הַנַּֽעֲמָתִ֗י the Naamathite han·na·‘ă·mā·ṯî וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ . . . way·yō·mar וַ֭יַּעַן replied : way·ya·‘an Job 20:2 לָ֭כֵן “ So lā·ḵên שְׂעִפַּ֣י my anxious thoughts śə·‘ip·pay יְשִׁיב֑וּנִי compel me to answer , yə·šî·ḇū·nî וּ֝בַעֲב֗וּר because ū·ḇa·‘ă·ḇūr ח֣וּשִׁי of the turmoil ḥū·šî בִֽי׃ within me . ḇî Job 20:3 אֶשְׁמָ֑ע I have heard ’eš·mā‘ וְ֝ר֗וּחַ . . . wə·rū·aḥ מוּסַ֣ר a rebuke mū·sar כְּלִמָּתִ֣י that insults me , kə·lim·mā·ṯî מִֽבִּינָתִ֥י and my understanding mib·bî·nā·ṯî יַעֲנֵֽנִי׃ prompts a reply . ya·‘ă·nê·nî Job 20:4 יָ֭דַעְתָּ Do you not know yā·ḏa‘·tā הֲזֹ֣את that hă·zōṯ מִנִּי־ from min·nî- עַ֑ד antiquity , ‘aḏ מִנִּ֤י since min·nî אָדָ֣ם man ’ā·ḏām שִׂ֖ים was placed śîm עֲלֵי־ on ‘ă·lê- אָֽרֶץ׃ the earth , ’ā·reṣ Job 20:5 כִּ֤י - kî רִנְנַ֣ת the triumph rin·naṯ רְ֭שָׁעִים of the wicked rə·šā·‘îm מִקָּר֑וֹב has been brief miq·qā·rō·wḇ וְשִׂמְחַ֖ת and the joy wə·śim·ḥaṯ חָנֵ֣ף of the godless ḥā·nêp̄ עֲדֵי־ vvv ‘ă·ḏê- רָֽגַע׃ momentary ? rā·ḡa‘ Job 20:6 אִם־ Though ’im- שִׂיא֑וֹ his arrogance śî·’ōw יַעֲלֶ֣ה reaches ya·‘ă·leh לַשָּׁמַ֣יִם the heavens , laš·šā·ma·yim וְ֝רֹאשׁ֗וֹ and his head wə·rō·šōw יַגִּֽיעַ׃ touches yag·gî·a‘ לָעָ֥ב the clouds , lā·‘āḇ Job 20:7 יֹאבֵ֑ד he will perish yō·ḇêḏ לָנֶ֣צַח forever , lā·ne·ṣaḥ כְּֽ֭גֶלֲלוֹ like his own dung ; kə·ḡe·lă·lōw רֹ֝אָ֗יו those who had seen him rō·’āw יֹאמְר֥וּ will ask , yō·mə·rū אַיּֽוֹ׃ ‘ Where is he ? ’ ’ay·yōw Job 20:8 יָ֭עוּף He will fly away yā·‘ūp̄ כַּחֲל֣וֹם like a dream , ka·ḥă·lō·wm וְלֹ֣א never wə·lō יִמְצָא֑וּהוּ to be found ; yim·ṣā·’ū·hū וְ֝יֻדַּ֗ד he will be chased away wə·yud·daḏ כְּחֶזְי֥וֹן like a vision kə·ḥez·yō·wn לָֽיְלָה׃ in the night . lā·yə·lāh Job 20:9 עַ֣יִן The eye ‘a·yin שְׁ֭זָפַתּוּ [that] saw him zā·p̄at·tū וְלֹ֣א will see him no wə·lō תוֹסִ֑יף more , ṯō·w·sîp̄ מְקוֹמֽוֹ׃ and his place mə·qō·w·mōw וְלֹא־ will no wə·lō- ע֝֗וֹד longer ‘ō·wḏ תְּשׁוּרֶ֥נּוּ behold him . tə·šū·ren·nū Job 20:10 בָּ֭נָיו His sons bā·nāw יְרַצּ֣וּ will seek the favor yə·raṣ·ṣū דַלִּ֑ים of the poor , ḏal·lîm וְ֝יָדָ֗יו for his own hands wə·yā·ḏāw תָּשֵׁ֥בְנָה must return tā·šê·ḇə·nāh אוֹנֽוֹ׃ his wealth . ’ō·w·nōw Job 20:11 עֲלוּמוֹ The youthful vigor ʿă·lū·mō מָלְא֣וּ that fills mā·lə·’ū עַ֭צְמוֹתָיו his bones ‘aṣ·mō·w·ṯāw תִּשְׁכָּֽב׃ will lie down tiš·kāḇ
