Job 18:2 אָ֤נָה׀ “ How long ’ā·nāh עַד־ until ‘aḏ- תְּשִׂימ֣וּן you end tə·śî·mūn קִנְצֵ֣י . . . qin·ṣê לְמִלִּ֑ין these speeches ? lə·mil·lîn תָּ֝בִ֗ינוּ Show some sense , tā·ḇî·nū וְאַחַ֥ר and then wə·’a·ḥar נְדַבֵּֽר׃ we can talk . nə·ḏab·bêr Job 18:3 מַ֭דּוּעַ Why mad·dū·a‘ נֶחְשַׁ֣בְנוּ are we regarded neḥ·šaḇ·nū כַבְּהֵמָ֑ה as cattle , ḵab·bə·hê·māh נִ֝טְמִ֗ינוּ as stupid niṭ·mî·nū בְּעֵינֵיכֶֽם׃ in your sight ? bə·‘ê·nê·ḵem Job 18:4 טֹֽרֵ֥ף You who tear ṭō·rêp̄ נַפְשׁ֗וֹ yourself nap̄·šōw בְּאַ֫פּ֥וֹ in anger — bə·’ap·pōw אָ֑רֶץ should the earth ’ā·reṣ תֵּעָ֣זַב be forsaken tê·‘ā·zaḇ הַ֭לְמַעַנְךָ on your account , hal·ma·‘an·ḵā צ֝֗וּר or the rocks ṣūr וְיֶעְתַּק־ be moved wə·ye‘·taq- מִמְּקֹמֽוֹ׃ from their place ? mim·mə·qō·mōw Job 18:5 גַּ֤ם Indeed , gam א֣וֹר the lamp ’ō·wr רְשָׁעִ֣ים of the wicked rə·šā·‘îm יִדְעָ֑ךְ is extinguished ; yiḏ·‘āḵ שְׁבִ֣יב the flame šə·ḇîḇ אִשּֽׁוֹ׃ of his fire ’iš·šōw וְלֹֽא־ does not wə·lō- יִ֝גַּ֗הּ glow . yig·gah Job 18:6 א֭וֹר The light ’ō·wr בְּאָהֳל֑וֹ in his tent bə·’ā·ho·lōw חָשַׁ֣ךְ grows dark , ḥā·šaḵ וְ֝נֵר֗וֹ and the lamp wə·nê·rōw עָלָ֥יו beside him ‘ā·lāw יִדְעָֽךְ׃ goes out . yiḏ·‘āḵ Job 18:7 אוֹנ֑וֹ His vigorous ’ō·w·nōw צַעֲדֵ֣י stride ṣa·‘ă·ḏê יֵֽ֭צְרוּ is shortened , yê·ṣə·rū עֲצָתֽוֹ׃ and his own schemes ‘ă·ṣā·ṯōw וְֽתַשְׁלִיכֵ֥הוּ trip him up . wə·ṯaš·lî·ḵê·hū Job 18:8 כִּֽי־ For kî- בְּרַגְלָ֑יו his own feet bə·raḡ·lāw שֻׁלַּ֣ח lead him šul·laḥ בְּרֶ֣שֶׁת into a net , bə·re·šeṯ יִתְהַלָּֽךְ׃ and he wanders yiṯ·hal·lāḵ וְעַל־ into wə·‘a·lś- שְׂ֝בָכָ֗ה its mesh . ḇā·ḵāh Job 18:9 פָּ֑ח A trap pāḥ יֹאחֵ֣ז seizes yō·ḥêz בְּעָקֵ֣ב his heel ; bə·‘ā·qêḇ צַמִּֽים׃ a snare ṣam·mîm יַחֲזֵ֖ק grips him ya·ḥă·zêq עָלָ֣יו . . . . ‘ā·lāw Job 18:10 חַבְל֑וֹ A noose ḥaḇ·lōw טָמ֣וּן is hidden ṭā·mūn בָּאָ֣רֶץ in the ground , bā·’ā·reṣ וּ֝מַלְכֻּדְתּ֗וֹ and a trap ū·mal·kuḏ·tōw עֲלֵ֣י lies in ‘ă·lê נָתִֽיב׃ his path . nā·ṯîḇ Job 18:11 בַלָּה֑וֹת Terrors ḇal·lā·hō·wṯ בִּֽעֲתֻ֣הוּ frighten him bi·‘ă·ṯu·hū סָ֭בִיב on every side sā·ḇîḇ וֶהֱפִיצֻ֥הוּ and harass we·hĕ·p̄î·ṣu·hū לְרַגְלָֽיו׃ his every step . lə·raḡ·lāw Job 18:12 אֹנ֑וֹ His strength ’ō·nōw יְהִי־ is yə·hî- רָעֵ֥ב depleted , rā·‘êḇ וְ֝אֵ֗יד and calamity wə·’êḏ נָכ֥וֹן [is] ready nā·ḵō·wn
