אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- מְלָא֥וֹ would mə·lā·’ōw לִבּ֖וֹ . . . lib·bōw לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת devise la·‘ă·śō·wṯ כֵּֽן׃ such a scheme? ” kên Esther 7:6 אֶסְתֵּ֔ר Esther ’es·têr אִ֚ישׁ . . . ’îš וַתֹּ֣אמֶר־ replied , wat·tō·mer- צַ֣ר “ The adversary ṣar וְאוֹיֵ֔ב and enemy wə·’ō·w·yêḇ הַזֶּ֑ה is this haz·zeh הָרָ֖ע wicked man — hā·rā‘ הָמָ֥ן Haman ! ” hā·mān וְהָמָ֣ן And Haman wə·hā·mān נִבְעַ֔ת stood in terror niḇ·‘aṯ מִלִּפְנֵ֥י before mil·lip̄·nê הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ וְהַמַּלְכָּֽה׃ and queen . wə·ham·mal·kāh Esther 7:7 בַּחֲמָתוֹ֙ In his fury , ba·ḥă·mā·ṯōw וְהַמֶּ֜לֶךְ the king wə·ham·me·leḵ קָ֤ם arose qām מִמִּשְׁתֵּ֣ה from drinking mim·miš·têh הַיַּ֔יִן his wine hay·ya·yin אֶל־ and went to ’el- הַבִּיתָ֑ן the palace hab·bî·ṯān גִּנַּ֖ת garden , gin·naṯ וְהָמָ֣ן while Haman wə·hā·mān עָמַ֗ד stayed behind ‘ā·maḏ לְבַקֵּ֤שׁ to beg lə·ḇaq·qêš הַמַּלְכָּ֔ה Queen ham·mal·kāh מֵֽאֶסְתֵּ֣ר Esther mê·’es·têr עַל־ for ‘al- נַפְשׁוֹ֙ his life , nap̄·šōw כִּ֣י for kî רָאָ֔ה he realized rā·’āh כִּֽי־ that kî- הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ the king ham·me·leḵ כָלְתָ֥ה was planning ḵā·lə·ṯāh הָרָעָ֖ה a terrible fate hā·rā·‘āh מֵאֵ֥ת . . . mê·’êṯ אֵלָ֛יו for him . ’ê·lāw Esther 7:8 וְהַמֶּ֡לֶךְ Just as the king wə·ham·me·leḵ שָׁב֩ returned šāḇ הַבִּיתָ֜ן from the palace hab·bî·ṯān מִגִּנַּ֨ת garden mig·gin·naṯ אֶל־ to ’el- בֵּ֣ית׀ the banquet hall bêṯ מִשְׁתֵּ֣ה . . . miš·têh הַיַּ֗יִן . . . , hay·ya·yin וְהָמָן֙ Haman wə·hā·mān נֹפֵ֔ל was falling nō·p̄êl עַל־ on ‘al- הַמִּטָּה֙ the couch ham·miṭ·ṭāh אֲשֶׁ֣ר where ’ă·šer אֶסְתֵּ֣ר Esther ’es·têr עָלֶ֔יהָ [was reclining] . ‘ā·le·hā הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ The king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר exclaimed , way·yō·mer הֲ֠גַם “ Would he actually hă·ḡam לִכְבּ֧וֹשׁ assault liḵ·bō·wōš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמַּלְכָּ֛ה the queen ham·mal·kāh עִמִּ֖י while ‘im·mî בַּבָּ֑יִת I am in the palace ? ” bab·bā·yiṯ הַדָּבָ֗ר As soon as the words had·dā·ḇār יָצָא֙ had left yā·ṣā הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king’s ham·me·leḵ מִפִּ֣י mouth , mip·pî חָפֽוּ׃ס they covered ḥā·p̄ū הָמָ֖ן Haman’s hā·mān וּפְנֵ֥י face . ū·p̄ə·nê Esther 7:9 חַ֠רְבוֹנָה Then Harbonah , ḥar·ḇō·w·nāh אֶחָ֨ד one ’e·ḥāḏ מִן־ of min- הַסָּרִיסִ֜ים the eunuchs has·sā·rî·sîm לִפְנֵ֣י attending lip̄·nê הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ the king , ham·me·leḵ גַּ֣ם . . . gam וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said : way·yō·mer הִנֵּה־ “ There hin·nêh- הָעֵ֣ץ is a gallows hā·‘êṣ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- חֲמִשִּׁ֣ים fifty ḥă·miš·šîm אַמָּ֑ה cubits ’am·māh גָּבֹ֖הַּ high gā·ḇō·ah הָמָ֔ן at Haman’s hā·mān בְּבֵ֣ית house . bə·ḇêṯ הָמָ֟ן [He] hā·mān
