Job 14:12 וְאִ֥ישׁ so a man wə·’îš שָׁכַ֗ב lies down šā·ḵaḇ וְֽלֹא־ and does not wə·lō- יָ֫ק֥וּם rise . yā·qūm עַד־ Until ‘aḏ- שָׁ֭מַיִם the heavens ma·yim בִּלְתִּ֣י are no more , bil·tî לֹ֣א he will not lō יָקִ֑יצוּ be awakened yā·qî·ṣū וְלֹֽא־ [or] wə·lō- יֵ֝עֹ֗רוּ roused yê·‘ō·rū מִשְּׁנָתָֽם׃ from sleep . miš·šə·nā·ṯām Job 14:13 מִ֤י If only mî יִתֵּ֨ן׀ . . . yit·tên תַּצְפִּנֵ֗נִי You would hide me taṣ·pi·nê·nî בִּשְׁא֬וֹל in Sheol biš·’ō·wl תַּ֭סְתִּירֵנִי and conceal me tas·tî·rê·nî עַד־ until ‘aḏ- אַפֶּ֑ךָ Your anger ’ap·pe·ḵā שׁ֣וּב has passed ! šūḇ תָּ֤שִׁ֥ית If only You would appoint tā·šîṯ חֹ֣ק a time ḥōq לִ֖י for me lî וְתִזְכְּרֵֽנִי׃ and then remember me ! wə·ṯiz·kə·rê·nî Job 14:14 אִם־ When ’im- גֶּ֗בֶר a man ge·ḇer יָמ֥וּת dies , yā·mūṯ הֲיִ֫חְיֶ֥ה will he live [again] ? hă·yiḥ·yeh כָּל־ All kāl- יְמֵ֣י the days yə·mê צְבָאִ֣י of my hard service ṣə·ḇā·’î אֲיַחֵ֑ל I will wait , ’ă·ya·ḥêl עַד־ until ‘aḏ- חֲלִיפָתִֽי׃ my renewal ḥă·lî·p̄ā·ṯî בּ֝֗וֹא comes . bō·w Job 14:15 תִּ֭קְרָא You will call , tiq·rā וְאָנֹכִ֣י and I wə·’ā·nō·ḵî אֶֽעֱנֶ֑ךָּ will answer ; ’e·‘ĕ·ne·kā תִכְסֹֽף׃ You will desire ṯiḵ·sōp̄ לְֽמַעֲשֵׂ֖ה the work lə·ma·‘ă·śêh יָדֶ֣יךָ of Your hands . yā·ḏe·ḵā Job 14:16 כִּֽי־ For kî- עַ֭תָּה then ‘at·tāh תִּסְפּ֑וֹר You would count tis·pō·wr צְעָדַ֣י my steps , ṣə·‘ā·ḏay לֹֽא־ but would not lō- תִ֝שְׁמ֗וֹר keep track ṯiš·mō·wr עַל־ of ‘al- חַטָּאתִֽי׃ my sin . ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯî Job 14:17 פִּשְׁעִ֑י My transgression piš·‘î חָתֻ֣ם would be sealed ḥā·ṯum בִּצְר֣וֹר in a bag , biṣ·rō·wr וַ֝תִּטְפֹּ֗ל and You would cover wat·tiṭ·pōl עַל־ over ‘al- עֲוֺנִֽי׃ my iniquity . ‘ă·wō·nî Job 14:18 וְ֭אוּלָם But wə·’ū·lām הַר־ as a mountain har- נוֹפֵ֣ל erodes nō·w·p̄êl יִבּ֑וֹל and crumbles yib·bō·wl וְ֝צ֗וּר and a rock wə·ṣūr יֶעְתַּ֥ק is dislodged ye‘·taq מִמְּקֹמֽוֹ׃ from its place , mim·mə·qō·mōw Job 14:19 מַ֗יִם as water ma·yim שָׁ֥חֲקוּ wears away šā·ḥă·qū אֲבָנִ֤ים׀ the stones ’ă·ḇā·nîm סְפִיחֶ֥יהָ and torrents sə·p̄î·ḥe·hā תִּשְׁטֹֽף־ wash away tiš·ṭōp̄- עֲפַר־ the soil ‘ă·p̄ar- אָ֑רֶץ . . . , ’ā·reṣ הֶאֱבַֽדְתָּ׃ so You destroy he·’ĕ·ḇaḏ·tā אֱנ֣וֹשׁ a man’s ’ĕ·nō·wōš וְתִקְוַ֖ת hope . wə·ṯiq·waṯ Job 14:20 לָ֭נֶצַח You forever lā·ne·ṣaḥ
