Esther 4:8 וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- נִתַּ֨ן Mordecai also gave [Hathach] nit·tan פַּתְשֶׁ֣גֶן a copy paṯ·še·ḡen כְּתָֽב־ of the written kə·ṯāḇ- הַ֠דָּת decree had·dāṯ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- נָ֣תַן issued nā·ṯan ל֔וֹ lōw בְּשׁוּשָׁ֤ן in Susa bə·šū·šān לְהַשְׁמִידָם֙ for the destruction [of the Jews] , lə·haš·mî·ḏām לְהַרְא֥וֹת to show lə·har·’ō·wṯ וּלְהַגִּ֣יד and explain ū·lə·hag·gîḏ אֶת־ to ’eṯ- אֶסְתֵּ֖ר Esther ’es·têr לָ֑הּ , lāh וּלְצַוּ֣וֹת urging ū·lə·ṣaw·wō·wṯ עָלֶ֗יהָ her ‘ā·le·hā לָב֨וֹא to approach lā·ḇō·w אֶל־ . . . ’el- הַמֶּ֧לֶךְ the king , ham·me·leḵ לְהִֽתְחַנֶּן־ implore his favor lə·hiṯ·ḥan·nen- ל֛וֹ , lōw וּלְבַקֵּ֥שׁ and plead ū·lə·ḇaq·qêš מִלְּפָנָ֖יו before him mil·lə·p̄ā·nāw עַל־ for ‘al- עַמָּֽהּ׃ her people . ‘am·māh Esther 4:9 הֲתָ֑ךְ So Hathach hă·ṯāḵ וַיָּב֖וֹא went back way·yā·ḇō·w וַיַּגֵּ֣ד and relayed way·yag·gêḏ מָרְדֳּכָֽי׃ Mordecai’s mā·rə·do·ḵāy דִּבְרֵ֥י response diḇ·rê לְאֶסְתֵּ֔ר to Esther lə·’es·têr אֵ֖ת - . ’êṯ Esther 4:10 אֶסְתֵּר֙ Then Esther ’es·têr וַתֹּ֤אמֶר spoke wat·tō·mer לַהֲתָ֔ךְ to Hathach la·hă·ṯāḵ וַתְּצַוֵּ֖הוּ and instructed him wat·tə·ṣaw·wê·hū אֶֽל־ to ’el- מָרְדֳּכָֽי׃ tell Mordecai , mā·rə·do·ḵāy Esther 4:11 כָּל־ “ All kāl- הַמֶּ֡לֶךְ the royal ham·me·leḵ עַבְדֵ֣י officials ‘aḇ·ḏê וְעַם־ and the people wə·‘am- הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ of the king’s ham·me·leḵ מְדִינ֨וֹת provinces mə·ḏî·nō·wṯ יֽוֹדְעִ֗ים know yō·wḏ·‘îm אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer אַחַ֤ת one ’a·ḥaṯ דָּתוֹ֙ law dā·ṯōw כָּל־ applies to every kāl- אִ֣ישׁ man ’îš וְאִשָּׁ֡ה or woman wə·’iš·šāh אֲשֶׁ֣ר who ’ă·šer יָבֽוֹא־ approaches yā·ḇō·w- אֶל־ . . . ’el- הַמֶּלֶךְ֩ the king ham·me·leḵ אֶל־ in ’el- הַפְּנִימִ֜ית the inner hap·pə·nî·mîṯ הֶחָצֵ֨ר court he·ḥā·ṣêr אֲשֶׁ֣ר without ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ . . . lō- יִקָּרֵ֗א being summoned — yiq·qā·rê לְהָמִ֔ית that he be put to death . lə·hā·mîṯ לְ֠בַד Only if lə·ḇaḏ מֵאֲשֶׁ֨ר - mê·’ă·šer הַמֶּ֛לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יֽוֹשִׁיט־ extends yō·wō·šîṭ- ל֥וֹ lōw הַזָּהָ֖ב the gold haz·zā·hāḇ שַׁרְבִ֥יט scepter šar·ḇîṭ וְחָיָ֑ה may that person live . wə·ḥā·yāh וַאֲנִ֗י But I wa·’ă·nî לֹ֤א have not lō נִקְרֵ֙אתי֙ been summoned niq·rē·ṯ לָב֣וֹא to appear lā·ḇō·w אֶל־ before ’el- זֶ֖ה the zeh הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ king ham·me·leḵ שְׁלוֹשִׁ֥ים for the past thirty šə·lō·wō·šîm יֽוֹם׃ days . ” yō·wm Esther 4:12 אֶסְתֵּֽר׃פ When Esther’s ’es·têr דִּבְרֵ֥י words diḇ·rê וַיַּגִּ֣ידוּ were relayed way·yag·gî·ḏū לְמָרְדֳּכָ֔י to Mordecai lə·mā·rə·do·ḵāy
