וְלֹא־ and failed wə·lō- זָכְר֤וּ to remember zā·ḵə·rū נִפְלְאֹתֶ֙יךָ֙ the wonders nip̄·lə·’ō·ṯe·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer עָשִׂ֣יתָ You performed ‘ā·śî·ṯā עִמָּהֶ֔ם among them . ‘im·mā·hem וַיַּקְשׁוּ֙ They stiffened way·yaq·šū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עָרְפָּ֔ם their necks ‘ā·rə·pām וַיִּתְּנוּ־ and appointed way·yit·tə·nū- רֹ֛אשׁ a leader rōš לָשׁ֥וּב to return them lā·šūḇ לְעַבְדֻתָ֖ם to their bondage lə·‘aḇ·ḏu·ṯām בְּמִרְיָ֑ם [in Egypt] . bə·mir·yām וְאַתָּה֩ But You wə·’at·tāh סְלִיח֜וֹת are a forgiving sə·lî·ḥō·wṯ אֱל֨וֹהַּ God , ’ĕ·lō·w·ah חַנּ֧וּן gracious ḥan·nūn וְרַח֛וּם and compassionate , wə·ra·ḥūm אֶֽרֶךְ־ slow ’e·reḵ- אַפַּ֥יִם to anger ’ap·pa·yim וְרַב־ and rich wə·raḇ- וְחֶסֶד in loving devotion , wə·ḥɛ·sɛḏ וְלֹ֥א and You did not wə·lō עֲזַבְתָּֽם׃ forsake them . ‘ă·zaḇ·tām Nehemiah 9:18 אַ֗ף Even ’ap̄ כִּֽי־ when kî- עָשׂ֤וּ they cast ‘ā·śū לָהֶם֙ for themselves lā·hem מַסֵּכָ֔ה an image mas·sê·ḵāh עֵ֣גֶל of a calf ‘ê·ḡel וַיֹּ֣אמְר֔וּ and said , way·yō·mə·rū זֶ֣ה ‘ This zeh אֱלֹהֶ֔יךָ is your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ’ă·šer הֶעֶלְךָ֖ brought you up he·‘el·ḵā מִמִּצְרָ֑יִם out of Egypt , ’ mim·miṣ·rā·yim וַֽיַּעֲשׂ֔וּ and when they committed way·ya·‘ă·śū גְּדֹלֽוֹת׃ terrible gə·ḏō·lō·wṯ נֶאָצ֖וֹת blasphemies , ne·’ā·ṣō·wṯ Nehemiah 9:19 וְאַתָּה֙ You wə·’at·tāh הָֽרַבִּ֔ים in Your great hā·rab·bîm בְּרַחֲמֶ֣יךָ compassion bə·ra·ḥă·me·ḵā לֹ֥א did not lō עֲזַבְתָּ֖ם forsake them ‘ă·zaḇ·tām בַּמִּדְבָּ֑ר in the wilderness bam·miḏ·bār אֶת־ - . ’eṯ- בְּיוֹמָם֙ By day bə·yō·w·mām עַמּ֣וּד the pillar ‘am·mūḏ הֶ֠עָנָן of cloud he·‘ā·nān לֹא־ never lō- סָ֨ר turned away sār מֵעֲלֵיהֶ֤ם vvv mê·‘ă·lê·hem לְהַנְחֹתָ֣ם from guiding them lə·han·ḥō·ṯām בְּהַדֶּ֔רֶךְ on their path ; bə·had·de·reḵ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- בְּלַ֙יְלָה֙ and by the night bə·lay·lāh עַמּ֨וּד the pillar ‘am·mūḏ הָאֵ֤שׁ of fire hā·’êš לְהָאִ֣יר illuminated lə·hā·’îr לָהֶ֔ם lā·hem וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַדֶּ֖רֶךְ the way had·de·reḵ אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer יֵֽלְכוּ־ they should go . yê·lə·ḵū- בָֽהּ׃ ḇāh Nehemiah 9:20 נָתַ֖תָּ You gave nā·ṯa·tā הַטּוֹבָ֔ה Your good haṭ·ṭō·w·ḇāh וְרוּחֲךָ֨ Spirit wə·rū·ḥă·ḵā לְהַשְׂכִּילָ֑ם to instruct them . lə·haś·kî·lām לֹא־ You did not lō- מָנַ֣עְתָּ withhold mā·na‘·tā וּמַנְךָ֙ Your manna ū·man·ḵā מִפִּיהֶ֔ם from their mouths , mip·pî·hem נָתַ֥תָּה and You gave nā·ṯat·tāh לָהֶ֖ם them lā·hem וּמַ֛יִם water ū·ma·yim לִצְמָאָֽם׃ for their thirst . liṣ·mā·’ām Nehemiah 9:21 וְאַרְבָּעִ֥ים For forty wə·’ar·bā·‘îm שָׁנָ֛ה years šā·nāh כִּלְכַּלְתָּ֥ם You sustained them kil·kal·tām בַּמִּדְבָּ֖ר in the wilderness , bam·miḏ·bār חָסֵ֑רוּ [so that] they lacked ḥā·sê·rū לֹ֣א nothing . lō שַׂלְמֹֽתֵיהֶם֙ Their clothes śal·mō·ṯê·hem לֹ֣א did not lō בָל֔וּ wear out ḇā·lū וְרַגְלֵיהֶ֖ם and their feet wə·raḡ·lê·hem
