לֹ֣א . . . lō יִרְאוּ־ see yir·’ū- אֽוֹר׃ the light of day . ’ō·wr Psalm 49:20 אָדָ֣ם A man ’ā·ḏām בִּ֭יקָר who has riches bî·qār וְלֹ֣א without wə·lō יָבִ֑ין understanding yā·ḇîn נִמְשַׁ֖ל is like nim·šal כַּבְּהֵמ֣וֹת the beasts kab·bə·hê·mō·wṯ נִדְמֽוּ׃ that perish . niḏ·mū Psalm 50:1 מִזְמ֗וֹר A Psalm miz·mō·wr לְאָ֫סָ֥ף of Asaph . lə·’ā·sāp̄ אֵ֤ל׀ The Mighty One , ’êl אֱ God ’ĕlō·hîm יְֽהוָ֗ה YHWH , Yah·weh דִּבֶּ֥ר speaks dib·ber וַיִּקְרָא־ and summons way·yiq·rā- אָ֑רֶץ the earth ’ā·reṣ מִמִּזְרַח־ from where the sun rises mim·miz·ra·ḥō·še- עַד־ to ‘aḏ- מְבֹאֽוֹ׃ where it sets mə·ḇō·’ōw שֶׁ֝֗מֶשׁ . . . . meš Psalm 50:2 מִצִּיּ֥וֹן From Zion , miṣ·ṣî·yō·wn מִכְלַל־ perfect miḵ·lal- יֹ֗פִי in beauty , yō·p̄î אֱלֹהִ֥ים God ’ĕ·lō·hîm הוֹפִֽיעַ׃ shines forth . hō·w·p̄î·a‘ Psalm 50:3 אֱלֹהֵ֗ינוּ Our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū יָ֤בֹ֥א approaches yā·ḇō וְֽאַל־ and will not wə·’al- יֶ֫חֱרַ֥שׁ be silent ! ye·ḥĕ·raš תֹּאכֵ֑ל Consuming tō·ḵêl אֵשׁ־ fire ’êš- לְפָנָ֥יו precedes Him , lə·p̄ā·nāw נִשְׂעֲרָ֥ה and a tempest niś·‘ă·rāh מְאֹֽד׃ . . . mə·’ōḏ וּ֝סְבִיבָ֗יו rages around Him . ū·sə·ḇî·ḇāw Psalm 50:4 יִקְרָ֣א He summons yiq·rā אֶל־ . . . ’el- הַשָּׁמַ֣יִם the heavens haš·šā·ma·yim מֵעָ֑ל above , mê·‘āl וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ and the earth , hā·’ā·reṣ לָדִ֥ין that He may judge lā·ḏîn עַמּֽוֹ׃ His people : ‘am·mōw Psalm 50:5 אִסְפוּ־ “ Gather ’is·p̄ū- לִ֥י to Me lî חֲסִידָ֑י My saints , ḥă·sî·ḏāy כֹּרְתֵ֖י who made kō·rə·ṯê בְרִיתִ֣י a covenant ḇə·rî·ṯî עֲלֵי־ with Me ‘ă·lê- זָֽבַח׃ by sacrifice . ” zā·ḇaḥ Psalm 50:6 שָׁמַ֣יִם And the heavens šā·ma·yim וַיַּגִּ֣ידוּ proclaim way·yag·gî·ḏū צִדְק֑וֹ His righteousness , ṣiḏ·qōw כִּֽי־ for kî- אֱלֹהִ֓ים׀ God ’ĕ·lō·hîm ה֣וּא Himself hū שֹׁפֵ֖ט is Judge . šō·p̄êṭ סֶֽלָה׃ Selah se·lāh Psalm 50:7 שִׁמְעָ֤ה “ Hear , šim·‘āh עַמִּ֨י׀ O My people , ‘am·mî וַאֲדַבֵּ֗רָה and I will speak , wa·’ă·ḏab·bê·rāh יִ֭שְׂרָאֵל O Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וְאָעִ֣ידָה and I will testify wə·’ā·‘î·ḏāh בָּ֑ךְ against you : bāḵ אָנֹֽכִי׃ I ’ā·nō·ḵî אֱלֹהִ֖ים am God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm אֱלֹהֶ֣יךָ your God . ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā Psalm 50:8 לֹ֣א I do not lō אוֹכִיחֶ֑ךָ rebuke ’ō·w·ḵî·ḥe·ḵā עַל־ you for ‘al- זְ֭בָחֶיךָ your sacrifices , zə·ḇā·ḥe·ḵā
