מֵֽאַחֲרָ֑יו from Him mê·’a·ḥă·rāw לֹ֣א and had no lō הִשְׂכִּֽילוּ׃ regard hiś·kî·lū וְכָל־ for any wə·ḵāl דְּ֝רָכָ֗יו of His ways . də·rā·ḵāw Job 34:28 צַֽעֲקַת־ They caused the cry ṣa·‘ă·qaṯ- דָּ֑ל of the poor dāl לְהָבִ֣יא to come lə·hā·ḇî עָ֭לָיו before Him , ‘ā·lāw יִשְׁמָֽע׃ and He heard yiš·mā‘ וְצַעֲקַ֖ת the outcry wə·ṣa·‘ă·qaṯ עֲנִיִּ֣ים of the afflicted . ‘ă·nî·yîm Job 34:29 וְה֤וּא But when He wə·hū יַשְׁקִ֨ט׀ remains silent , yaš·qiṭ וּמִ֥י who ū·mî יַרְשִׁ֗עַ can condemn Him ? yar·ši·a‘ וְיַסְתֵּ֣ר When He hides wə·yas·têr פָּ֭נִים His face , pā·nîm וּמִ֣י who ū·mî יְשׁוּרֶ֑נּוּ can see Him ? yə·šū·ren·nū וְעַל־ Yet He watches over wə·‘al- יָֽחַד׃ both yā·ḥaḏ אָדָ֣ם man ’ā·ḏām גּ֖וֹי and nation gō·w וְעַל־ . . . , wə·‘al- Job 34:30 חָנֵ֗ף that godless ḥā·nêp̄ אָדָ֥ם men ’ā·ḏām מִ֭מְּלֹךְ should not rule mim·mə·lōḵ מִמֹּ֥קְשֵׁי or lay snares mim·mō·qə·šê עָֽם׃ for the people . ‘ām Job 34:31 כִּֽי־ Suppose kî- הֶאָמַ֥ר someone says he·’ā·mar אֶל־ to ’el- אֵ֭ל God , ’êl נָשָׂ֗אתִי ‘ I have endured my punishment ; nā·śā·ṯî אֶחְבֹּֽל׃ I will offend ’eḥ·bōl לֹ֣א no more . lō Job 34:32 הֹרֵ֑נִי Teach me hō·rê·nî בִּלְעֲדֵ֣י what I cannot bil·‘ă·ḏê אֶ֭חֱזֶה see ; ’e·ḥĕ·zeh אַתָּ֣ה . . . ’at·tāh אִֽם־ if ’im- פָּ֝עַ֗לְתִּי I have done pā·‘al·tî עָ֥וֶל wrong , ‘ā·wel לֹ֣א I will not lō אֹסִֽיף׃ do it again . ’ ’ō·sîp̄ Job 34:33 יְשַׁלְמֶ֨נָּה Should God repay you yə·šal·men·nāh הַֽמֵעִמְּךָ֬ on your own terms ha·mê·‘im·mə·ḵā כִּֽי־ when kî- מָאַ֗סְתָּ you have disavowed His mā·’as·tā כִּי־ . . . ? kî- אַתָּ֣ה You ’at·tāh תִבְחַ֣ר must choose , ṯiḇ·ḥar וְלֹא־ not wə·lō- אָ֑נִי I ; ’ā·nî דַבֵּֽר׃ so tell me ḏab·bêr וּֽמַה־ what ū·mah- יָדַ֥עְתָּ you know . yā·ḏa‘·tā Job 34:34 אַנְשֵׁ֣י Men ’an·šê לֵ֭בָב of understanding lê·ḇāḇ יֹ֣אמְרוּ will declare yō·mə·rū לִ֑י to me , lî חָ֝כָ֗ם and the wise ḥā·ḵām וְגֶ֥בֶר men wə·ḡe·ḇer שֹׁמֵ֥עַֽ who hear me šō·mê·a‘ לִֽי׃ [will say] : lî Job 34:35 אִ֭יּוֹב ‘ Job ’î·yō·wḇ יְדַבֵּ֑ר speaks yə·ḏab·bêr לֹא־ without lō- בְדַ֣עַת knowledge ; ḇə·ḏa·‘aṯ וּ֝דְבָרָ֗יו his words ū·ḏə·ḇā·rāw לֹ֣א lack lō בְהַשְׂכֵּֽיל׃ insight . ’ ḇə·haś·kêl
