תְדִינֵֽנִי׃ and vindicate me ṯə·ḏî·nê·nî וּבִגְבוּרָתְךָ֥ by Your might ! ū·ḇiḡ·ḇū·rā·ṯə·ḵā Psalm 54:2 שְׁמַ֣ע Hear šə·ma‘ תְּפִלָּתִ֑י my prayer , tə·p̄il·lā·ṯî אֱ֭לֹהִים O God ; ’ĕ·lō·hîm הַ֝אֲזִ֗ינָה listen ha·’ă·zî·nāh לְאִמְרֵי־ to the words lə·’im·rê- פִֽי׃ of my mouth . p̄î Psalm 54:3 כִּ֤י For kî זָרִ֨ים׀ strangers zā·rîm קָ֤מוּ rise up qā·mū עָלַ֗י against me , ‘ā·lay וְֽ֭עָרִיצִים and ruthless wə·‘ā·rî·ṣîm בִּקְשׁ֣וּ men seek biq·šū נַפְשִׁ֑י my life — nap̄·šî לֹ֤א men with no lō שָׂ֨מוּ regard śā·mū לְנֶגְדָּ֣ם . . . lə·neḡ·dām אֱלֹהִ֖ים for God . ’ĕ·lō·hîm סֶֽלָה׃ Selah se·lāh Psalm 54:4 הִנֵּ֣ה Surely hin·nêh אֱ֭לֹהִים God ’ĕ·lō·hîm עֹזֵ֣ר is my helper ‘ō·zêr לִ֑י ; lî אֲ֝דֹנָ֗י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy בְּֽסֹמְכֵ֥י is the sustainer bə·sō·mə·ḵê נַפְשִֽׁי׃ of my soul . nap̄·šî Psalm 54:5 יָשׁוֹב He will reward yå̄·šōḇ לְשֹׁרְרָ֑י my enemies lə·šō·rə·rāy הָ֭רַע with evil . hā·ra‘ בַּ֝אֲמִתְּךָ֗ In Your faithfulness , ba·’ă·mit·tə·ḵā הַצְמִיתֵֽם׃ destroy them . haṣ·mî·ṯêm Psalm 54:6 בִּנְדָבָ֥ה Freely bin·ḏā·ḇāh אֶזְבְּחָה־ I will sacrifice ’ez·bə·ḥāh- לָּ֑ךְ to You ; lāḵ א֤וֹדֶה I will praise ’ō·w·ḏeh שִּׁמְךָ֖ Your name , šim·ḵā יְהוָ֣ה O YHWH , Yah·weh כִּי־ for kî- טֽוֹב׃ it is good . ṭō·wḇ Psalm 54:7 כִּ֣י For kî הִצִּילָ֑נִי He has delivered me hiṣ·ṣî·lā·nî מִכָּל־ from every mik·kāl צָ֭רָה trouble , ṣā·rāh עֵינִֽי׃ and my eyes ‘ê·nî רָאֲתָ֥ה have stared down rā·’ă·ṯāh וּ֝בְאֹיְבַ֗י my foes . ū·ḇə·’ō·yə·ḇay Psalm 55:1 לַמְנַצֵּ֥חַ For the choirmaster . lam·naṣ·ṣê·aḥ בִּנְגִינֹ֗ת With stringed instruments . bin·ḡî·nōṯ מַשְׂכִּ֥יל A Maskil maś·kîl לְדָוִֽד׃ of David . lə·ḏā·wiḏ הַאֲזִ֣ינָה Listen ha·’ă·zî·nāh תְּפִלָּתִ֑י to my prayer , tə·p̄il·lā·ṯî אֱ֭לֹהִים O God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm וְאַל־ and do not wə·’al- תִּ֝תְעַלַּ֗ם ignore tiṯ·‘al·lam מִתְּחִנָּתִֽי׃ my plea . mit·tə·ḥin·nā·ṯî Psalm 55:2 הַקְשִׁ֣יבָה Attend haq·šî·ḇāh לִּ֣י to me lî וַעֲנֵ֑נִי and answer me . wa·‘ă·nê·nî אָרִ֖יד I am restless ’ā·rîḏ בְּשִׂיחִ֣י in my complaint , bə·śî·ḥî וְאָהִֽימָה׃ and distraught wə·’ā·hî·māh Psalm 55:3 מִקּ֤וֹל at the voice miq·qō·wl אוֹיֵ֗ב of the enemy , ’ō·w·yêḇ מִפְּנֵ֣י at mip·pə·nê עָקַ֣ת the pressure ‘ā·qaṯ רָשָׁ֑ע of the wicked . rā·šā‘ כִּי־ For kî- יָמִ֥יטוּ they release yā·mî·ṭū אָ֝֗וֶן disaster ’ā·wen עָלַ֥י upon me ‘ā·lay יִשְׂטְמֽוּנִי׃ and revile me yiś·ṭə·mū·nî
