הַזָּהָ֑ב the gold haz·zā·hāḇ שַׁרְבִ֣ט scepter šar·ḇiṭ לְאֶסְתֵּ֔ר toward Esther , lə·’es·têr אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ אֶסְתֵּ֔ר and [she] ’es·têr וַתָּ֣קָם arose wat·tā·qām וַֽתַּעֲמֹ֖ד and stood wat·ta·‘ă·mōḏ לִפְנֵ֥י before lip̄·nê הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ the king . ham·me·leḵ Esther 8:5 אִם־ “ If ’im- עַל־ it pleases ‘al- ט֜וֹב . . . ṭō·wḇ וְאִם־ . . . wə·’im- הַמֶּ֨לֶךְ the king , ” ham·me·leḵ וַ֠תֹּאמֶר she said , wat·tō·mer מָצָ֧אתִי “ and if I have found mā·ṣā·ṯî חֵ֣ן favor ḥên לְפָנָ֗יו in his sight , lə·p̄ā·nāw הַדָּבָר֙ and the matter had·dā·ḇār וְכָשֵׁ֤ר [seems] proper wə·ḵā·šêr לִפְנֵ֣י to lip̄·nê הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king , ham·me·leḵ אֲנִ֖י and I ’ă·nî וְטוֹבָ֥ה am pleasing wə·ṭō·w·ḇāh בְּעֵינָ֑יו in his sight , bə·‘ê·nāw יִכָּתֵ֞ב may an order be written yik·kā·ṯêḇ לְהָשִׁ֣יב to revoke lə·hā·šîḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַסְּפָרִ֗ים the letters has·sə·p̄ā·rîm מַחֲשֶׁ֜בֶת that the scheming ma·ḥă·še·ḇeṯ הָמָ֤ן Haman hā·mān בֶּֽן־ son ben- הַמְּדָ֙תָא֙ of Hammedatha , ham·mə·ḏā·ṯā הָאֲגָגִ֔י the Agagite , hā·’ă·ḡā·ḡî כָּתַ֗ב wrote kā·ṯaḇ לְאַבֵּד֙ to destroy lə·’ab·bêḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַיְּהוּדִ֔ים the Jews hay·yə·hū·ḏîm אֲשֶׁ֖ר - ’ă·šer אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בְּכָל־ in all bə·ḵāl הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ the king’s ham·me·leḵ מְדִינ֥וֹת provinces . mə·ḏî·nō·wṯ Esther 8:6 כִּ֠י For kî אֵיכָכָ֤ה how ’ê·ḵā·ḵāh אוּכַל֙ could I bear ’ū·ḵal וְֽרָאִ֔יתִי to see wə·rā·’î·ṯî בָּרָעָ֖ה the disaster bā·rā·‘āh אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- יִמְצָ֣א would befall yim·ṣā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַמִּ֑י my people ? ‘am·mî וְאֵֽיכָכָ֤ה How wə·’ê·ḵā·ḵāh אוּכַל֙ could I bear ’ū·ḵal וְֽרָאִ֔יתִי to see wə·rā·’î·ṯî בְּאָבְדַ֖ן the destruction bə·’ā·ḇə·ḏan מוֹלַדְתִּֽי׃ס of my kindred ? ” mō·w·laḏ·tî Esther 8:7 הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ So King ham·me·leḵ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֹשׁ֙ Xerxes ’ă·ḥaš·wê·rōš וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer לְאֶסְתֵּ֣ר to Esther lə·’es·têr הַמַּלְכָּ֔ה the Queen ham·mal·kāh וּֽלְמָרְדֳּכַ֖י and Mordecai ū·lə·mā·rə·do·ḵay הַיְּהוּדִ֑י the Jew , hay·yə·hū·ḏî הִנֵּ֨ה “ Behold , hin·nêh נָתַ֣תִּי I have given nā·ṯat·tî הָמָ֜ן Haman’s hā·mān בֵית־ estate ḇêṯ- לְאֶסְתֵּ֗ר to Esther , lə·’es·têr וְאֹתוֹ֙ - wə·’ō·ṯōw תָּל֣וּ and he was hanged tā·lū עַל־ on ‘al- הָעֵ֔ץ the gallows hā·‘êṣ עַ֛ל because ‘al אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- שָׁלַ֥ח he attacked šā·laḥ יָד֖וֹ . . . yā·ḏōw בַּיְּהוּדִיִּים׃ the Jews . bay·yə·hū·ḏī·yīm Esther 8:8 וְ֠אַתֶּם Now you wə·’at·tem כִּתְב֨וּ may write kiṯ·ḇū הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ in the king’s ham·me·leḵ בְּשֵׁ֣ם name bə·šêm כַּטּ֤וֹב as kaṭ·ṭō·wḇ בְּעֵֽינֵיכֶם֙ you please bə·‘ê·nê·ḵem עַל־ regarding ‘al- הַיְּהוּדִ֜ים the Jews , hay·yə·hū·ḏîm וְחִתְמ֖וּ and seal it wə·ḥiṯ·mū הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ with the royal ham·me·leḵ
