אָ֭נִי as I ’ā·nî אֹמֵ֣ר recite ’ō·mêr מַעֲשַׂ֣י my verses ma·‘ă·śay לְמֶ֑לֶךְ to the king ; lə·me·leḵ לְ֝שׁוֹנִ֗י my tongue lə·šō·w·nî עֵ֤ט׀ is the pen ‘êṭ מָהִֽיר׃ of a skillful mā·hîr סוֹפֵ֬ר writer . sō·w·p̄êr Psalm 45:2 יָפְיָפִ֡יתָ You are the most handsome yā·p̄ə·yā·p̄î·ṯā מִבְּנֵ֬י of men mib·bə·nê אָדָ֗ם . . . ; ’ā·ḏām חֵ֭ן grace ḥên ה֣וּצַק has anointed hū·ṣaq בְּשְׂפְתוֹתֶ֑יךָ your lips , bə·śə·p̄ə·ṯō·w·ṯe·ḵā עַל־ since ‘al- כֵּ֤ן . . . kên אֱלֹהִ֣ים God ’ĕ·lō·hîm בֵּֽרַכְךָ֖ has blessed you forever bê·raḵ·ḵā לְעוֹלָֽם׃ . . . . lə·‘ō·w·lām Psalm 45:3 חֲגֽוֹר־ Strap ḥă·ḡō·wr- חַרְבְּךָ֣ your sword ḥar·bə·ḵā עַל־ at ‘al- יָרֵ֣ךְ your side , yā·rêḵ גִּבּ֑וֹר O mighty warrior ; gib·bō·wr ה֝וֹדְךָ֗ appear in your majesty hō·wḏ·ḵā וַהֲדָרֶֽךָ׃ and splendor . wa·hă·ḏā·re·ḵā Psalm 45:4 וַהֲדָ֬רְךָ֨׀ In your splendor wa·hă·ḏā·rə·ḵā רְכַ֗ב ride forth rə·ḵaḇ צְלַ֬ח in victory ṣə·laḥ עַֽל־ on ‘al- דְּבַר־ behalf də·ḇar- אֱ֭מֶת of truth ’ĕ·meṯ וְעַנְוָה־ and humility wə·‘an·wāh- צֶ֑דֶק and justice ; ṣe·ḏeq יְמִינֶֽךָ׃ may your right hand yə·mî·ne·ḵā וְתוֹרְךָ֖ show wə·ṯō·wr·ḵā נוֹרָא֣וֹת your awesome deeds . nō·w·rā·’ō·wṯ Psalm 45:5 חִצֶּ֗יךָ Your arrows ḥiṣ·ṣe·ḵā שְׁנ֫וּנִ֥ים pierce šə·nū·nîm בְּ֝לֵ֗ב the hearts bə·lêḇ הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ of the king’s ham·me·leḵ אוֹיְבֵ֥י foes ; ’ō·wy·ḇê עַ֭מִּים the nations ‘am·mîm יִפְּל֑וּ fall yip·pə·lū תַּחְתֶּ֣יךָ beneath your feet . taḥ·te·ḵā Psalm 45:6 כִּסְאֲךָ֣ Your throne , kis·’ă·ḵā אֱ֭לֹהִים O God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm עוֹלָ֣ם [endures] forever ‘ō·w·lām וָעֶ֑ד and ever , wā·‘eḏ שֵׁ֥בֶט [and] šê·ḇeṭ מִ֝ישֹׁ֗ר justice mî·šōr שֵׁ֣בֶט [is] the scepter šê·ḇeṭ מַלְכוּתֶֽךָ׃ of Your kingdom . mal·ḵū·ṯe·ḵā Psalm 45:7 אָהַ֣בְתָּ You have loved ’ā·haḇ·tā צֶּדֶק֮ righteousness ṣe·ḏeq וַתִּשְׂנָ֫א and hated wat·tiś·nā רֶ֥שַׁע wickedness ; re·ša‘ עַל־ therefore ‘al- כֵּ֤ן׀ . . . kên אֱלֹהִ֣ים God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm אֱ֭לֹהֶיךָ your God , ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā מְשָׁחֲךָ֡ has anointed you mə·šā·ḥă·ḵā מֵֽחֲבֵרֶֽיךָ׃ above your companions mê·ḥă·ḇê·re·ḵā שֶׁ֥מֶן with the oil še·men שָׂשׂ֗וֹן of joy . śā·śō·wn Psalm 45:8 כָּל־ All kāl- בִּגְדֹתֶ֑יךָ your garments [are fragrant] biḡ·ḏō·ṯe·ḵā מֹר־ with myrrh mōr- וַאֲהָל֣וֹת and aloes wa·’ă·hā·lō·wṯ קְ֭צִיעוֹת and cassia ; qə·ṣî·‘ō·wṯ מִֽן־ from min- הֵ֥יכְלֵי palaces hê·ḵə·lê שֵׁ֝֗ן of ivory n מִנִּ֥י the harps min·nî שִׂמְּחֽוּךָ׃ make you glad . śim·mə·ḥū·ḵā Psalm 45:9 בְּנ֣וֹת The daughters bə·nō·wṯ
