Psalm 51:4 לְךָ֤ Against You , lə·ḵā לְבַדְּךָ֨׀ You only , lə·ḇad·də·ḵā חָטָאתִי֮ have I sinned ḥā·ṭā·ṯî עָ֫שִׂ֥יתִי and done ‘ā·śî·ṯî וְהָרַ֥ע what is evil wə·hā·ra‘ בְּעֵינֶ֗יךָ in Your sight , bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā לְ֭מַעַן so that lə·ma·‘an תִּצְדַּ֥ק You may be proved right tiṣ·daq בְּדָבְרֶ֗ךָ when You speak bə·ḏā·ḇə·re·ḵā תִּזְכֶּ֥ה and blameless tiz·keh בְשָׁפְטֶֽךָ׃ when You judge . ḇə·šā·p̄ə·ṭe·ḵā Psalm 51:5 הֵן־ Surely hên- חוֹלָ֑לְתִּי I was brought forth ḥō·w·lā·lə·tî בְּעָו֥וֹן in iniquity ; bə·‘ā·wō·wn וּ֝בְחֵ֗טְא I was sinful ū·ḇə·ḥêṭ אִמִּֽי׃ when my mother ’im·mî יֶֽחֱמַ֥תְנִי conceived me . ye·ḥĕ·maṯ·nî Psalm 51:6 הֵן־ Surely hên- חָפַ֣צְתָּ You desire ḥā·p̄aṣ·tā אֱ֭מֶת truth ’ĕ·meṯ בַטֻּח֑וֹת in the inmost being ; ḇaṭ·ṭu·ḥō·wṯ תוֹדִיעֵֽנִי׃ You teach me ṯō·w·ḏî·‘ê·nî חָכְמָ֥ה wisdom ḥāḵ·māh וּ֝בְסָתֻ֗ם in the inmost place . ū·ḇə·sā·ṯum Psalm 51:7 תְּחַטְּאֵ֣נִי Purify me tə·ḥaṭ·ṭə·’ê·nî בְאֵז֣וֹב with hyssop , ḇə·’ê·zō·wḇ וְאֶטְהָ֑ר and I will be clean ; wə·’eṭ·hār תְּ֝כַבְּסֵ֗נִי wash me , tə·ḵab·bə·sê·nî אַלְבִּֽין׃ and I will be whiter ’al·bîn וּמִשֶּׁ֥לֶג than snow . ū·miš·še·leḡ Psalm 51:8 תַּ֭שְׁמִיעֵנִי Let me hear taš·mî·‘ê·nî שָׂשׂ֣וֹן joy śā·śō·wn וְשִׂמְחָ֑ה and gladness ; wə·śim·ḥāh עֲצָמ֥וֹת let the bones ‘ă·ṣā·mō·wṯ דִּכִּֽיתָ׃ You have crushed dik·kî·ṯā תָּ֝גֵ֗לְנָה rejoice . tā·ḡê·lə·nāh Psalm 51:9 הַסְתֵּ֣ר Hide has·têr פָּ֭נֶיךָ Your face pā·ne·ḵā מֵחֲטָאָ֑י from my sins mê·ḥă·ṭā·’āy מְחֵֽה׃ and blot out mə·ḥêh וְֽכָל־ all wə·ḵāl עֲוֺ֖נֹתַ֣י my iniquities . ‘ă·wō·nō·ṯay Psalm 51:10 בְּרָא־ Create bə·rā- לִ֣י in me lî טָ֭הוֹר a clean ṭā·hō·wr לֵ֣ב heart , lêḇ אֱלֹהִ֑ים O God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm חַדֵּ֥שׁ and renew ḥad·dêš נָ֝כ֗וֹן a right nā·ḵō·wn וְר֥וּחַ spirit wə·rū·aḥ בְּקִרְבִּֽי׃ within me . bə·qir·bî Psalm 51:11 תַּשְׁלִיכֵ֥נִי Cast me not away taš·lî·ḵê·nî אַל־ . . . ’al- מִלְּפָנֶ֑יךָ from Your presence ; mil·lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā תִּקַּ֥ח take tiq·qaḥ אַל־ not ’al- קָ֝דְשְׁךָ֗ Your Holy qāḏ·šə·ḵā וְר֥וּחַ Spirit wə·rū·aḥ מִמֶּֽנִּי׃ from me . mim·men·nî Psalm 51:12 הָשִׁ֣יבָה Restore hā·šî·ḇāh לִּ֭י to me lî שְׂשׂ֣וֹן the joy śə·śō·wn יִשְׁעֶ֑ךָ of Your salvation , yiš·‘e·ḵā תִסְמְכֵֽנִי׃ and sustain me ṯis·mə·ḵê·nî נְדִיבָ֣ה with a willing nə·ḏî·ḇāh וְר֖וּחַ spirit . wə·rū·aḥ Psalm 51:13 אֲלַמְּדָ֣ה Then I will teach ’ă·lam·mə·ḏāh פֹשְׁעִ֣ים transgressors p̄ō·šə·‘îm דְּרָכֶ֑יךָ Your ways , də·rā·ḵe·ḵā וְ֝חַטָּאִ֗ים and sinners wə·ḥaṭ·ṭā·’îm
