Job 17:8 יְשָׁרִ֣ים The upright yə·šā·rîm יָשֹׁ֣מּוּ are appalled yā·šōm·mū עַל־ at ‘al- זֹ֑את this , zōṯ וְ֝נָקִ֗י and the innocent wə·nā·qî יִתְעֹרָֽר׃ are stirred yiṯ·‘ō·rār עַל־ against ‘al- חָנֵ֥ף the godless . ḥā·nêp̄ Job 17:9 צַדִּ֣יק Yet a righteous one ṣad·dîq וְיֹאחֵ֣ז holds wə·yō·ḥêz דַּרְכּ֑וֹ to his way , dar·kōw יָ֝דַ֗יִם and the one with clean hands yā·ḏa·yim וּֽטֳהָר־ . . . ū·ṭo·hār- יֹסִ֥יף grows yō·sîp̄ אֹֽמֶץ׃ stronger . ’ō·meṣ Job 17:10 וְֽאוּלָ֗ם But wə·’ū·lām וּבֹ֣אוּ come back ū·ḇō·’ū נָ֑א . . . nā תָּ֭שֻׁבוּ and try again , tā·šu·ḇū כֻּלָּ֣ם all of you . kul·lām וְלֹֽא־ For I will not wə·lō- אֶמְצָ֖א find ’em·ṣā חָכָֽם׃ a wise man ḥā·ḵām בָכֶ֣ם among you . ḇā·ḵem Job 17:11 יָמַ֣י My days yā·may עָ֭בְרוּ have passed ; ‘ā·ḇə·rū זִמֹּתַ֣י my plans zim·mō·ṯay נִתְּק֑וּ are broken off — nit·tə·qū מ֖וֹרָשֵׁ֣י even the desires mō·w·rā·šê לְבָבִֽי׃ of my heart . lə·ḇā·ḇî Job 17:12 יָשִׂ֑ימוּ They have turned yā·śî·mū לַ֭יְלָה night lay·lāh לְי֣וֹם into day , lə·yō·wm א֝֗וֹר [making] light ’ō·wr קָר֥וֹב seem near qā·rō·wḇ מִפְּנֵי־ in the face mip·pə·nê- חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ of darkness . ḥō·šeḵ Job 17:13 אִם־ If ’im- אֲ֭קַוֶּה I look ’ă·qaw·weh שְׁא֣וֹל for Sheol šə·’ō·wl בֵּיתִ֑י as my home , bê·ṯî רִפַּ֥דְתִּי if I spread out rip·paḏ·tî יְצוּעָֽי׃ my bed yə·ṣū·‘āy בַּ֝חֹ֗שֶׁךְ in darkness , ba·ḥō·šeḵ Job 17:14 קָ֭רָאתִי and say qā·rā·ṯî לַשַּׁ֣חַת to corruption , laš·ša·ḥaṯ אָ֑תָּה ‘ You [are] ’āt·tāh אָ֣בִי my father , ’ ’ā·ḇî לָֽרִמָּֽה׃ and to the worm , lā·rim·māh אִמִּ֥י ‘ My mother , ’ ’im·mî וַ֝אֲחֹתִ֗י or ‘My sister , ’ wa·’ă·ḥō·ṯî Job 17:15 וְ֭אַיֵּה where wə·’ay·yêh אֵפ֣וֹ then ’ê·p̄ōw תִקְוָתִ֑י is my hope ? ṯiq·wā·ṯî מִ֣י Who mî יְשׁוּרֶֽנָּה׃ can see yə·šū·ren·nāh וְ֝תִקְוָתִ֗י any hope for me ? wə·ṯiq·wā·ṯî Job 17:16 תֵּרַ֑דְנָה Will it go down tê·raḏ·nāh בַּדֵּ֣י to the gates bad·dê שְׁאֹ֣ל of Sheol ? šə·’ōl אִם־ - ’im- נָֽחַת׃ס Will we go down nā·ḥaṯ יַ֖חַד together ya·ḥaḏ עַל־ into ‘al- עָפָ֣ר the dust ? ” ‘ā·p̄ār Job 18:1 בִּלְדַּ֥ד Then Bildad bil·daḏ הַשֻּׁחִ֗י the Shuhite haš·šu·ḥî וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ . . . way·yō·mar וַ֭יַּעַן replied : way·ya·‘an
