עָ֝שָׂ֗ה has done ? ‘ā·śāh Job 21:32 וְ֭הוּא He wə·hū יוּבָ֑ל is carried yū·ḇāl לִקְבָר֣וֹת to the grave , liq·ḇā·rō·wṯ יִשְׁקֽוֹד׃ and watch is kept yiš·qō·wḏ וְֽעַל־ over wə·‘al- גָּדִ֥ישׁ his tomb . gā·ḏîš Job 21:33 רִגְבֵ֫י The clods riḡ·ḇê נָ֥חַל of the valley nā·ḥal מָֽתְקוּ־ are sweet mā·ṯə·qū- ל֗וֹ to him ; lōw כָּל־ everyone kāl- אָדָ֣ם . . . ’ā·ḏām יִמְשׁ֑וֹךְ follows yim·šō·wḵ וְ֭אַחֲרָיו behind him , wə·’a·ḥă·rāw וּ֝לְפָנָ֗יו and those before him ū·lə·p̄ā·nāw אֵ֣ין are without ’ên מִסְפָּֽר׃ number . mis·pār Job 21:34 וְ֭אֵיךְ So how wə·’êḵ תְּנַחֲמ֣וּנִי can you comfort me tə·na·ḥă·mū·nî הָ֑בֶל with empty words ? hā·ḇel וּ֝תְשֽׁוּבֹתֵיכֶ֗ם For your answers ū·ṯə·šū·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem נִשְׁאַר־ remain niš·’ar- מָֽעַל׃ס [full of] falsehood . ” mā·‘al Job 22:1 אֱלִיפַ֥ז Then Eliphaz ’ĕ·lî·p̄az הַֽתֵּמָנִ֗י the Temanite hat·tê·mā·nî וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ . . . way·yō·mar וַ֭יַּעַן replied : way·ya·‘an Job 22:2 גָּ֑בֶר “ Can a man gā·ḇer יִסְכָּן־ be of use yis·kān- הַלְאֵ֥ל to God ? hal·’êl כִּֽי־ Can even kî- מַשְׂכִּֽיל׃ a wise man maś·kîl יִסְכֹּ֖ן benefit yis·kōn עָלֵ֣ימוֹ Him ? ‘ā·lê·mōw Job 22:3 הַחֵ֣פֶץ Does it delight ha·ḥê·p̄eṣ לְ֭שַׁדַּי the Almighty lə·šad·day כִּ֣י that kî תִצְדָּ֑ק you are righteous ? ṯiṣ·dāq וְאִם־ . . . wə·’im- בֶּ֝֗צַע Does He profit be·ṣa‘ כִּֽי־ if kî- דְּרָכֶֽיךָ׃ your ways də·rā·ḵe·ḵā תַתֵּ֥ם are blameless ? ṯat·têm Job 22:4 הֲֽ֭מִיִּרְאָ֣תְךָ Is it for your reverence hă·mî·yir·’ā·ṯə·ḵā יֹכִיחֶ֑ךָ that He rebukes you yō·ḵî·ḥe·ḵā יָב֥וֹא and enters yā·ḇō·w בַּמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃ into judgment bam·miš·pāṭ עִ֝מְּךָ֗ against you ? ‘im·mə·ḵā Job 22:5 הֲלֹ֣א Is not hă·lō רָעָֽתְךָ֣ your wickedness rā·‘ā·ṯə·ḵā רַבָּ֑ה great ? rab·bāh לַעֲוֺנֹתֶֽיךָ׃ Are not your iniquities la·‘ă·wō·nō·ṯe·ḵā וְאֵֽין־ endless wə·’ên- קֵ֝֗ץ . . . ? qêṣ Job 22:6 כִּֽי־ For kî- חִנָּ֑ם {you} needlessly ḥin·nām תַחְבֹּ֣ל demanded security ṯaḥ·bōl אַחֶ֣יךָ from your brothers ’a·ḥe·ḵā תַּפְשִֽׁיט׃ and deprived tap̄·šîṭ עֲרוּמִּ֣ים the naked ‘ă·rūm·mîm וּבִגְדֵ֖י of their clothing . ū·ḇiḡ·ḏê Job 22:7 תַּשְׁקֶ֑ה You gave taš·qeh לֹא־ no lō- מַ֭יִם water ma·yim עָיֵ֣ף to the weary ‘ā·yêp̄ תִּֽמְנַֽע־ and withheld tim·na‘- לָֽחֶם׃ food lā·ḥem וּ֝מֵרָעֵ֗ב from the famished , ū·mê·rā·‘êḇ
