Job 22:8 הָאָ֑רֶץ while the land hā·’ā·reṣ זְ֭רוֹעַ belonged to a mighty zə·rō·w·a‘ ל֣וֹ lōw וְאִ֣ישׁ man , wə·’îš וּנְשׂ֥וּא and a man ū·nə·śū פָ֝נִ֗ים of honor p̄ā·nîm יֵ֣שֶׁב lived yê·šeḇ בָּֽהּ׃ on it . bāh Job 22:9 אַ֭לְמָנוֹת You sent widows ’al·mā·nō·wṯ שִׁלַּ֣חְתָּ away šil·laḥ·tā רֵיקָ֑ם empty-handed , rê·qām וּזְרֹע֖וֹת and the strength ū·zə·rō·‘ō·wṯ יְתֹמִ֣ים of the fatherless yə·ṯō·mîm יְדֻכָּֽא׃ was crushed . yə·ḏuk·kā Job 22:10 עַל־ Therefore ‘al- כֵּ֭ן . . . kên פַחִ֑ים snares p̄a·ḥîm סְבִיבוֹתֶ֣יךָ surround you , sə·ḇî·ḇō·w·ṯe·ḵā פִּתְאֹֽם׃ and sudden piṯ·’ōm פַּ֣חַד peril pa·ḥaḏ וִֽ֝יבַהֶלְךָ terrifies you ; wî·ḇa·hel·ḵā Job 22:11 אוֹ־ - ’ōw- חֹ֥שֶׁךְ it is so dark ḥō·šeḵ לֹֽא־ you cannot lō- תִרְאֶ֑ה see , ṯir·’eh וְֽשִׁפְעַת־ and a flood wə·šip̄·‘aṯ- מַ֥יִם of water ma·yim תְּכַסֶּֽךָּ׃ covers you . tə·ḵas·se·kā Job 22:12 הֲ Is not hălō- אֱ֭לוֹהַּ God ’ĕ·lō·w·ah גֹּ֣בַהּ as high gō·ḇah שָׁמָ֑יִם as the heavens ? šā·mā·yim וּרְאֵ֤ה Look at ū·rə·’êh רֹ֖אשׁ the highest rōš כּוֹכָבִ֣ים stars , kō·w·ḵā·ḇîm כִּי־ how kî- רָֽמּוּ׃ lofty they are ! rām·mū Job 22:13 וְֽ֭אָמַרְתָּ Yet you say : wə·’ā·mar·tā מַה־ ‘ What mah- אֵ֑ל does God ’êl יָּ֣דַֽע know ? yā·ḏa‘ יִשְׁפּֽוֹט׃ Does He judge yiš·pō·wṭ הַבְעַ֖ד through haḇ·‘aḏ עֲרָפֶ֣ל thick darkness ? ‘ă·rā·p̄el Job 22:14 עָבִ֣ים Thick clouds ‘ā·ḇîm סֵֽתֶר־ veil sê·ṯer- ל֭וֹ Him lōw וְלֹ֣א so He does not wə·lō יִרְאֶ֑ה see us yir·’eh יִתְהַלָּֽךְ׃ as He traverses yiṯ·hal·lāḵ וְח֥וּג the vault wə·ḥūḡ שָׁ֝מַ֗יִם of heaven . ’ ma·yim Job 22:15 תִּשְׁמֹ֑ר Will you stay tiš·mōr עוֹלָ֣ם on the ancient ‘ō·w·lām הַאֹ֣רַח path ha·’ō·raḥ אֲשֶׁ֖ר that ’ă·šer אָֽוֶן׃ wicked ’ā·wen מְתֵי־ men mə·ṯê- דָּרְכ֣וּ have trod ? dā·rə·ḵū Job 22:16 אֲשֶֽׁר־ They ’ă·šer- קֻמְּט֥וּ were snatched away qum·mə·ṭū וְלֹא־ before wə·lō- עֵ֑ת their time , ‘êṯ יְסוֹדָֽם׃ and their foundations yə·sō·w·ḏām יוּצַ֥ק were swept away yū·ṣaq נָ֝הָ֗ר by a flood . nā·hār Job 22:17 הָאֹמְרִ֣ים They said hā·’ō·mə·rîm לָ֭אֵל to God , lā·’êl ס֣וּר ‘ Depart sūr מִמֶּ֑נּוּ from us . mim·men·nū וּמַה־ What ū·mah-
