אֵ֖ת - , ’êṯ Esther 4:13 מָרְדֳּכַ֖י he mā·rə·do·ḵay וַיֹּ֥אמֶר sent back way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- אֶסְתֵּ֑ר [her] ’es·têr לְהָשִׁ֣יב this reply : lə·hā·šîḇ אַל־ “ Do not ’al- תְּדַמִּ֣י imagine that tə·ḏam·mî בְנַפְשֵׁ֔ךְ [because] you are ḇə·nap̄·šêḵ הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ in the king’s ham·me·leḵ בֵּית־ palace bêṯ- לְהִמָּלֵ֥ט you alone will escape lə·him·mā·lêṭ מִכָּל־ the fate of all mik·kāl הַיְּהוּדִֽים׃ the Jews . hay·yə·hū·ḏîm Esther 4:14 כִּ֣י For kî אִם־ if ’im- הַחֲרֵ֣שׁ you remain ha·ḥă·rêš תַּחֲרִישִׁי֮ silent ta·ḥă·rî·šî הַזֹּאת֒ at this haz·zōṯ בָּעֵ֣ת time , bā·‘êṯ רֶ֣וַח relief re·waḥ וְהַצָּלָ֞ה and deliverance wə·haṣ·ṣā·lāh לַיְּהוּדִים֙ for the Jews lay·yə·hū·ḏîm יַעֲמ֤וֹד will arise ya·‘ă·mō·wḏ אַחֵ֔ר from another ’a·ḥêr מִמָּק֣וֹם place , mim·mā·qō·wm וְאַ֥תְּ but you wə·’at אָבִ֖יךְ and your father’s ’ā·ḇîḵ וּבֵית־ house ū·ḇêṯ- תֹּאבֵ֑דוּ will perish . tō·ḇê·ḏū וּמִ֣י And who ū·mî יוֹדֵ֔עַ knows yō·w·ḏê·a‘ אִם־ if perhaps ’im- הִגַּ֖עַתְּ you have come hig·ga·‘at לַמַּלְכֽוּת׃ to the kingdom lam·mal·ḵūṯ לְעֵ֣ת for such a time lə·‘êṯ כָּזֹ֔את as this ? ” kā·zōṯ Esther 4:15 אֶסְתֵּ֖ר Then Esther ’es·têr לְהָשִׁ֥יב sent lə·hā·šîḇ וַתֹּ֥אמֶר this reply wat·tō·mer אֶֽל־ to ’el- מָרְדֳּכָֽי׃ Mordecai : mā·rə·do·ḵāy Esther 4:16 לֵךְ֩ “ Go lêḵ כְּנ֨וֹס and assemble kə·nō·ws אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- הַיְּהוּדִ֜ים the Jews hay·yə·hū·ḏîm הַֽנִּמְצְאִ֣ים who can be found han·nim·ṣə·’îm בְּשׁוּשָׁ֗ן in Susa , bə·šū·šān וְצ֣וּמוּ and fast wə·ṣū·mū עָ֠לַי for me . ‘ā·lay וְאַל־ Do not wə·’al- תֹּאכְל֨וּ eat tō·ḵə·lū וְאַל־ . . . wə·’al- תִּשְׁתּ֜וּ or drink tiš·tū שְׁלֹ֤שֶׁת for three šə·lō·šeṯ יָמִים֙ days , yā·mîm לַ֣יְלָה night lay·lāh וָי֔וֹם or day , wā·yō·wm אֲנִ֥י and I ’ă·nî וְנַעֲרֹתַ֖י and my maidens wə·na·‘ă·rō·ṯay גַּם־ - gam- אָצ֣וּם will fast ’ā·ṣūm כֵּ֑ן as you do . kên וּבְכֵ֞ן After that , ū·ḇə·ḵên אָב֤וֹא I will go ’ā·ḇō·w אֶל־ to ’el- הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king , ham·me·leḵ אֲשֶׁ֣ר even though ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ it is against lō- כַדָּ֔ת the law . ḵad·dāṯ וְכַאֲשֶׁ֥ר And if wə·ḵa·’ă·šer אָבַ֖דְתִּי I perish , ’ā·ḇaḏ·tî אָבָֽדְתִּי׃ I perish ! ” ’ā·ḇā·ḏə·tî Esther 4:17 מָרְדֳּכָ֑י So Mordecai mā·rə·do·ḵāy וַֽיַּעֲבֹ֖ר went way·ya·‘ă·ḇōr וַיַּ֕עַשׂ and did way·ya·‘aś כְּכֹ֛ל all kə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- אֶסְתֵּֽר׃ס Esther ’es·têr צִוְּתָ֥ה had instructed ṣiw·wə·ṯāh עָלָ֖יו him . ‘ā·lāw
