[’’] mim·mə·qō·mōw Job 28:1 כִּ֤י [“] Surely kî יֵ֣שׁ there is yêš מוֹצָ֑א a mine mō·w·ṣā לַכֶּ֣סֶף for silver lak·ke·sep̄ וּ֝מָק֗וֹם and a place ū·mā·qō·wm לַזָּהָ֥ב where gold laz·zā·hāḇ יָזֹֽקּוּ׃ is refined . yā·zōq·qū Job 28:2 בַּ֭רְזֶל Iron bar·zel יֻקָּ֑ח is taken yuq·qāḥ מֵעָפָ֣ר from the earth , mê·‘ā·p̄ār נְחוּשָֽׁה׃ and copper nə·ḥū·šāh יָצ֥וּק is smelted yā·ṣūq וְ֝אֶ֗בֶן from ore . wə·’e·ḇen Job 28:3 שָׂ֤ם [Man] puts śām קֵ֤ץ׀ an end qêṣ לַחֹ֗שֶׁךְ to the darkness ; la·ḥō·šeḵ ה֣וּא he hū חוֹקֵ֑ר probes ḥō·w·qêr וּֽלְכָל־ the farthest recesses ū·lə·ḵāl- תַּ֭כְלִית . . . taḵ·lîṯ אֶ֖בֶן for ore ’e·ḇen אֹ֣פֶל in deepest darkness ’ō·p̄el וְצַלְמָֽוֶת׃ . . . . wə·ṣal·mā·weṯ Job 28:4 מִנִּי־ Far from min·nî- מֵֽעִם־ . . . mê·‘im- גָּ֗ר human habitation gār פָּ֤רַץ he cuts pā·raṣ נַ֨חַל׀ a shaft na·ḥal הַֽנִּשְׁכָּחִ֥ים in places forgotten han·niš·kā·ḥîm רָ֑גֶל by the foot of man . rā·ḡel מֵאֱנ֣וֹשׁ Far from men mê·’ĕ·nō·wōš דַּ֖לּוּ he dangles dal·lū נָֽעוּ׃ and sways . nā·‘ū Job 28:5 לָ֑חֶם Food lā·ḥem יֵֽצֵא־ may come yê·ṣê- מִמֶּ֥נָּה from mim·men·nāh אֶ֗רֶץ the earth , ’e·reṣ וְ֝תַחְתֶּ֗יהָ but from below wə·ṯaḥ·te·hā נֶהְפַּ֥ךְ it is transformed neh·paḵ כְּמוֹ־ as kə·mōw- אֵֽשׁ׃ by fire . ’êš Job 28:6 אֲבָנֶ֑יהָ Its rocks ’ă·ḇā·ne·hā מְקוֹם־ are the source mə·qō·wm- סַפִּ֥יר of sapphires , sap·pîr וְעַפְרֹ֖ת containing flecks wə·‘ap̄·rōṯ זָהָ֣ב of gold zā·hāḇ לֽוֹ׃ . lōw Job 28:7 לֹֽא־ No lō- עָ֑יִט bird of prey ‘ā·yiṭ יְדָ֣עוֹ knows yə·ḏā·‘ōw נָ֭תִיב that path ; nā·ṯîḇ וְלֹ֥א no wə·lō אַיָּֽה׃ falcon’s ’ay·yāh עֵ֣ין eye ‘ên שְׁ֝זָפַ֗תּוּ has seen it . zā·p̄at·tū
