[’’] ’ā·šūḇ Job 17:1 רוּחִ֣י [“] My spirit rū·ḥî חֻ֭בָּלָה is broken ; ḥub·bā·lāh יָמַ֥י my days yā·may נִזְעָ֗כוּ are extinguished ; niz·‘ā·ḵū קְבָרִ֥ים the grave qə·ḇā·rîm לִֽי׃ awaits me . lî Job 17:2 אִם־ Surely ’im- לֹ֣א . . . lō הֲ֭תֻלִים mockers hă·ṯu·lîm עִמָּדִ֑י surround me , ‘im·mā·ḏî עֵינִֽי׃ and my eyes ‘ê·nî תָּלַ֥ן must gaze tā·lan וּ֝בְהַמְּרוֹתָ֗ם at their rebellion . ū·ḇə·ham·mə·rō·w·ṯām Job 17:3 שִֽׂימָה־ Give [me] , śî·māh- נָּ֭א I pray , nā עָרְבֵ֣נִי the pledge ‘ā·rə·ḇê·nî עִמָּ֑ךְ You [demand] . ‘im·māḵ מִֽי Who else mî ה֝֗וּא . . . hū לְיָדִ֥י will be my guarantor lə·yā·ḏî יִתָּקֵֽעַ׃ . . . ? yit·tā·qê·a‘ Job 17:4 כִּֽי־ - kî- צָפַ֣נְתָּ You have closed ṣā·p̄an·tā לִ֭בָּם their minds lib·bām מִּשָּׂ֑כֶל to understanding ; miś·śā·ḵel עַל־ therefore ‘al- כֵּ֝֗ן . . . kên לֹ֣א You will not lō תְרֹמֵֽם׃ exalt them . ṯə·rō·mêm Job 17:5 יַגִּ֣יד If a man denounces yag·gîḏ רֵעִ֑ים his friends rê·‘îm לְ֭חֵלֶק for a price , lə·ḥê·leq וְעֵינֵ֖י the eyes wə·‘ê·nê בָנָ֣יו of his children ḇā·nāw תִּכְלֶֽנָה׃ will fail . tiḵ·le·nāh Job 17:6 וְֽ֭הִצִּגַנִי He has made me wə·hiṣ·ṣi·ḡa·nî לִמְשֹׁ֣ל a byword lim·šōl עַמִּ֑ים among the people , ‘am·mîm אֶֽהְיֶֽה׃ [a man] ’eh·yeh לְפָנִ֣ים in whose face lə·p̄ā·nîm וְתֹ֖פֶת they spit . wə·ṯō·p̄eṯ Job 17:7 עֵינִ֑י My eyes ‘ê·nî וַתֵּ֣כַהּ have grown dim wat·tê·ḵah מִכַּ֣עַשׂ with grief , mik·ka·‘aś כֻּלָּֽם׃ and my whole kul·lām וִֽיצֻרַ֖י body wî·ṣu·ray כַּצֵּ֣ל is but a shadow . kaṣ·ṣêl
