וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הָרָ֔גוּ They killed hā·rā·ḡū נְבִיאֶ֣יךָ Your prophets , nə·ḇî·’e·ḵā אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- הֵעִ֥ידוּ had admonished hê·‘î·ḏū בָ֖ם them ḇām לַהֲשִׁיבָ֣ם to return la·hă·šî·ḇām אֵלֶ֑יךָ to You . ’ê·le·ḵā וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֔וּ They committed way·ya·‘ă·śū גְּדוֹלֹֽת׃ terrible gə·ḏō·w·lōṯ נֶאָצ֖וֹת blasphemies . ne·’ā·ṣō·wṯ Nehemiah 9:27 וַֽתִּתְּנֵם֙ So You delivered them wat·tit·tə·nêm בְּיַ֣ד into the hands bə·yaḏ צָֽרֵיהֶ֔ם of enemies ṣā·rê·hem וַיָּצֵ֖רוּ who oppressed way·yā·ṣê·rū לָהֶ֑ם them , lā·hem וּבְעֵ֤ת and in their time ū·ḇə·‘êṯ צָֽרָתָם֙ of distress ṣā·rā·ṯām יִצְעֲק֣וּ they cried out yiṣ·‘ă·qū אֵלֶ֔יךָ to You . ’ê·le·ḵā מִשָּׁמַ֣יִם From heaven miš·šā·ma·yim וְאַתָּה֙ You wə·’at·tāh תִּשְׁמָ֔ע heard them , tiš·mā‘ הָֽרַבִּ֗ים and in Your great hā·rab·bîm וּֽכְרַחֲמֶ֣יךָ compassion ū·ḵə·ra·ḥă·me·ḵā תִּתֵּ֤ן You gave tit·tên לָהֶם֙ them lā·hem מֽוֹשִׁיעִ֔ים deliverers mō·wō·šî·‘îm וְיוֹשִׁיע֖וּם who saved them wə·yō·wō·šî·‘ūm מִיַּ֥ד from the hands mî·yaḏ צָרֵיהֶֽם׃ of their enemies . ṣā·rê·hem Nehemiah 9:28 וּכְנ֣וֹחַ But as soon as they had rest ū·ḵə·nō·w·aḥ לָהֶ֔ם , lā·hem יָשׁ֕וּבוּ they again yā·šū·ḇū לַעֲשׂ֥וֹת did la·‘ă·śō·wṯ רַ֖ע evil ra‘ לְפָנֶ֑יךָ in Your sight . lə·p̄ā·ne·ḵā וַתַּֽעַזְבֵ֞ם So You abandoned them wat·ta·‘az·ḇêm בְּיַ֤ד to the hands bə·yaḏ אֹֽיְבֵיהֶם֙ of their enemies , ’ō·yə·ḇê·hem וַיִּרְדּ֣וּ who had dominion way·yir·dū בָהֶ֔ם over them . ḇā·hem וַיִּזְעָק֔וּךָ When they cried out way·yiz·‘ā·qū·ḵā וַיָּשׁ֙וּבוּ֙ to You again , way·yā·šū·ḇū וְאַתָּ֞ה You wə·’at·tāh תִּשְׁמַ֛ע heard tiš·ma‘ מִשָּׁמַ֧יִם from heaven , miš·šā·ma·yim וְתַצִּילֵ֥ם and You delivered them wə·ṯaṣ·ṣî·lêm רַבּ֥וֹת many rab·bō·wṯ עִתִּֽים׃ times ‘it·tîm כְּֽרַחֲמֶ֖יךָ in Your compassion . kə·ra·ḥă·me·ḵā Nehemiah 9:29 וַתָּ֨עַד You admonished wat·tā·‘aḏ בָּהֶ֜ם them bā·hem לַהֲשִׁיבָ֣ם to turn back la·hă·šî·ḇām אֶל־ to ’el- תּוֹרָתֶ֗ךָ Your law , tō·w·rā·ṯe·ḵā וְהֵ֨מָּה but they wə·hêm·māh הֵזִ֜ידוּ were arrogant hê·zî·ḏū וְלֹא־ vvv wə·lō- שָׁמְע֤וּ and disobeyed šā·mə·‘ū לְמִצְוֺתֶ֙יךָ֙ Your commandments . lə·miṣ·wō·ṯe·ḵā חָֽטְאוּ־ They sinned ḥā·ṭə·’ū- בָ֔ם against ḇām וּבְמִשְׁפָּטֶ֣יךָ Your ordinances , ū·ḇə·miš·pā·ṭe·ḵā אָדָ֖ם by which a man ’ā·ḏām בָהֶ֑ם ḇā·hem וְחָיָ֣ה will live wə·ḥā·yāh יַעֲשֶׂ֥ה if he practices ya·‘ă·śeh אֲשֶׁר־ them . ’ă·šer- סוֹרֶ֔רֶת They stubbornly sō·w·re·reṯ וַיִּתְּנ֤וּ shrugged way·yit·tə·nū כָתֵף֙ their shoulders ; ḵā·ṯêp̄ הִקְשׁ֖וּ they stiffened hiq·šū וְעָרְפָּ֥ם their necks wə·‘ā·rə·pām וְלֹ֥א and would not wə·lō שָׁמֵֽעוּ׃ obey . šā·mê·‘ū Nehemiah 9:30 וַתִּמְשֹׁ֤ךְ You were patient wat·tim·šōḵ עֲלֵיהֶם֙ with them ‘ă·lê·hem רַבּ֔וֹת for many rab·bō·wṯ שָׁנִ֣ים years , šā·nîm בְּרוּחֲךָ֛ and Your Spirit bə·rū·ḥă·ḵā וַתָּ֨עַד admonished wat·tā·‘aḏ בָּ֧ם them bām בְּיַד־ through bə·yaḏ- נְבִיאֶ֖יךָ Your prophets . nə·ḇî·’e·ḵā וְלֹ֣א Yet they would not wə·lō הֶאֱזִ֑ינוּ listen , he·’ĕ·zî·nū וַֽתִּתְּנֵ֔ם so You gave them wat·tit·tə·nêm
