וּ֝מֵעָפָ֗ר from the dust . ū·mê·‘ā·p̄ār Job 8:20 הֶן־ Behold , hen- אֵ֭ל God ’êl לֹ֣א does not lō יִמְאַס־ reject yim·’as- תָּ֑ם the blameless , tām וְלֹֽא־ nor will He wə·lō- יַ֝חֲזִ֗יק strengthen ya·ḥă·zîq בְּיַד־ the hand bə·yaḏ- מְרֵעִֽים׃ of evildoers . mə·rê·‘îm Job 8:21 עַד־ He will yet ‘aḏ- פִּ֑יךָ fill your mouth pî·ḵā יְמַלֵּ֣ה with yə·mal·lêh שְׂח֣וֹק laughter , śə·ḥō·wq וּשְׂפָתֶ֥יךָ and your lips ū·śə·p̄ā·ṯe·ḵā תְרוּעָֽה׃ with a shout of joy . ṯə·rū·‘āh Job 8:22 שֹׂנְאֶ֥יךָ Your enemies śō·nə·’e·ḵā יִלְבְּשׁוּ־ will be clothed yil·bə·šū- בֹ֑שֶׁת in shame , ḇō·šeṯ וְאֹ֖הֶל and the tent wə·’ō·hel רְשָׁעִ֣ים of the wicked rə·šā·‘îm אֵינֶֽנּוּ׃פ will be no more . ” ’ê·nen·nū Job 9:1 אִיּ֗וֹב Then Job ’î·yō·wḇ וַיֹּאמַֽר׃ . . . way·yō·mar וַיַּ֥עַן answered : way·ya·‘an Job 9:2 אָ֭מְנָם “ Yes , ’ā·mə·nām יָדַ֣עְתִּי I know yā·ḏa‘·tî כִי־ that ḵî- כֵ֑ן [it is] so , ḵên וּמַה־ but how ū·mah- אֱנ֣וֹשׁ can a mortal ’ĕ·nō·wōš יִּצְדַּ֖ק be righteous yiṣ·daq עִם־ before ‘im- אֵֽל׃ God ? ’êl Job 9:3 אִם־ If ’im- יַ֭חְפֹּץ one wished yaḥ·pōṣ לָרִ֣יב to contend lā·rîḇ עִמּ֑וֹ with [God] , ‘im·mōw לֹֽא־ he could not lō- יַ֝עֲנֶ֗נּוּ answer Him ya·‘ă·nen·nū אַחַ֥ת one [time] ’a·ḥaṯ מִנִּי־ out min·nî- אָֽלֶף׃ of a thousand . ’ā·lep̄ Job 9:4 חֲכַ֣ם [God is] wise ḥă·ḵam לֵ֭בָב in heart lê·ḇāḇ וְאַמִּ֣יץ and mighty wə·’am·mîṣ כֹּ֑חַ in strength . kō·aḥ מִֽי־ Who mî- הִקְשָׁ֥ה has resisted hiq·šāh אֵ֝לָ֗יו Him ’ê·lāw וַיִּשְׁלָֽם׃ and prospered ? way·yiš·lām Job 9:5 הַמַּעְתִּ֣יק He moves ham·ma‘·tîq הָ֭רִים mountains hā·rîm וְלֹ֣א without wə·lō יָדָ֑עוּ their knowledge yā·ḏā·‘ū אֲשֶׁ֖ר [and] ’ă·šer הֲפָכָ֣ם overturns them hă·p̄ā·ḵām בְּאַפּֽוֹ׃ in His anger . bə·’ap·pōw Job 9:6 הַמַּרְגִּ֣יז He shakes ham·mar·gîz אֶ֭רֶץ the earth ’e·reṣ מִמְּקוֹמָ֑הּ from its place , mim·mə·qō·w·māh וְ֝עַמּוּדֶ֗יהָ so that its foundations wə·‘am·mū·ḏe·hā יִתְפַלָּצֽוּן׃ tremble . yiṯ·p̄al·lå̄·ṣūn Job 9:7 הָאֹמֵ֣ר He commands hā·’ō·mêr לַ֭חֶרֶס the sun la·ḥe·res וְלֹ֣א not wə·lō יִזְרָ֑ח to shine ; yiz·rāḥ וּבְעַ֖ד He seals off ū·ḇə·‘aḏ יַחְתֹּֽם׃ . . . yaḥ·tōm כּוֹכָבִ֣ים the stars . kō·w·ḵā·ḇîm
