נֶ֣פֶשׁ - ne·p̄eš עֲבָדָ֑יו His servants , ‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw כָּֽל־ and kāl- וְלֹ֥א none wə·lō הַחֹסִ֥ים who take refuge ha·ḥō·sîm בּֽוֹ׃ in Him bōw יֶ֝אְשְׁמ֗וּ will be condemned . ye’·šə·mū Psalm 35:1 לְדָוִ֨ד׀ Of David . lə·ḏā·wiḏ רִיבָ֣ה Contend rî·ḇāh יְרִיבַ֑י with my opponents , yə·rî·ḇay יְ֭הוָה O YHWH ; Yah·weh אֶת־ . . . ’eṯ- לְ֝חַ֗ם fight against those lə·ḥam אֶת־ . . . ’eṯ- לֹֽחֲמָֽי׃ who fight against me . lō·ḥă·māy Psalm 35:2 הַחֲזֵ֣ק Take up ha·ḥă·zêq מָגֵ֣ן Your shield mā·ḡên וְצִנָּ֑ה and buckler ; wə·ṣin·nāh וְ֝ק֗וּמָה arise and come wə·qū·māh בְּעֶזְרָתִֽי׃ to my aid . bə·‘ez·rā·ṯî Psalm 35:3 וְהָ֘רֵ֤ק Draw wə·hā·rêq חֲנִ֣ית the spear ḥă·nîṯ וּ֭סְגֹר and javelin ū·sə·ḡōr לִקְרַ֣את against liq·raṯ רֹדְפָ֑י my pursuers ; rō·ḏə·p̄āy אֱמֹ֥ר say ’ĕ·mōr לְ֝נַפְשִׁ֗י to my soul : lə·nap̄·šî אָֽנִי׃ “ I [am] ’ā·nî יְֽשֻׁעָתֵ֥ךְ your salvation . ” yə·šu·‘ā·ṯêḵ Psalm 35:4 מְבַקְשֵׁ֪י May those who seek mə·ḇaq·šê נַ֫פְשִׁ֥י my life nap̄·šî יֵבֹ֣שׁוּ be disgraced yê·ḇō·šū וְיִכָּלְמוּ֮ and put to shame ; wə·yik·kā·lə·mū חֹ֝שְׁבֵ֗י may those who plan ḥō·šə·ḇê רָעָתִֽי׃ to harm me rā·‘ā·ṯî יִסֹּ֣גוּ be driven back yis·sō·ḡū אָח֣וֹר . . . ’ā·ḥō·wr וְיַחְפְּר֑וּ and confounded . wə·yaḥ·pə·rū Psalm 35:5 יִֽהְי֗וּ May they be yih·yū כְּמֹ֥ץ like chaff kə·mōṣ לִפְנֵי־ in lip̄·nê- ר֑וּחַ the wind , rū·aḥ וּמַלְאַ֖ךְ as the angel ū·mal·’aḵ יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh דּוֹחֶֽה׃ drives them away . dō·w·ḥeh Psalm 35:6 דַרְכָּ֗ם May their path ḏar·kām יְֽהִי־ be yə·hî- חֹ֥שֶׁךְ dark ḥō·šeḵ וַחֲלַקְלַקּ֑וֹת and slick , wa·ḥă·laq·laq·qō·wṯ וּמַלְאַ֥ךְ as the angel ū·mal·’aḵ יְ֝הוָ֗ה of YHWH Yah·weh רֹדְפָֽם׃ pursues . rō·ḏə·p̄ām Psalm 35:7 כִּֽי־ For kî- חִנָּ֣ם without cause ḥin·nām טָֽמְנוּ־ they laid ṭā·mə·nū- רִשְׁתָּ֑ם their net riš·tām לִ֭י for me ; lî חִ֝נָּ֗ם without reason ḥin·nām חָפְר֥וּ they dug ḥā·p̄ə·rū שַׁ֣חַת a pit ša·ḥaṯ לְנַפְשִֽׁי׃ for my soul . lə·nap̄·šî Psalm 35:8 שׁוֹאָה֮ May ruin šō·w·’āh תְּבוֹאֵ֣הוּ befall them tə·ḇō·w·’ê·hū לֹֽא־ by surprise lō- יֵ֫דָ֥ע . . . ; yê·ḏā‘ וְרִשְׁתּ֣וֹ may the net wə·riš·tōw אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- טָמַ֣ן they hid ṭā·man תִּלְכְּד֑וֹ ensnare them ; til·kə·ḏōw יִפָּל־ may they fall yip·pāl- בָּֽהּ׃ into bāh בְּ֝שׁוֹאָ֗ה the hazard [they created] . bə·šō·w·’āh Psalm 35:9 וְ֭נַפְשִׁי Then my soul wə·nap̄·šî
