וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer הַמַּלְכָּ֗ה to Queen ham·mal·kāh לְאֶסְתֵּ֣ר Esther , lə·’es·têr הַבִּירָ֡ה “ In the citadel hab·bî·rāh בְּשׁוּשַׁ֣ן of Susa bə·šū·šan הַיְּהוּדִ֨ים the Jews hay·yə·hū·ḏîm הָרְגוּ֩ have killed hā·rə·ḡū וְאַבֵּ֜ד and destroyed wə·’ab·bêḏ חֲמֵ֧שׁ five ḥă·mêš מֵא֣וֹת hundred mê·’ō·wṯ אִ֗ישׁ men , ’îš וְאֵת֙ - wə·’êṯ הָמָ֔ן including Haman’s hā·mān עֲשֶׂ֣רֶת ten ‘ă·śe·reṯ בְּנֵֽי־ sons . bə·nê- מֶ֣ה What meh עָשׂ֑וּ have they done ‘ā·śū בִּשְׁאָ֛ר in the rest biš·’ār הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ of the royal ham·me·leḵ מְדִינ֥וֹת provinces ? mə·ḏî·nō·wṯ וּמַה־ Now what [is] ū·mah- שְּׁאֵֽלָתֵךְ֙ your petition ? šə·’ê·lā·ṯêḵ וְיִנָּ֣תֵֽן It will be given wə·yin·nā·ṯên לָ֔ךְ to you . lāḵ וּמַה־ And what ū·mah- ע֖וֹד further ‘ō·wḏ בַּקָּשָׁתֵ֥ךְ do you request ? baq·qā·šā·ṯêḵ וְתֵעָֽשׂ׃ It will be fulfilled . ” wə·ṯê·‘āś Esther 9:13 אֶסְתֵּר֙ Esther ’es·têr וַתֹּ֤אמֶר replied , wat·tō·mer אִם־ “ If ’im- עַל־ it pleases ‘al- ט֔וֹב . . . ṭō·wḇ יִנָּתֵ֣ן . . . yin·nā·ṯên הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ the king , ham·me·leḵ לַיְּהוּדִים֙ may the Jews lay·yə·hū·ḏîm אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בְּשׁוּשָׁ֔ן in Susa bə·šū·šān גַּם־ also gam- מָחָ֗ר have tomorrow mā·ḥār לַעֲשׂ֖וֹת to carry out la·‘ă·śō·wṯ הַיּ֑וֹם today’s hay·yō·wm וְאֵ֛ת - wə·’êṯ כְּדָ֣ת edict , kə·ḏāṯ הָמָ֖ן and may the bodies of Haman’s hā·mān עֲשֶׂ֥רֶת ten ‘ă·śe·reṯ בְּנֵֽי־ sons bə·nê- יִתְל֥וּ be hanged yiṯ·lū עַל־ on ‘al- הָעֵֽץ׃ the gallows . ” hā·‘êṣ Esther 9:14 הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ So the king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר commanded way·yō·mer כֵּ֔ן that this kên לְהֵֽעָשׂ֣וֹת be done . lə·hê·‘ā·śō·wṯ דָּ֖ת An edict dāṯ וַתִּנָּתֵ֥ן was issued wat·tin·nā·ṯên בְּשׁוּשָׁ֑ן in Susa , bə·šū·šān וְאֵ֛ת - wə·’êṯ תָּלֽוּ׃ and they hanged tā·lū עֲשֶׂ֥רֶת the ten ‘ă·śe·reṯ בְּנֵֽי־ sons bə·nê- הָמָ֖ן of Haman . hā·mān Esther 9:15 אַרְבָּעָ֤ה On the fourteenth ’ar·bā·‘āh עָשָׂר֙ . . . ‘ā·śār בְּי֣וֹם day bə·yō·wm לְחֹ֣דֶשׁ of the month lə·ḥō·ḏeš אֲדָ֔ר of Adar , ’ă·ḏār הַיְּהוּדִיִּים the Jews hay·yə·hū·ḏī·yīm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- בְּשׁוּשָׁ֗ן in Susa bə·šū·šān וַיִּֽקָּהֲל֞וּ came together way·yiq·qā·hă·lū גַּ֠ם again gam וַיַּֽהַרְג֣וּ and put to death way·ya·har·ḡū שְׁלֹ֥שׁ three šə·lōš מֵא֖וֹת hundred mê·’ō·wṯ אִ֑ישׁ men ’îš בְשׁוּשָׁ֔ן [there] , ḇə·šū·šān לֹ֥א but they did not lō שָׁלְח֖וּ lay šā·lə·ḥū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יָדָֽם׃ a hand yā·ḏām וּבַ֨בִּזָּ֔ה on the plunder . ū·ḇab·biz·zāh Esther 9:16 וּשְׁאָ֣ר The rest ū·šə·’ār הַיְּהוּדִ֡ים of the Jews hay·yə·hū·ḏîm אֲשֶׁר֩ - ’ă·šer הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ in the royal ham·me·leḵ בִּמְדִינ֨וֹת provinces bim·ḏî·nō·wṯ נִקְהֲל֣וּ׀ also assembled niq·hă·lū
