אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ the king’s ham·me·leḵ דְּבַר־ edict də·ḇar- וְדָתוֹ֙ and decree wə·ḏā·ṯōw מַגִּ֔יעַ reached , mag·gî·a‘ שִׂמְחָ֤ה there was joy śim·ḥāh וְשָׂשׂוֹן֙ and gladness wə·śā·śō·wn לַיְּהוּדִ֔ים among the Jews , lay·yə·hū·ḏîm מִשְׁתֶּ֖ה with feasting miš·teh וְי֣וֹם and celebrating wə·yō·wm ט֑וֹב . . . . ṭō·wḇ וְרַבִּ֞ים And many wə·rab·bîm מֵֽעַמֵּ֤י of the people mê·‘am·mê הָאָ֙רֶץ֙ of the land hā·’ā·reṣ מִֽתְיַהֲדִ֔ים themselves became Jews , miṯ·ya·hă·ḏîm כִּֽי־ because kî- פַּֽחַד־ the fear pa·ḥaḏ- הַיְּהוּדִ֖ים of the Jews hay·yə·hū·ḏîm נָפַ֥ל had fallen nā·p̄al עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ upon them . ‘ă·lê·hem Esther 9:1 בִּשְׁלוֹשָׁ֨ה On the thirteenth biš·lō·wō·šāh עָשָׂ֥ר . . . ‘ā·śār יוֹם֙ day yō·wm בּ֔וֹ bōw אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer הִגִּ֧יעַ - hig·gî·a‘ וּבִשְׁנֵים֩ of the twelfth ū·ḇiš·nêm עָשָׂ֨ר . . . ‘ā·śār חֹ֜דֶשׁ month , ḥō·ḏeš הוּא־ . . . hū- חֹ֣דֶשׁ the month ḥō·ḏeš אֲדָ֗ר of Adar , ’ă·ḏār הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ the king’s ham·me·leḵ דְּבַר־ command də·ḇar- וְדָת֖וֹ and edict wə·ḏā·ṯōw לְהֵעָשׂ֑וֹת were to be executed . lə·hê·‘ā·śō·wṯ בַּיּ֗וֹם On this day bay·yō·wm אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer אֹיְבֵ֤י the enemies ’ō·yə·ḇê הַיְּהוּדִים֙ of the Jews hay·yə·hū·ḏîm שִׂבְּר֜וּ had hoped śib·bə·rū לִשְׁל֣וֹט to overpower liš·lō·wṭ בָּהֶ֔ם them , bā·hem וְנַהֲפ֣וֹךְ but [their plan] was overturned wə·na·hă·p̄ō·wḵ ה֔וּא . . . hū אֲשֶׁ֨ר . . . ’ă·šer הַיְּהוּדִ֛ים [and] the Jews hay·yə·hū·ḏîm יִשְׁלְט֧וּ overpowered yiš·lə·ṭū הֵ֖מָּה those hêm·māh בְּשֹׂנְאֵיהֶֽם׃ who hated them . bə·śō·nə·’ê·hem Esther 9:2 בְּכָל־ In each bə·ḵāl מְדִינוֹת֙ of the provinces mə·ḏî·nō·wṯ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ of King ham·me·leḵ אֳחַשְׁוֵר֔וֹשׁ Xerxes , ’o·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš הַיְּהוּדִ֜ים the Jews hay·yə·hū·ḏîm נִקְהֲל֨וּ assembled niq·hă·lū בְּעָרֵיהֶ֗ם in their cities bə·‘ā·rê·hem לִשְׁלֹ֣חַ to attack liš·lō·aḥ יָ֔ד . . . yāḏ בִּמְבַקְשֵׁ֖י those who sought bim·ḇaq·šê רָֽעָתָ֑ם to harm them . rā·‘ā·ṯām לֹא־ No lō- וְאִישׁ֙ man wə·’îš עָמַ֣ד could withstand ‘ā·maḏ לִפְנֵיהֶ֔ם them , lip̄·nê·hem כִּֽי־ because kî- פַּחְדָּ֖ם the fear of them paḥ·dām נָפַ֥ל had fallen nā·p̄al עַל־ upon ‘al- כָּל־ all kāl- הָעַמִּֽים׃ peoples . hā·‘am·mîm Esther 9:3 וְכָל־ And all wə·ḵāl שָׂרֵ֨י the officials śā·rê הַמְּדִינ֜וֹת of the provinces , ham·mə·ḏî·nō·wṯ וְהָאֲחַשְׁדַּרְפְּנִ֣ים the satraps , wə·hā·’ă·ḥaš·dar·pə·nîm וְהַפַּח֗וֹת the governors , wə·hap·pa·ḥō·wṯ לַמֶּ֔לֶךְ and the king’s lam·me·leḵ וְעֹשֵׂ֤י administrators wə·‘ō·śê הַמְּלָאכָה֙ . . . ham·mə·lā·ḵāh אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer מְנַשְּׂאִ֖ים helped mə·naś·śə·’îm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַיְּהוּדִ֑ים the Jews , hay·yə·hū·ḏîm כִּֽי־ because kî- פַּֽחַד־ the fear pa·ḥaḏ- מָרְדֳּכַ֖י of Mordecai mā·rə·do·ḵay נָפַ֥ל had fallen nā·p̄al עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ upon them . ‘ă·lê·hem
