וַיָּבֹ֤א went way·yā·ḇō אֶל־ to ’el- הַמִּשְׁתֶּ֖ה the banquet ham·miš·teh אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- אֶסְתֵּֽר׃ Esther ’es·têr עָשְׂתָ֥ה had prepared . ‘ā·śə·ṯāh Esther 5:6 בְּמִשְׁתֵּ֣ה And as they drank bə·miš·têh הַיַּ֔יִן their wine , hay·ya·yin הַמֶּ֤לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer לְאֶסְתֵּר֙ to Esther , lə·’es·têr מַה־ “ What mah- שְּׁאֵלָתֵ֖ךְ is your petition ? šə·’ê·lā·ṯêḵ וְיִנָּ֣תֵֽן It will be given wə·yin·nā·ṯên לָ֑ךְ to you . lāḵ וּמַה־ What [is] ū·mah- בַּקָּשָׁתֵ֛ךְ your request ? baq·qā·šā·ṯêḵ עַד־ Even up to ‘aḏ- חֲצִ֥י half ḥă·ṣî הַמַּלְכ֖וּת the kingdom , ham·mal·ḵūṯ וְתֵעָֽשׂ׃ it will be fulfilled . ” wə·ṯê·‘āś Esther 5:7 אֶסְתֵּ֖ר Esther ’es·têr וַתֹּאמַ֑ר . . . wat·tō·mar וַתַּ֥עַן replied , wat·ta·‘an שְׁאֵלָתִ֖י “ This is my petition šə·’ê·lā·ṯî וּבַקָּשָׁתִֽי׃ and my request : ū·ḇaq·qā·šā·ṯî Esther 5:8 אִם־ If ’im- מָצָ֨אתִי I have found mā·ṣā·ṯî חֵ֜ן favor ḥên בְּעֵינֵ֣י in the sight bə·‘ê·nê הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ of the king , ham·me·leḵ וְאִם־ and if wə·’im- עַל־ it pleases ‘al- הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king ham·me·leḵ ט֔וֹב . . . ṭō·wḇ לָתֵת֙ to grant lā·ṯêṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שְׁאֵ֣לָתִ֔י my petition šə·’ê·lā·ṯî וְלַעֲשׂ֖וֹת and fulfill wə·la·‘ă·śō·wṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בַּקָּשָׁתִ֑י my request , baq·qā·šā·ṯî הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ may the king ham·me·leḵ וְהָמָ֗ן and Haman wə·hā·mān יָב֧וֹא come yā·ḇō·w וּמָחָ֥ר tomorrow ū·mā·ḥār אֶל־ to ’el- הַמִּשְׁתֶּה֙ the banquet ham·miš·teh אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֣ה I will prepare ’e·‘ĕ·śeh לָהֶ֔ם for them . lā·hem אֶֽעֱשֶׂ֖ה Then I will answer ’e·‘ĕ·śeh הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ the king’s ham·me·leḵ כִּדְבַ֥ר question . ” kiḏ·ḇar Esther 5:9 הַה֔וּא That ha·hū בַּיּ֣וֹם day bay·yō·wm הָמָן֙ Haman hā·mān וַיֵּצֵ֤א went out way·yê·ṣê שָׂמֵ֖חַ full of joy śā·mê·aḥ וְט֣וֹב and glad wə·ṭō·wḇ לֵ֑ב of heart . lêḇ הַמֶּ֗לֶךְ At the king’s ham·me·leḵ בְּשַׁ֣עַר gate, however , bə·ša·‘ar הָמָ֨ן [he] hā·mān אֶֽת־ - ’eṯ- וְכִרְאוֹת֩ saw wə·ḵir·’ō·wṯ מָרְדֳּכַ֜י Mordecai , mā·rə·do·ḵay וְלֹא־ who did not wə·lō- קָם֙ rise qām וְלֹא־ . . . wə·lō- זָ֣ע or tremble in fear zā‘ מִמֶּ֔נּוּ at his presence . mim·men·nū הָמָ֛ן And Haman hā·mān וַיִּמָּלֵ֥א was filled way·yim·mā·lê חֵמָֽה׃ with rage ḥê·māh עַֽל־ toward ‘al- מָרְדֳּכַ֖י Mordecai . mā·rə·do·ḵay Esther 5:10 הָמָ֔ן Nevertheless, Haman hā·mān וַיִּתְאַפַּ֣ק restrained himself way·yiṯ·’ap·paq וַיָּב֖וֹא and went way·yā·ḇō·w אֶל־ . . . ’el- בֵּית֑וֹ home . bê·ṯōw וַיִּשְׁלַ֛ח And calling for way·yiš·laḥ וַיָּבֵ֥א . . . way·yā·ḇê אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֹהֲבָ֖יו his friends ’ō·hă·ḇāw
