Job 34:36 אָבִ֗י If only ’ā·ḇî אִיּ֣וֹב Job ’î·yō·wḇ יִבָּחֵ֣ן were tried yib·bā·ḥên עַד־ to ‘aḏ- נֶ֑צַח the utmost ne·ṣaḥ עַל־ for ‘al- תְּ֝שֻׁבֹ֗ת answering tə·šu·ḇōṯ אָֽוֶן׃ like a wicked ’ā·wen בְּאַנְשֵׁי־ man . bə·’an·šê- Job 34:37 כִּ֥י For kî יֹ֘סִ֤יף he adds yō·sîp̄ פֶ֭שַׁע rebellion p̄e·ša‘ עַֽל־ to ‘al- חַטָּאת֣וֹ his sin ; ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯōw יִסְפּ֑וֹק he claps [his hands] yis·pō·wq בֵּינֵ֣ינוּ among us bê·nê·nū וְיֶ֖רֶב and multiplies wə·ye·reḇ אֲמָרָ֣יו his words ’ă·mā·rāw לָאֵֽל׃ס against God . ” lā·’êl Job 35:1 אֱלִיה֗וּ And Elihu ’ĕ·lî·hū וַיַּ֥עַן went on way·ya·‘an וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ to say : way·yō·mar Job 35:2 חָשַׁ֣בְתָּ “ Do you think ḥā·šaḇ·tā הֲ֭זֹאת this hă·zōṯ לְמִשְׁפָּ֑ט is just ? lə·miš·pāṭ אָ֝מַ֗רְתָּ You say , ’ā·mar·tā צִדְקִ֥י ‘ I am more righteous ṣiḏ·qî מֵאֵֽל׃ than God .’ mê·’êl Job 35:3 כִּֽי־ For kî- תֹ֭אמַר you ask , ṯō·mar מַה־ ‘ What mah- יִּסְכָּן־ does it profit yis·kān- לָ֑ךְ me , lāḵ מָֽה־ and what māh- אֹ֝עִ֗יל benefit do I gain ’ō·‘îl מֵֽחַטָּאתִֽי׃ apart from sin ?’ mê·ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯî Job 35:4 אֲ֭נִי I ’ă·nî אֲשִֽׁיבְךָ֣ will reply ’ă·šî·ḇə·ḵā מִלִּ֑ין to you mil·lîn וְֽאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- רֵעֶ֥יךָ and to your friends rê·‘e·ḵā עִמָּֽךְ׃ as well . ‘im·māḵ Job 35:5 הַבֵּ֣ט Look hab·bêṭ שָׁמַ֣יִם to the heavens šā·ma·yim וּרְאֵ֑ה and see ; ū·rə·’êh וְשׁ֥וּר gaze wə·šūr שְׁ֝חָקִ֗ים at the clouds ḥā·qîm גָּבְה֥וּ high gā·ḇə·hū מִמֶּֽךָּ׃ above you . mim·me·kā Job 35:6 אִם־ If ’im- חָ֭טָאתָ you sin , ḥā·ṭā·ṯā מַה־ what mah- תִּפְעָל־ do you accomplish tip̄·‘āl- בּ֑וֹ against Him ? bōw וְרַבּ֥וּ If you multiply wə·rab·bū פְ֝שָׁעֶ֗יךָ your transgressions , p̄ə·šā·‘e·ḵā מַה־ what mah- תַּעֲשֶׂה־ do you do ta·‘ă·śeh- לּֽוֹ׃ to Him ? lōw Job 35:7 אִם־ If ’im- צָ֭דַקְתָּ you are righteous , ṣā·ḏaq·tā מַה־ what mah- תִּתֶּן־ do you give tit·ten- ל֑וֹ Him , lōw א֥וֹ or ’ōw מַה־ what mah- יִקָּֽח׃ does He receive yiq·qāḥ מִיָּדְךָ֥ from your hand ? mî·yā·ḏə·ḵā Job 35:8 רִשְׁעֶ֑ךָ Your wickedness riš·‘e·ḵā לְאִישׁ־ affects only a man lə·’îš- כָּמ֥וֹךָ like yourself , kā·mō·w·ḵā צִדְקָתֶֽךָ׃ and your righteousness ṣiḏ·qā·ṯe·ḵā וּלְבֶן־ only a son ū·lə·ḇen-
