וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ . . . way·yō·mar וַיַּ֥עַן answered : way·ya·‘an Job 19:2 עַד־ “ How long ‘aḏ- אָ֭נָה . . . ’ā·nāh תּוֹגְי֣וּן will you torment tō·wḡ·yūn נַפְשִׁ֑י me nap̄·šî וּֽתְדַכְּאוּנַ֥נִי and crush me ū·ṯə·ḏak·kə·’ū·na·nî בְמִלִּֽים׃ with [your] words ? ḇə·mil·lîm Job 19:3 עֶ֣שֶׂר Ten ‘e·śer פְּ֭עָמִים times pə·‘ā·mîm זֶ֤ה now zeh תַּכְלִימ֑וּנִי you have reproached me ; taḵ·lî·mū·nî לֹֽא־ vvv lō- תֵ֝בֹ֗שׁוּ you shamelessly ṯê·ḇō·šū תַּהְכְּרוּ־ mistreat tah·kə·rū- לִֽי׃ me . lî Job 19:4 וְאַף־ Even if wə·’ap̄- אָמְנָ֥ם vvv ’ā·mə·nām שָׁגִ֑יתִי I have truly gone astray , šā·ḡî·ṯî מְשׁוּגָתִֽי׃ my error mə·šū·ḡā·ṯî תָּלִ֥ין concerns me tā·lîn אִ֝תִּ֗י alone . ’it·tî Job 19:5 אִם־ If ’im- אָ֭מְנָם indeed ’ā·mə·nām תַּגְדִּ֑ילוּ you would exalt [yourselves] taḡ·dî·lū עָלַ֣י above me ‘ā·lay חֶרְפָּתִּֽי׃ and use my disgrace ḥɛr·på̄t·tī וְתוֹכִ֥יחוּ . . . wə·ṯō·w·ḵî·ḥū עָ֝לַ֗י against me , ‘ā·lay Job 19:6 אֵ֭פוֹ then ’ê·p̄ōw דְּֽעוּ־ understand də·‘ū- כִּי־ that kî- אֱל֣וֹהַּ it is God ’ĕ·lō·w·ah עִוְּתָ֑נִי who has wronged me ‘iw·wə·ṯā·nî וּ֝מְצוּד֗וֹ and drawn His net ū·mə·ṣū·ḏōw הִקִּֽיף׃ around hiq·qîp̄ עָלַ֥י me . ‘ā·lay Job 19:7 הֵ֤ן Though hên אֶצְעַ֣ק I cry out , ’eṣ·‘aq חָ֭מָס ‘ Violence ! ’ ḥā·mās וְלֹ֣א I get no wə·lō אֵעָנֶ֑ה response ; ’ê·‘ā·neh אֲ֝שַׁוַּ֗ע though I call for help , ’ă·šaw·wa‘ וְאֵ֣ין there is no wə·’ên מִשְׁפָּֽט׃ justice . miš·pāṭ Job 19:8 גָ֭דַר He has blocked ḡā·ḏar אָרְחִ֣י my way ’ā·rə·ḥî וְלֹ֣א so I cannot wə·lō אֶעֱב֑וֹר pass ; ’e·‘ĕ·ḇō·wr וְעַ֥ל He has veiled wə·‘al יָשִֽׂים׃ . . . yā·śîm נְ֝תִיבוֹתַ֗י my paths nə·ṯî·ḇō·w·ṯay חֹ֣שֶׁךְ with darkness . ḥō·šeḵ Job 19:9 הִפְשִׁ֑יט He has stripped me hip̄·šîṭ כְּ֭בוֹדִי of my honor kə·ḇō·w·ḏî מֵעָלַ֣י . . . mê·‘ā·lay וַ֝יָּ֗סַר and removed way·yā·sar עֲטֶ֣רֶת the crown ‘ă·ṭe·reṯ רֹאשִֽׁי׃ from my head . rō·šî Job 19:10 יִתְּצֵ֣נִי He tears me down yit·tə·ṣê·nî סָ֭בִיב on every side sā·ḇîḇ וָאֵלַ֑ךְ until I am gone ; wā·’ê·laḵ וַיַּסַּ֥ע He uproots way·yas·sa‘ תִּקְוָתִֽי׃ my hope tiq·wā·ṯî כָּ֝עֵ֗ץ like a tree . kā·‘êṣ Job 19:11 אַפּ֑וֹ His anger ’ap·pōw וַיַּ֣חַר burns way·ya·ḥar עָלַ֣י against me , ‘ā·lay וַיַּחְשְׁבֵ֖נִי and He counts me way·yaḥ·šə·ḇê·nî ל֣וֹ lōw
