לָֽמָּה־ Why lām·māh- אֵלֵ֗ךְ must I walk ’ê·lêḵ קֹדֵ֥ר in sorrow qō·ḏêr אוֹיֵֽב׃ because of the enemy’s ’ō·w·yêḇ בְּלַ֣חַץ oppression ? ” bə·la·ḥaṣ Psalm 42:10 בְּרֶ֤צַח׀ Like the crushing bə·re·ṣaḥ בְּֽעַצְמוֹתַ֗י of my bones , bə·‘aṣ·mō·w·ṯay צוֹרְרָ֑י my enemies ṣō·wr·rāy חֵרְפ֥וּנִי taunt me , ḥê·rə·p̄ū·nî בְּאָמְרָ֥ם while they say bə·’ā·mə·rām אֵלַ֥י to me ’ê·lay כָּל־ all kāl- הַ֝יּ֗וֹם day long , hay·yō·wm אַיֵּ֥ה “ Where ’ay·yêh אֱלֹהֶֽיךָ׃ is your God ? ” ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā Psalm 42:11 מַה־ Why mah- תִּשְׁתּ֬וֹחֲחִ֨י׀ are you downcast , tiš·tō·w·ḥă·ḥî נַפְשִׁי֮ O my soul ? nap̄·šî וּֽמַה־ Why ū·mah- תֶּהֱמִ֪י the unease te·hĕ·mî עָ֫לָ֥י within me ? ‘ā·lāy הוֹחִ֣ילִי Put your hope hō·w·ḥî·lî לֵֽ֭אלֹהִים in God , lê·lō·hîm כִּי־ for kî- ע֣וֹד I will yet ‘ō·wḏ אוֹדֶ֑נּוּ praise Him , ’ō·w·ḏen·nū יְשׁוּעֹ֥ת my Savior yə·šū·‘ōṯ פָּ֝נַ֗י . . . pā·nay וֵֽאלֹהָֽי׃ and my God . wê·lō·hāy Psalm 43:1 שָׁפְטֵ֤נִי Vindicate me , šā·p̄ə·ṭê·nî אֱלֹהִ֨ים׀ O God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm וְרִ֘יבָ֤ה and plead wə·rî·ḇāh רִיבִ֗י my case rî·ḇî לֹא־ against an ungodly lō- חָסִ֑יד . . . ḥā·sîḏ מִגּ֥וֹי nation ; mig·gō·w תְפַלְּטֵֽנִי׃ deliver me ṯə·p̄al·lə·ṭê·nî מִרְמָ֖ה from deceitful mir·māh וְעַוְלָ֣ה and unjust wə·‘aw·lāh מֵ֤אִישׁ־ men . mê·’îš- Psalm 43:2 כִּֽי־ For kî- אַתָּ֤ה׀ You ’at·tāh אֱלֹהֵ֣י are the God ’ĕ·lō·hê מָֽעוּזִּי֮ of my refuge . mā·‘ūz·zî לָמָ֪ה Why lā·māh זְנַ֫חְתָּ֥נִי have You rejected me ? zə·naḥ·tā·nî לָֽמָּה־ Why lām·māh- אֶתְהַלֵּ֗ךְ must I walk ’eṯ·hal·lêḵ קֹדֵ֥ר in sorrow qō·ḏêr אוֹיֵֽב׃ because of the enemy’s ’ō·w·yêḇ בְּלַ֣חַץ oppression ? bə·la·ḥaṣ Psalm 43:3 שְׁלַח־ Send out šə·laḥ- אוֹרְךָ֣ Your light ’ō·wr·ḵā וַ֭אֲמִתְּךָ and Your truth ; wa·’ă·mit·tə·ḵā הֵ֣מָּה let them hêm·māh יַנְח֑וּנִי lead me . yan·ḥū·nî יְבִיא֥וּנִי Let them bring me yə·ḇî·’ū·nî אֶל־ to ’el- קָ֝דְשְׁךָ֗ Your holy qāḏ·šə·ḵā הַֽר־ mountain , har- וְאֶל־ and to wə·’el- מִשְׁכְּנוֹתֶֽיךָ׃ the place where You dwell . miš·kə·nō·w·ṯe·ḵā Psalm 43:4 וְאָב֤וֹאָה׀ Then I will go wə·’ā·ḇō·w·’āh אֶל־ to ’el- מִזְבַּ֬ח the altar miz·baḥ אֱלֹהִ֗ים of God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm אֶל־ to ’el- אֵל֮ God , ’êl שִׂמְחַ֪ת my greatest joy śim·ḥaṯ גִּ֫ילִ֥י . . . . gî·lî וְאוֹדְךָ֥ I will praise wə·’ō·wḏ·ḵā בְכִנּ֗וֹר You with the harp , ḇə·ḵin·nō·wr אֱלֹהִ֥ים O God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm אֱלֹהָֽי׃ my God . ’ĕ·lō·hāy Psalm 43:5 מַה־ Why mah- תִּשְׁתּ֬וֹחֲחִ֨י׀ are you downcast , tiš·tō·w·ḥă·ḥî נַפְשִׁי֮ O my soul ? nap̄·šî וּֽמַה־ Why ū·mah- תֶּהֱמִ֪י the unease te·hĕ·mî
