Psalm 78:38 וְה֤וּא And yet He wə·hū רַח֨וּם׀ was compassionate ; ra·ḥūm יְכַפֵּ֥ר He forgave yə·ḵap·pêr עָוֺן֮ [their] iniquity ‘ā·wōn וְֽלֹא־ and did not wə·lō- יַ֫שְׁחִ֥ית destroy them . yaš·ḥîṯ וְ֭הִרְבָּה He often wə·hir·bāh אַפּ֑וֹ restrained His anger ’ap·pōw לְהָשִׁ֣יב . . . lə·hā·šîḇ וְלֹֽא־ and did not wə·lō- יָ֝עִיר unleash yā·‘îr כָּל־ vvv kāl- חֲמָתֽוֹ׃ His full wrath . ḥă·mā·ṯōw Psalm 78:39 וַ֭יִּזְכֹּר He remembered way·yiz·kōr כִּי־ that kî- הֵ֑מָּה they hêm·māh בָשָׂ֣ר were but flesh , ḇā·śār ה֝וֹלֵ֗ךְ a passing hō·w·lêḵ ר֥וּחַ breeze rū·aḥ וְלֹ֣א that does not wə·lō יָשֽׁוּב׃ return . yā·šūḇ Psalm 78:40 כַּ֭מָּה How often kam·māh יַמְר֣וּהוּ they disobeyed Him yam·rū·hū בַמִּדְבָּ֑ר in the wilderness ḇam·miḏ·bār יַ֝עֲצִיב֗וּהוּ and grieved Him ya·‘ă·ṣî·ḇū·hū בִּֽישִׁימֽוֹן׃ in the desert ! bî·šî·mō·wn Psalm 78:41 וַיָּשׁ֣וּבוּ Again and again way·yā·šū·ḇū וַיְנַסּ֣וּ they tested way·nas·sū אֵ֑ל God ’êl הִתְווּ׃ and provoked hiṯ·wū וּקְד֖וֹשׁ the Holy ū·qə·ḏō·wōš יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל One of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl Psalm 78:42 לֹא־ They did not lō- זָכְר֥וּ remember zā·ḵə·rū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יָד֑וֹ His power — yā·ḏōw י֝֗וֹם the day yō·wm אֲ - ’ăšer- פָּדָ֥ם He redeemed them pā·ḏām מִנִּי־ from min·nî- צָֽר׃ the adversary , ṣār Psalm 78:43 אֲשֶׁר־ when ’ă·šer- שָׂ֣ם He performed śām אֹֽתוֹתָ֑יו His signs ’ō·ṯō·w·ṯāw בְּ֭מִצְרַיִם in Egypt bə·miṣ·ra·yim וּ֝מוֹפְתָ֗יו and His wonders ū·mō·wp̄·ṯāw בִּשְׂדֵה־ in the fields biś·ḏêh- צֹֽעַן׃ of Zoan . ṣō·‘an Psalm 78:44 וַיַּהֲפֹ֣ךְ He turned way·ya·hă·p̄ōḵ יְאֹרֵיהֶ֑ם their rivers yə·’ō·rê·hem לְ֭דָם to blood , lə·ḏām וְ֝נֹזְלֵיהֶ֗ם and from their streams wə·nō·zə·lê·hem בַּל־ they could not bal- יִשְׁתָּיֽוּן׃ drink . yiš·tā·yūn Psalm 78:45 יְשַׁלַּ֬ח He sent yə·šal·laḥ בָּהֶ֣ם - bā·hem עָ֭רֹב swarms of flies ‘ā·rōḇ וַיֹּאכְלֵ֑ם that devoured them , way·yō·ḵə·lêm וּ֝צְפַרְדֵּ֗עַ and frogs ū·ṣə·p̄ar·dê·a‘ וַתַּשְׁחִיתֵֽם׃ that devastated them . wat·taš·ḥî·ṯêm Psalm 78:46 וַיִּתֵּ֣ן He gave way·yit·tên יְבוּלָ֑ם their crops yə·ḇū·lām לֶחָסִ֣יל to the grasshopper , le·ḥā·sîl וִֽ֝יגִיעָ֗ם the fruit of their labor wî·ḡî·‘ām לָאַרְבֶּֽה׃ to the locust . lā·’ar·beh Psalm 78:47 יַהֲרֹ֣ג He killed ya·hă·rōḡ גַּפְנָ֑ם their vines gap̄·nām בַּבָּרָ֣ד with hailstones bab·bā·rāḏ וְ֝שִׁקְמוֹתָ֗ם and their sycamore-figs wə·šiq·mō·w·ṯām בַּֽחֲנָמַֽל׃ with sleet . ba·ḥă·nā·mal
