Job 28:8 בְנֵי־ Proud beasts ḇə·nê- שָׁ֑חַץ . . . šā·ḥaṣ לֹֽא־ have never lō- הִדְרִיכֻ֥הוּ trodden it ; hiḏ·rî·ḵu·hū לֹֽא־ no lō- שָֽׁחַל׃ lion šā·ḥal עָדָ֖ה has ever prowled ‘ā·ḏāh עָלָ֣יו over it . ‘ā·lāw Job 28:9 שָׁלַ֣ח The miner strikes šā·laḥ יָד֑וֹ . . . yā·ḏōw בַּֽ֭חַלָּמִישׁ the flint ; ba·ḥal·lā·mîš הָפַ֖ךְ he overturns hā·p̄aḵ הָרִֽים׃ mountains hā·rîm מִשֹּׁ֣רֶשׁ at their base . miš·šō·reš Job 28:10 בִּקֵּ֑עַ He hews out biq·qê·a‘ יְאֹרִ֣ים channels yə·’ō·rîm בַּ֭צּוּרוֹת in the rocks , baṣ·ṣū·rō·wṯ עֵינֽוֹ׃ and his eyes ‘ê·nōw רָאֲתָ֥ה spot rā·’ă·ṯāh וְכָל־ every wə·ḵāl יְ֝קָ֗ר treasure . yə·qār Job 28:11 חִבֵּ֑שׁ He stops up ḥib·bêš מִ֭בְּכִי the sources mib·bə·ḵî נְהָר֣וֹת of the streams nə·hā·rō·wṯ יֹ֣צִא to bring yō·ṣi וְ֝תַעֲלֻמָ֗הּ what is hidden wə·ṯa·ʿă·lu·må̄h אֽוֹר׃פ to light . ’ō·wr Job 28:12 מֵאַ֣יִן But where mê·’a·yin וְֽ֭הַחָכְמָה can wisdom wə·ha·ḥā·ḵə·māh תִּמָּצֵ֑א be found , tim·mā·ṣê וְאֵ֥י and where wə·’ê בִּינָֽה׃ does understanding bî·nāh זֶ֝ה . . . zeh מְק֣וֹם dwell ? mə·qō·wm Job 28:13 לֹא־ No lō- אֱנ֣וֹשׁ man ’ĕ·nō·wōš יָדַ֣ע can know yā·ḏa‘ עֶרְכָּ֑הּ its value , ‘er·kāh וְלֹ֥א nor wə·lō תִ֝מָּצֵ֗א is it found ṯim·mā·ṣê בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ הַֽחַיִּֽים׃ of the living . ha·ḥay·yîm Job 28:14 תְּה֣וֹם The ocean depths tə·hō·wm אָ֭מַר say , ’ā·mar הִ֑יא ‘ It [is] hî לֹ֣א not lō בִי־ in me , ’ ḇî- וְיָ֥ם while the sea wə·yām אָ֝מַ֗ר declares , ’ā·mar אֵ֣ין ‘ [It is] not ’ên עִמָּדִֽי׃ with me . ’ ‘im·mā·ḏî Job 28:15 לֹא־ It cannot lō- יֻתַּ֣ן be bought yut·tan תַּחְתֶּ֑יהָ with taḥ·te·hā סְג֣וֹר gold , sə·ḡō·wr וְלֹ֥א nor [can] wə·lō מְחִירָֽהּ׃ its price mə·ḥî·rāh יִ֝שָּׁקֵ֗ל be weighed out yiš·šā·qêl כֶּ֣סֶף in silver . ke·sep̄ Job 28:16 לֹֽא־ It cannot lō- תְ֭סֻלֶּה be valued ṯə·sul·leh בְּכֶ֣תֶם in the gold bə·ḵe·ṯem אוֹפִ֑יר of Ophir , ’ō·w·p̄îr יָקָ֣ר in precious yā·qār בְּשֹׁ֖הַם onyx bə·šō·ham וְסַפִּֽיר׃ or sapphire . wə·sap·pîr Job 28:17 לֹא־ Neither lō- זָ֭הָב gold zā·hāḇ וּזְכוֹכִ֑ית nor crystal ū·zə·ḵō·w·ḵîṯ יַעַרְכֶ֣נָּה can compare to it , ya·‘ar·ḵen·nāh כְּלִי־ nor jewels kə·lî- פָֽז׃ of fine gold p̄āz וּתְמ֖וּרָתָ֣הּ be exchanged for it . ū·ṯə·mū·rā·ṯāh
