לְק֣וֹל at the sound lə·qō·wl עוּגָֽב׃ of the flute . ‘ū·ḡāḇ Job 21:13 יְבַלּוּ They spend yə·ḇal·lū יְמֵיהֶ֑ם their days yə·mê·hem בַטּ֣וֹב in prosperity ḇaṭ·ṭō·wḇ יֵחָֽתּוּ׃ and go down yê·ḥāt·tū שְׁא֣וֹל to Sheol šə·’ō·wl וּ֝בְרֶ֗גַע in peace . ū·ḇə·re·ḡa‘ Job 21:14 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ Yet they say way·yō·mə·rū לָ֭אֵל to God : lā·’êl ס֣וּר ‘ Leave us alone sūr מִמֶּ֑נּוּ . . . ! mim·men·nū לֹ֣א For we have no lō חָפָֽצְנוּ׃ desire ḥā·p̄ā·ṣə·nū וְדַ֥עַת to know wə·ḏa·‘aṯ דְּ֝רָכֶ֗יךָ Your ways . də·rā·ḵe·ḵā Job 21:15 מַה־ Who mah- שַׁדַּ֥י is the Almighty , šad·day כִּֽי־ that kî- נַֽעַבְדֶ֑נּוּ we should serve Him , na·‘aḇ·ḏen·nū וּמַה־ and what ū·mah- נּ֝וֹעִ֗יל would we gain nō·w·‘îl כִּ֣י if kî נִפְגַּע־ we pray nip̄·ga‘- בּֽוֹ׃ to Him ? ’ bōw Job 21:16 הֵ֤ן Still , hên טוּבָ֑ם their prosperity [is] ṭū·ḇām לֹ֣א not lō בְיָדָ֣ם in their own hands , ḇə·yā·ḏām רָ֣חֲקָה so I stay far rā·ḥă·qāh מֶֽנִּי׃ . . . men·nî עֲצַ֥ת from the counsel ‘ă·ṣaṯ רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים of the wicked . rə·šā·‘îm Job 21:17 כַּמָּ֤ה׀ How often kam·māh נֵר־ is the lamp nêr- רְשָׁ֘עִ֤ים of the wicked rə·šā·‘îm יִדְעָ֗ךְ put out ? yiḏ·‘āḵ אֵידָ֑ם Does disaster ’ê·ḏām וְיָבֹ֣א come wə·yā·ḇō עָלֵ֣ימוֹ upon them ? ‘ā·lê·mōw בְּאַפּֽוֹ׃ Does [God,] in His anger , bə·’ap·pōw יְחַלֵּ֥ק apportion yə·ḥal·lêq חֲ֝בָלִ֗ים destruction ? ḥă·ḇā·lîm Job 21:18 יִהְי֗וּ Are yih·yū כְּתֶ֥בֶן they like straw kə·ṯe·ḇen לִפְנֵי־ before lip̄·nê- ר֑וּחַ the wind , rū·aḥ וּ֝כְמֹ֗ץ like chaff ū·ḵə·mōṣ גְּנָבַ֥תּוּ swept away gə·nā·ḇat·tū סוּפָֽה׃ by a storm ? sū·p̄āh Job 21:19 אֱל֗וֹהַּ [It is said that] God ’ĕ·lō·w·ah יִצְפֹּן־ lays up yiṣ·pōn- אוֹנ֑וֹ one’s punishment ’ō·w·nōw לְבָנָ֥יו for his children . lə·ḇā·nāw יְשַׁלֵּ֖ם Let God repay the man yə·šal·lêm אֵלָ֣יו himself , ’ê·lāw וְיֵדָֽע׃ so he will know it . wə·yê·ḏā‘ Job 21:20 עֵינוֹ Let his eyes ʿē·nō יִרְא֣וּ see yir·’ū כִּיד֑וֹ his own destruction ; kî·ḏōw יִשְׁתֶּֽה׃ let him drink [for himself] yiš·teh וּמֵחֲמַ֖ת the wrath ū·mê·ḥă·maṯ שַׁדַּ֣י of the Almighty . šad·day Job 21:21 כִּ֤י For kî מַה־ what mah- חֶפְצ֣וֹ does he care ḥep̄·ṣōw בְּבֵית֣וֹ about his household bə·ḇê·ṯōw אַחֲרָ֑יו after him , ’a·ḥă·rāw וּמִסְפַּ֖ר when the number ū·mis·par חֳדָשָׁ֣יו of his months ḥo·ḏā·šāw חֻצָּֽצוּ׃ has run out ? ḥuṣ·ṣā·ṣū
