בְּֽיַד־ by the hand bə·yaḏ- מֹשֶׁ֥ה of Moses mō·šeh וְאַהֲרֹֽן׃ and Aaron . wə·’a·hă·rōn Psalm 78:1 מַשְׂכִּ֗יל A Maskil maś·kîl לְאָ֫סָ֥ף of Asaph . lə·’ā·sāp̄ הַאֲזִ֣ינָה Give ear , ha·’ă·zî·nāh עַ֭מִּי O my people , ‘am·mî תּוֹרָתִ֑י to my instruction ; tō·w·rā·ṯî הַטּ֥וּ listen haṭ·ṭū אָ֝זְנְכֶ֗ם . . . ’ā·zə·nə·ḵem לְאִמְרֵי־ to the words lə·’im·rê- פִֽי׃ of my mouth . p̄î Psalm 78:2 אֶפְתְּחָ֣ה I will open ’ep̄·tə·ḥāh פִּ֑י my mouth pî בְמָשָׁ֣ל in parables ; ḇə·mā·šāl אַבִּ֥יעָה I will utter ’ab·bî·‘āh חִ֝יד֗וֹת things hidden ḥî·ḏō·wṯ מִנִּי־ from min·nî- קֶֽדֶם׃ the beginning , qe·ḏem Psalm 78:3 אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer שָׁ֭מַעְנוּ we have heard ma‘·nū וַנֵּדָעֵ֑ם and known wan·nê·ḏā·‘êm וַ֝אֲבוֹתֵ֗ינוּ and our fathers wa·’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·nū סִפְּרוּ־ have relayed sip·pə·rū- לָֽנוּ׃ to us . lā·nū Psalm 78:4 לֹ֤א We will not lō נְכַחֵ֨ד׀ hide nə·ḵa·ḥêḏ מִבְּנֵיהֶ֗ם [them] from their children , mib·bə·nê·hem מְֽ֭סַפְּרִים but will declare mə·sap·pə·rîm אַחֲר֗וֹן to the next ’a·ḥă·rō·wn לְד֥וֹר generation lə·ḏō·wr תְּהִלּ֣וֹת the praises tə·hil·lō·wṯ יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH Yah·weh וֶעֱזוּז֥וֹ and His might , we·‘ĕ·zū·zōw וְ֝נִפְלְאוֹתָ֗יו and the wonders wə·nip̄·lə·’ō·w·ṯāw אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer עָשָֽׂה׃ He has performed . ‘ā·śāh Psalm 78:5 וַיָּ֤קֶם For He established way·yā·qem עֵד֨וּת׀ a testimony ‘ê·ḏūṯ בְּֽיַעֲקֹ֗ב in Jacob bə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ שָׂ֤ם and appointed śām וְתוֹרָה֮ a law wə·ṯō·w·rāh בְּיִשְׂרָ֫אֵ֥ל in Israel , bə·yiś·rā·’êl אֲשֶׁ֣ר which ’ă·šer צִ֭וָּה He commanded ṣiw·wāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲבוֹתֵ֑ינוּ our fathers ’ă·ḇō·w·ṯê·nū לְ֝הוֹדִיעָ֗ם to teach lə·hō·w·ḏî·‘ām לִבְנֵיהֶֽם׃ to their children , liḇ·nê·hem Psalm 78:6 לְמַ֤עַן that lə·ma·‘an אַ֭חֲרוֹן the coming ’a·ḥă·rō·wn דּ֣וֹר generation dō·wr יֵדְע֨וּ׀ would know them — yê·ḏə·‘ū בָּנִ֣ים even children bā·nîm יִוָּלֵ֑דוּ yet to be born — yiw·wā·lê·ḏū יָ֝קֻ֗מוּ to arise yā·qu·mū וִֽיסַפְּר֥וּ and tell wî·sap·pə·rū לִבְנֵיהֶֽם׃ their [own] children liḇ·nê·hem Psalm 78:7 וְיָשִׂ֥ימוּ that they should put wə·yā·śî·mū כִּ֫סְלָ֥ם their confidence kis·lām בֵֽאלֹהִ֗ים in God , ḇê·lō·hîm וְלֹ֣א not wə·lō יִ֭שְׁכְּחוּ forgetting yiš·kə·ḥū אֵ֑ל [His] ’êl מַֽעַלְלֵי־ works , ma·‘al·lê- יִנְצֹֽרוּ׃ but keeping yin·ṣō·rū וּמִצְוֺתָ֥יו His commandments . ū·miṣ·wō·ṯāw Psalm 78:8 וְלֹ֤א Then they will not wə·lō יִהְי֨וּ׀ be yih·yū כַּאֲבוֹתָ֗ם like their fathers , ka·’ă·ḇō·w·ṯām סוֹרֵ֪ר a stubborn sō·w·rêr וּמֹ֫רֶ֥ה and rebellious ū·mō·reh דּוֹר֮ generation , dō·wr דּ֭וֹר - dō·wr לִבּ֑וֹ whose heart lib·bōw לֹא־ was not lō-
