Psalm 78:57 וַיִּסֹּ֣גוּ They turned back way·yis·sō·ḡū וַֽ֭יִּבְגְּדוּ and were faithless way·yiḇ·gə·ḏū כַּאֲבוֹתָ֑ם like their fathers , ka·’ă·ḇō·w·ṯām נֶ֝הְפְּכ֗וּ twisted neh·pə·ḵū רְמִיָּֽה׃ like a faulty rə·mî·yāh כְּקֶ֣שֶׁת bow . kə·qe·šeṯ Psalm 78:58 וַיַּכְעִיס֥וּהוּ They enraged Him way·yaḵ·‘î·sū·hū בְּבָמוֹתָ֑ם with their high places bə·ḇā·mō·w·ṯām יַקְנִיאֽוּהוּ׃ and provoked His jealousy yaq·nî·’ū·hū וּ֝בִפְסִילֵיהֶ֗ם with their idols . ū·ḇip̄·sî·lê·hem Psalm 78:59 שָׁמַ֣ע On hearing it , šā·ma‘ אֱ֭לֹהִים God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַֽיִּתְעַבָּ֑ר was furious way·yiṯ·‘ab·bār וַיִּמְאַ֥ס and rejected way·yim·’as בְּיִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel bə·yiś·rā·’êl מְ֝אֹ֗ד completely . mə·’ōḏ Psalm 78:60 וַ֭יִּטֹּשׁ He abandoned way·yiṭ·ṭōš מִשְׁכַּ֣ן the tabernacle miš·kan שִׁל֑וֹ of Shiloh , ši·lōw אֹ֝֗הֶל the tent ’ō·hel שִׁכֵּ֥ן He had pitched šik·kên בָּאָדָֽם׃ among men . bā·’ā·ḏām Psalm 78:61 וַיִּתֵּ֣ן He delivered way·yit·tên עֻזּ֑וֹ His strength ‘uz·zōw לַשְּׁבִ֣י to captivity , laš·šə·ḇî וְֽתִפְאַרְתּ֥וֹ and His splendor wə·ṯip̄·’ar·tōw בְיַד־ to the hand ḇə·yaḏ- צָֽר׃ of the adversary . ṣār Psalm 78:62 וַיַּסְגֵּ֣ר He surrendered way·yas·gêr עַמּ֑וֹ His people ‘am·mōw לַחֶ֣רֶב to the sword la·ḥe·reḇ הִתְעַבָּֽר׃ because He was enraged hiṯ·‘ab·bār וּ֝בְנַחֲלָת֗וֹ by His heritage . ū·ḇə·na·ḥă·lā·ṯōw Psalm 78:63 אֵ֑שׁ Fire ’êš אָֽכְלָה־ consumed ’ā·ḵə·lāh- בַּחוּרָ֥יו His young men , ba·ḥū·rāw וּ֝בְתוּלֹתָ֗יו and their maidens ū·ḇə·ṯū·lō·ṯāw לֹ֣א were left without lō הוּלָּֽלוּ׃ wedding songs . hūl·lā·lū Psalm 78:64 כֹּ֭הֲנָיו His priests kō·hă·nāw נָפָ֑לוּ fell nā·p̄ā·lū בַּחֶ֣רֶב by the sword , ba·ḥe·reḇ וְ֝אַלְמְנֹתָ֗יו but their widows wə·’al·mə·nō·ṯāw לֹ֣א could not lō תִבְכֶּֽינָה׃ lament . ṯiḇ·ke·nāh Psalm 78:65 אֲדֹנָ֑י Then the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy וַיִּקַ֖ץ awoke way·yi·qaṣ כְּיָשֵׁ֥ן׀ as from sleep , kə·yā·šên כְּ֝גִבּ֗וֹר like a mighty warrior kə·ḡib·bō·wr מִתְרוֹנֵ֥ן overcome miṯ·rō·w·nên מִיָּֽיִן׃ by wine . mî·yā·yin Psalm 78:66 וַיַּךְ־ He beat way·yaḵ- אָח֑וֹר back ’ā·ḥō·wr צָרָ֥יו His foes ; ṣā·rāw נָ֣תַן He put them to nā·ṯan לָֽמוֹ׃ . . . lā·mōw ע֝וֹלָ֗ם everlasting ‘ō·w·lām חֶרְפַּ֥ת shame . ḥer·paṯ Psalm 78:67 וַ֭יִּמְאַס He rejected way·yim·’as בְּאֹ֣הֶל the tent bə·’ō·hel יוֹסֵ֑ף of Joseph yō·w·sêp̄ לֹ֣א and refused lō בָחָֽר׃ . . . ḇā·ḥār וּֽבְשֵׁ֥בֶט the tribe ū·ḇə·šê·ḇeṭ אֶ֝פְרַ֗יִם of Ephraim . ’ep̄·ra·yim
