וַעֲנִיֶּ֥יךָ and Your afflicted wa·‘ă·nî·ye·ḵā בְמִשְׁפָּֽט׃ with justice . ḇə·miš·pāṭ Psalm 72:3 הָרִ֓ים May the mountains hā·rîm יִשְׂא֤וּ bring yiś·’ū שָׁ֘ל֥וֹם peace šā·lō·wm לָעָ֑ם to the people , lā·‘ām וּ֝גְבָע֗וֹת and the hills ū·ḡə·ḇā·‘ō·wṯ בִּצְדָקָֽה׃ [bring] righteousness . biṣ·ḏā·qāh Psalm 72:4 יִשְׁפֹּ֤ט׀ May he vindicate yiš·pōṭ עֲ the afflicted ‘ănî·yê- עָ֗ם among the people ; ‘ām י֭וֹשִׁיעַ may he save yō·wō·šî·a‘ לִבְנֵ֣י the children liḇ·nê אֶבְי֑וֹן of the needy ’eḇ·yō·wn וִֽידַכֵּ֣א and crush wî·ḏak·kê עוֹשֵֽׁק׃ the oppressor . ‘ō·wō·šêq Psalm 72:5 יִֽירָא֥וּךָ May they fear him yî·rā·’ū·ḵā עִם־ as long as ‘im- שָׁ֑מֶשׁ the sun [shines] , šā·meš וְלִפְנֵ֥י as long as wə·lip̄·nê יָ֝רֵ֗חַ the moon [remains] , yā·rê·aḥ דּ֣וֹר through all dō·wr דּוֹרִֽים׃ generations . dō·w·rîm Psalm 72:6 כְּמָטָ֣ר May he be like rain kə·mā·ṭār יֵ֭רֵד that falls yê·rêḏ עַל־ on ‘al- גֵּ֑ז freshly cut grass , gêz כִּ֝רְבִיבִ֗ים like spring showers kir·ḇî·ḇîm זַרְזִ֥יף that water zar·zîp̄ אָֽרֶץ׃ the earth . ’ā·reṣ Psalm 72:7 צַדִּ֑יק May the righteous ṣad·dîq יִֽפְרַח־ flourish yip̄·raḥ- בְּיָמָ֥יו in his days bə·yā·māw שָׁ֝ל֗וֹם and prosperity lō·wm וְרֹ֥ב abound , wə·rōḇ עַד־ until ‘aḏ- יָרֵֽחַ׃ the moon yā·rê·aḥ בְּלִ֥י is no more . bə·lî Psalm 72:8 וְ֭יֵרְדְּ May he rule wə·yê·rəd מִיָּ֣ם from sea mî·yām עַד־ to ‘aḏ- יָ֑ם sea , yām וּ֝מִנָּהָ֗ר and from the [Euphrates] ū·min·nā·hār עַד־ to ‘aḏ- אַפְסֵי־ the ends ’ap̄·sê- אָֽרֶץ׃ of the earth . ’ā·reṣ Psalm 72:9 צִיִּ֑ים May the nomads ṣî·yîm יִכְרְע֣וּ bow yiḵ·rə·‘ū לְ֭פָנָיו before him , lə·p̄ā·nāw וְ֝אֹיְבָ֗יו and his enemies wə·’ō·yə·ḇāw יְלַחֵֽכוּ׃ lick yə·la·ḥê·ḵū עָפָ֥ר the dust . ‘ā·p̄ār Psalm 72:10 מַלְכֵ֬י May the kings mal·ḵê תַרְשִׁ֣ישׁ of Tarshish ṯar·šîš וְ֭אִיִּים and distant shores wə·’î·yîm יָשִׁ֑יבוּ bring yā·šî·ḇū מִנְחָ֣ה tribute ; min·ḥāh מַלְכֵ֥י may the kings mal·ḵê שְׁבָ֥א of Sheba šə·ḇā וּ֝סְבָ֗א and Seba ū·sə·ḇā יַקְרִֽיבוּ׃ offer yaq·rî·ḇū אֶשְׁכָּ֥ר gifts . ’eš·kār Psalm 72:11 כָל־ May all ḵāl מְלָכִ֑ים kings mə·lā·ḵîm וְיִשְׁתַּחֲווּ־ bow down wə·yiš·ta·ḥă·wū- ל֥וֹ to him lōw כָּל־ [and] all kāl- גּוֹיִ֥ם nations gō·w·yim יַֽעַבְדֽוּהוּ׃ serve him . ya·‘aḇ·ḏū·hū Psalm 72:12 כִּֽי־ For kî-
