Job 21:2 שִׁמְע֣וּ “ Listen šim·‘ū שָׁ֭מוֹעַ carefully mō·w·a‘ מִלָּתִ֑י to my words ; mil·lā·ṯî זֹ֝֗את let this zōṯ וּתְהִי־ be ū·ṯə·hî- תַּנְח֥וּמֹֽתֵיכֶֽם׃ your consolation [to me] . tan·ḥū·mō·ṯê·ḵem Job 21:3 שָׂ֭אוּנִי Bear with me ’ū·nî וְאָנֹכִ֣י while I wə·’ā·nō·ḵî אֲדַבֵּ֑ר speak ; ’ă·ḏab·bêr וְאַחַ֖ר then, after wə·’a·ḥar דַּבְּרִ֣י I have spoken , dab·bə·rî תַלְעִֽיג׃ you may go on mocking . ṯal·‘îḡ Job 21:4 הֶ֭אָנֹכִי Is my he·’ā·nō·ḵî שִׂיחִ֑י complaint śî·ḥî וְאִם־ . . . wə·’im- לְאָדָ֣ם against a man ? lə·’ā·ḏām מַ֝דּ֗וּעַ Then why mad·dū·a‘ לֹא־ should I not lō- רוּחִֽי׃ . . . rū·ḥî תִקְצַ֥ר be impatient ? ṯiq·ṣar Job 21:5 פְּנוּ־ Look pə·nū- אֵלַ֥י at me ’ê·lay וְהָשַׁ֑מּוּ and be appalled ; wə·hā·šam·mū וְשִׂ֖ימוּ put wə·śî·mū יָ֣ד your hand yāḏ עַל־ over ‘al- פֶּֽה׃ your mouth . peh Job 21:6 וְאִם־ When wə·’im- זָכַ֥רְתִּי I remember , zā·ḵar·tî וְנִבְהָ֑לְתִּי terror wə·niḇ·hā·lə·tî וְאָחַ֥ז takes hold , wə·’ā·ḥaz בְּ֝שָׂרִ֗י and my body bə·śā·rî פַּלָּצֽוּת׃ trembles in horror . pal·lā·ṣūṯ Job 21:7 מַדּ֣וּעַ Why mad·dū·a‘ רְשָׁעִ֣ים do the wicked rə·šā·‘îm יִחְי֑וּ live on , yiḥ·yū עָ֝תְק֗וּ growing old ‘ā·ṯə·qū גַּם־ and gam- גָּ֥בְרוּ increasing gā·ḇə·rū חָֽיִל׃ in power ? ḥā·yil Job 21:8 זַרְעָ֤ם Their descendants zar·‘ām נָכ֣וֹן are established nā·ḵō·wn עִמָּ֑ם around them ‘im·mām לִפְנֵיהֶ֣ם . . . , lip̄·nê·hem וְ֝צֶאֱצָאֵיהֶ֗ם and their offspring wə·ṣe·’ĕ·ṣā·’ê·hem לְעֵינֵיהֶֽם׃ before their eyes . lə·‘ê·nê·hem Job 21:9 בָּתֵּיהֶ֣ם Their homes bāt·tê·hem שָׁל֣וֹם are safe šā·lō·wm מִפָּ֑חַד from fear ; mip·pā·ḥaḏ וְלֹ֤א no wə·lō שֵׁ֖בֶט rod of punishment šê·ḇeṭ אֱל֣וֹהַּ from God ’ĕ·lō·w·ah עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ [is] upon them . ‘ă·lê·hem Job 21:10 שׁוֹר֣וֹ Their bulls šō·w·rōw עִ֭בַּר breed ‘ib·bar וְלֹ֣א without wə·lō יַגְעִ֑ל fail ; yaḡ·‘il פָּ֝רָת֗וֹ their cows pā·rā·ṯōw תְּפַלֵּ֥ט bear calves tə·p̄al·lêṭ וְלֹ֣א and do not wə·lō תְשַׁכֵּֽל׃ miscarry . ṯə·šak·kêl Job 21:11 יְשַׁלְּח֣וּ They send forth yə·šal·lə·ḥū עֲוִילֵיהֶ֑ם their little ones ‘ă·wî·lê·hem כַ֭צֹּאן like a flock ; ḵaṣ·ṣōn וְ֝יַלְדֵיהֶ֗ם their children wə·yal·ḏê·hem יְרַקֵּדֽוּן׃ skip about , yə·raq·qê·ḏūn Job 21:12 יִ֭שְׂאוּ singing yiś·’ū כְּתֹ֣ף to the tambourine kə·ṯōp̄ וְכִנּ֑וֹר and lyre wə·ḵin·nō·wr וְ֝יִשְׂמְח֗וּ and making merry wə·yiś·mə·ḥū
