qā·rā·’ū בְּ֝שִׁמְךָ֗ on Your name , bə·šim·ḵā Psalm 79:7 כִּ֭י for kî אָכַ֣ל they have devoured ’ā·ḵal אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- יַעֲקֹ֑ב Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ וְֽאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הֵשַֽׁמּוּ׃ and devastated hê·šam·mū נָוֵ֥הוּ his homeland . nā·wê·hū Psalm 79:8 תִּזְכָּר־ Do not hold tiz·kār- אַֽל־ . . . ’al- רִאשֹׁ֫נִ֥ים past ri·šō·nîm עֲוֺנֹ֪ת sins ‘ă·wō·nōṯ לָנוּ֮ against us ; lā·nū רַחֲמֶ֑יךָ let Your compassion ra·ḥă·me·ḵā יְקַדְּמ֣וּנוּ come yə·qad·də·mū·nū מַ֭הֵר quickly , ma·hêr כִּ֖י for kî דַלּ֣וֹנוּ we are brought ḏal·lō·w·nū מְאֹֽד׃ low . mə·’ōḏ Psalm 79:9 עָזְרֵ֤נוּ׀ Help us , ‘ā·zə·rê·nū אֱלֹ֘הֵ֤י O God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׁעֵ֗נוּ of our salvation , yiš·‘ê·nū עַל־ for ‘al- דְּבַ֥ר . . . də·ḇar כְּבֽוֹד־ the glory kə·ḇō·wḏ- שְׁמֶ֑ךָ of Your name ; šə·me·ḵā וְהַצִּילֵ֥נוּ deliver us wə·haṣ·ṣî·lê·nū וְכַפֵּ֥ר and atone wə·ḵap·pêr עַל־ for ‘al- חַ֝טֹּאתֵ֗ינוּ our sins , ḥaṭ·ṭō·ṯê·nū לְמַ֣עַן for the sake lə·ma·‘an שְׁמֶֽךָ׃ of Your name . šə·me·ḵā Psalm 79:10 לָ֤מָּה׀ Why lām·māh הַגּוֹיִם֮ should the nations hag·gō·w·yim יֹאמְר֣וּ ask , yō·mə·rū אַיֵּ֪ה “ Where ’ay·yêh אֱ is their God ? ” ’ĕlō·hê·hem לְעֵינֵ֑ינוּ Before our eyes , lə·‘ê·nê·nū יִוָּדַ֣ע make known yiw·wā·ḏa‘ בַּגִּיִּים among the nations bag·gī·yīm נִ֝קְמַ֗ת Your vengeance niq·maṯ דַּֽם־ for the bloodshed dam- הַשָּׁפֽוּךְ׃ . . . haš·šā·p̄ūḵ עֲבָדֶ֥יךָ of Your servants . ‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā Psalm 79:11 אֶנְקַ֪ת May the groans ’en·qaṯ אָ֫סִ֥יר of the captives ’ā·sîr תָּ֤ב֣וֹא reach You tā·ḇō·w לְפָנֶיךָ֮ . . . ; lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā כְּגֹ֥דֶל by the strength kə·ḡō·ḏel זְרוֹעֲךָ֑ of Your arm zə·rō·w·‘ă·ḵā ה֝וֹתֵ֗ר preserve hō·w·ṯêr בְּנֵ֣י those condemned bə·nê תְמוּתָֽה׃ to death . ṯə·mū·ṯāh Psalm 79:12 וְהָ֘שֵׁ֤ב Pay back wə·hā·šêḇ אֶל־ into ’el- חֵיקָ֑ם the laps ḥê·qām
