וַיִּיטַ֧ב pleased way·yî·ṭaḇ הָמָ֖ן Haman , hā·mān הָעֵֽץ׃פ and he had the gallows hā·‘êṣ וַיַּ֥עַשׂ constructed . way·ya·‘aś Esther 6:1 הַה֔וּא That ha·hū בַּלַּ֣יְלָה night bal·lay·lāh שְׁנַ֣ת sleep šə·naṯ נָדְדָ֖ה escaped nā·ḏə·ḏāh הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king ; ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֗אמֶר so he ordered way·yō·mer סֵ֤פֶר the Book sê·p̄er הַזִּכְרֹנוֹת֙ of Records , haz·ziḵ·rō·nō·wṯ דִּבְרֵ֣י the Chronicles diḇ·rê הַיָּמִ֔ים . . . , hay·yā·mîm וַיִּהְי֥וּ to be way·yih·yū לְהָבִ֞יא brought in lə·hā·ḇî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נִקְרָאִ֖ים and read niq·rā·’îm לִפְנֵ֥י to lip̄·nê הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ him . ham·me·leḵ Esther 6:2 וַיִּמָּצֵ֣א And there it was found way·yim·mā·ṣê כָת֗וּב recorded ḵā·ṯūḇ אֲשֶׁר֩ that ’ă·šer מָרְדֳּכַ֜י Mordecai mā·rə·do·ḵay הִגִּ֨יד had exposed hig·gîḏ עַל־ . . . ‘al- בִּגְתָ֣נָא Bigthana biḡ·ṯā·nā וָתֶ֗רֶשׁ and Teresh , wā·ṯe·reš שְׁנֵי֙ two šə·nê סָרִיסֵ֣י of the eunuchs sā·rî·sê מִשֹּׁמְרֵ֖י who guarded miš·šō·mə·rê הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king’s ham·me·leḵ הַסַּ֑ף entrance , has·sap̄ אֲשֶׁ֤ר when ’ă·šer בִּקְשׁוּ֙ they had conspired biq·šū לִשְׁלֹ֣חַ to assassinate liš·lō·aḥ יָ֔ד . . . yāḏ בַּמֶּ֖לֶךְ King bam·me·leḵ אֲחַשְׁוֵרֽוֹשׁ׃ Xerxes . ’ă·ḥaš·wê·rō·wōš Esther 6:3 הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ The king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר inquired , way·yō·mer מַֽה־ “ What mah- יְקָ֧ר honor yə·qār וּגְדוּלָּ֛ה or dignity ū·ḡə·ḏūl·lāh נַּעֲשָׂ֞ה has been bestowed na·‘ă·śāh לְמָרְדֳּכַ֖י on Mordecai lə·mā·rə·do·ḵay עַל־ for ‘al- זֶ֑ה this act ? ” zeh לֹא־ “ Nothing lō- דָּבָֽר׃ . . . dā·ḇār נַעֲשָׂ֥ה has been done na·‘ă·śāh עִמּ֖וֹ for him , ” ‘im·mōw וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ replied way·yō·mə·rū הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king’s ham·me·leḵ נַעֲרֵ֤י attendants na·‘ă·rê מְשָׁ֣רְתָ֔יו . . . . mə·šā·rə·ṯāw Esther 6:4 מִ֣י “ Who mî בֶחָצֵ֑ר is in the court ? ” ḇe·ḥā·ṣêr הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֥אמֶר asked . way·yō·mer וְהָמָ֣ן Now Haman wə·hā·mān בָּ֗א had [just] entered bā הַחִ֣יצוֹנָ֔ה the outer ha·ḥî·ṣō·w·nāh לַחֲצַ֤ר court la·ḥă·ṣar בֵּית־ of the palace bêṯ- הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ . . . ham·me·leḵ לֵאמֹ֣ר to ask lê·mōr לַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king lam·me·leḵ לִתְלוֹת֙ to hang liṯ·lō·wṯ אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- מָרְדֳּכַ֔י Mordecai mā·rə·do·ḵay עַל־ on ‘al- הָעֵ֖ץ the gallows hā·‘êṣ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- הֵכִ֥ין he had prepared hê·ḵîn לֽוֹ׃ for him . lōw Esther 6:5 הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ So the king’s ham·me·leḵ אֵלָ֔יו . . . ’ê·lāw נַעֲרֵ֤י attendants na·‘ă·rê וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ answered him , way·yō·mə·rū הָמָ֖ן “ Haman hā·mān הִנֵּ֥ה is there , hin·nêh עֹמֵ֣ד standing ‘ō·mêḏ בֶּחָצֵ֑ר in the court . ” be·ḥā·ṣêr יָבֽוֹא׃ “ Bring him in , ” yā·ḇō·w
