לֹ֣א they would not lō עֲבָד֑וּךָ serve You ‘ă·ḇā·ḏū·ḵā וְֽלֹא־ . . . wə·lō- שָׁ֔בוּ or turn šā·ḇū הָרָעִֽים׃ from their wicked hā·rā·‘îm מִמַּֽעַלְלֵיהֶ֖ם ways . mim·ma·‘al·lê·hem Nehemiah 9:36 הִנֵּ֛ה So here hin·nêh אֲנַ֥חְנוּ we [are] ’ă·naḥ·nū הַיּ֖וֹם today hay·yō·wm עֲבָדִ֑ים as slaves ‘ă·ḇā·ḏîm וְהָאָ֜רֶץ in the land wə·hā·’ā·reṣ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- נָתַ֣תָּה You gave nā·ṯat·tāh לַאֲבֹתֵ֗ינוּ our fathers la·’ă·ḇō·ṯê·nū לֶאֱכֹ֤ל to enjoy le·’ĕ·ḵōl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- פִּרְיָהּ֙ its fruit pir·yāh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- טוּבָ֔הּ and goodness — ṭū·ḇāh הִנֵּ֛ה here hin·nêh עָלֶֽיהָ׃ - ‘ā·le·hā אֲנַ֥חְנוּ we [are] ’ă·naḥ·nū עֲבָדִ֖ים as slaves ! ‘ă·ḇā·ḏîm Nehemiah 9:37 מַרְבָּ֗ה Its abundant mar·bāh וּתְבוּאָתָ֣הּ harvest ū·ṯə·ḇū·’ā·ṯāh לַמְּלָכִ֛ים goes to the kings lam·mə·lā·ḵîm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- נָתַ֥תָּה You have set nā·ṯat·tāh עָלֵ֖ינוּ over us ‘ā·lê·nū בְּחַטֹּאותֵ֑ינוּ because of our sins . bə·ḥaṭ·ṭō·w·ṯê·nū מֹשְׁלִ֤ים And they rule mō·šə·lîm וְעַ֣ל over wə·‘al גְּ֠וִיֹּתֵינוּ our bodies gə·wî·yō·ṯê·nū וּבִבְהֶמְתֵּ֙נוּ֙ and our livestock ū·ḇiḇ·hem·tê·nū כִּרְצוֹנָ֔ם as they please . kir·ṣō·w·nām אֲנָֽחְנוּ׃פ We ’ă·nā·ḥə·nū גְדוֹלָ֖ה are in great ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh וּבְצָרָ֥ה distress . ū·ḇə·ṣā·rāh Nehemiah 9:38 וּבְכָל־ In view of all ū·ḇə·ḵāl זֹ֕את this , zōṯ אֲנַ֛חְנוּ we ’ă·naḥ·nū כֹּרְתִ֥ים make kō·rə·ṯîm אֲמָנָ֖ה a binding agreement , ’ă·mā·nāh וְכֹתְבִ֑ים putting it in writing wə·ḵō·ṯə·ḇîm וְעַל֙ and wə·‘al הֶֽחָת֔וּם sealing it with [the names of] he·ḥā·ṯūm שָׂרֵ֥ינוּ our leaders , śā·rê·nū לְוִיֵּ֖נוּ Levites , lə·wî·yê·nū כֹּהֲנֵֽינוּ׃ and priests . ” kō·hă·nê·nū Nehemiah 10:1 וְעַ֖ל Now wə·‘al הַחֲתוּמִ֑ים these [were the ones] who sealed [the document] : ha·ḥă·ṯū·mîm נְחֶמְיָ֧ה Nehemiah nə·ḥem·yāh הַתִּרְשָׁ֛תָא the governor , hat·tir·šā·ṯā בֶּן־ son ben- חֲכַלְיָ֖ה of Hacaliah , ḥă·ḵal·yāh וְצִדְקִיָּֽה׃ and also Zedekiah , wə·ṣiḏ·qî·yāh Nehemiah 10:2 שְׂרָיָ֥ה Seraiah , śə·rā·yāh עֲזַרְיָ֖ה Azariah , ‘ă·zar·yāh יִרְמְיָֽה׃ Jeremiah , yir·mə·yāh Nehemiah 10:3 פַּשְׁח֥וּר Pashhur , paš·ḥūr אֲמַרְיָ֖ה Amariah , ’ă·mar·yāh מַלְכִּיָּֽה׃ Malchijah , mal·kî·yāh Nehemiah 10:4 חַטּ֥וּשׁ Hattush , ḥaṭ·ṭūš שְׁבַנְיָ֖ה Shebaniah , šə·ḇan·yāh מַלּֽוּךְ׃ Malluch , mal·lūḵ Nehemiah 10:5 חָרִ֥ם Harim , ḥā·rim מְרֵמ֖וֹת Meremoth , mə·rê·mō·wṯ עֹֽבַדְיָֽה׃ Obadiah , ‘ō·ḇaḏ·yāh Nehemiah 10:6 דָּנִיֵּ֥אל Daniel , dā·nî·yêl גִּנְּת֖וֹן Ginnethon , gin·nə·ṯō·wn בָּרֽוּךְ׃ Baruch , bā·rūḵ
