שְׁאֵ֑ר meat šə·’êr עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם on them ‘ă·lê·hem כֶּעָפָ֣ר like dust , ke·‘ā·p̄ār כָּנָֽף׃ and winged kā·nāp̄ ע֣וֹף birds ‘ō·wp̄ וּֽכְח֥וֹל like the sand ū·ḵə·ḥō·wl יַ֝מִּ֗ים of the sea . yam·mîm Psalm 78:28 וַ֭יַּפֵּל He felled them way·yap·pêl בְּקֶ֣רֶב in the midst bə·qe·reḇ מַחֲנֵ֑הוּ of their camp , ma·ḥă·nê·hū סָ֝בִ֗יב all around sā·ḇîḇ לְמִשְׁכְּנֹתָֽיו׃ their dwellings . lə·miš·kə·nō·ṯāw Psalm 78:29 וַיֹּאכְל֣וּ So they ate way·yō·ḵə·lū מְאֹ֑ד and were well mə·’ōḏ וַיִּשְׂבְּע֣וּ filled , way·yiś·bə·‘ū יָבִ֥א for He gave yā·ḇi לָהֶֽם׃ them lā·hem וְ֝תַֽאֲוָתָ֗ם what they craved . wə·ṯa·’ă·wā·ṯām Psalm 78:30 לֹא־ Yet lō- זָר֥וּ before they had filled zā·rū מִתַּאֲוָתָ֑ם their desire , mit·ta·’ă·wā·ṯām אָכְלָ֥ם with the food ’ā·ḵə·lām ע֝֗וֹד still ‘ō·wḏ בְּפִיהֶֽם׃ in their mouths , bə·p̄î·hem Psalm 78:31 אֱלֹהִ֨ים׀ God’s ’ĕ·lō·hîm וְאַ֤ף anger wə·’ap̄ עָ֘לָ֤ה flared ‘ā·lāh בָהֶ֗ם against them , ḇā·hem וַֽ֭יַּהֲרֹג and He put to death way·ya·hă·rōḡ בְּמִשְׁמַנֵּיהֶ֑ם their strongest bə·miš·man·nê·hem הִכְרִֽיעַ׃ and subdued hiḵ·rî·a‘ וּבַחוּרֵ֖י the young men ū·ḇa·ḥū·rê יִשְׂרָאֵ֣ל of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl Psalm 78:32 בְּכָל־ In spite of all bə·ḵāl זֹ֭את this , zōṯ חָֽטְאוּ־ they kept on sinning ; ḥā·ṭə·’ū- ע֑וֹד despite ‘ō·wḏ בְּנִפְלְאוֹתָֽיו׃ His wonderful works , bə·nip̄·lə·’ō·w·ṯāw וְלֹֽא־ they did not wə·lō- הֶ֝אֱמִ֗ינוּ believe . he·’ĕ·mî·nū Psalm 78:33 וַיְכַל־ So He ended way·ḵal- יְמֵיהֶ֑ם their days yə·mê·hem בַּהֶ֥בֶל in futility , ba·he·ḇel וּ֝שְׁנוֹתָ֗ם and their years ū·šə·nō·w·ṯām בַּבֶּהָלָֽה׃ in sudden terror . bab·be·hā·lāh Psalm 78:34 אִם־ When ’im- הֲרָגָ֥ם He slew them , hă·rā·ḡām וּדְרָשׁ֑וּהוּ they would seek Him ; ū·ḏə·rā·šū·hū וְ֝שָׁ֗בוּ they repented wə·šā·ḇū וְשִֽׁחֲרוּ־ and searched for wə·ši·ḥă·rū- אֵֽל׃ God . ’êl Psalm 78:35 וַֽ֭יִּזְכְּרוּ And they remembered way·yiz·kə·rū כִּֽי־ that kî- אֱלֹהִ֣ים God ’ĕ·lō·hîm צוּרָ֑ם was their Rock , ṣū·rām וְאֵ֥ל that God wə·’êl עֶ֝לְיוֹן Most High ‘el·yō·wn גֹּאֲלָֽם׃ was their Redeemer . gō·’ă·lām Psalm 78:36 וַיְפַתּ֥וּהוּ But they deceived Him way·p̄at·tū·hū בְּפִיהֶ֑ם with their mouths , bə·p̄î·hem יְכַזְּבוּ־ and lied yə·ḵaz·zə·ḇū- לֽוֹ׃ to Him lōw וּ֝בִלְשׁוֹנָ֗ם with their tongues . ū·ḇil·šō·w·nām Psalm 78:37 וְ֭לִבָּם Their hearts wə·lib·bām לֹא־ were disloyal lō- נָכ֣וֹן . . . nā·ḵō·wn עִמּ֑וֹ to Him , ‘im·mōw וְלֹ֥א and they were unfaithful wə·lō נֶ֝אֶמְנ֗וּ . . . ne·’em·nū בִּבְרִיתֽוֹ׃ to His covenant . biḇ·rî·ṯōw
