לַעֲשֹׂ֥ת to make la·‘ă·śōṯ סֻכֹּ֖ת booths , suk·kōṯ כַּכָּתֽוּב׃פ as it is written . ” kak·kā·ṯūḇ Nehemiah 8:16 הָעָם֮ And the people hā·‘ām וַיֵּצְא֣וּ went out , way·yê·ṣə·’ū וַיָּבִיאוּ֒ brought back [branches] , way·yā·ḇî·’ū וַיַּעֲשׂוּ֩ and made way·ya·‘ă·śū לָהֶ֨ם . . . lā·hem סֻכּ֜וֹת booths suk·kō·wṯ עַל־ on ‘al- אִ֤ישׁ their own ’îš גַּגּוֹ֙ rooftops , gag·gōw וּבְחַצְרֹ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם in their courtyards , ū·ḇə·ḥaṣ·rō·ṯê·hem וּבְחַצְר֖וֹת in the court ū·ḇə·ḥaṣ·rō·wṯ בֵּ֣ית of the house bêṯ הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים of God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וּבִרְחוֹב֙ and in the squares ū·ḇir·ḥō·wḇ הַמַּ֔יִם by the Water ham·ma·yim שַׁ֣עַר Gate ša·‘ar וּבִרְח֖וֹב [and] ū·ḇir·ḥō·wḇ שַׁ֥עַר by the Gate ša·‘ar אֶפְרָֽיִם׃ of Ephraim . ’ep̄·rā·yim Nehemiah 8:17 כָֽל־ The whole ḵāl הַ֠קָּהָל assembly haq·qā·hāl הַשָּׁבִ֨ים who had returned haš·šā·ḇîm מִן־ from min- הַשְּׁבִ֥י׀ exile haš·šə·ḇî וַיַּֽעֲשׂ֣וּ made way·ya·‘ă·śū סֻכּוֹת֮ booths suk·kō·wṯ וַיֵּשְׁב֣וּ and lived way·yê·šə·ḇū בַסֻּכּוֹת֒ in them . ḇas·suk·kō·wṯ כִּ֣י . . . kî מִימֵי֩ From the days mî·mê יֵשׁ֨וּעַ of Joshua yê·šū·a‘ בִּן־ son bin- נ֥וּן of Nun nūn עַ֖ד until ‘aḏ הַה֑וּא that ha·hū הַיּ֣וֹם day , hay·yō·wm בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl לֹֽא־ had not lō- עָשׂ֡וּ celebrated ‘ā·śū כֵּן֙ like this . kên וַתְּהִ֥י And there was wat·tə·hî גְּדוֹלָ֥ה great gə·ḏō·w·lāh מְאֹֽד׃ mə·’ōḏ שִׂמְחָ֖ה rejoicing . śim·ḥāh Nehemiah 8:18 י֣וֹם׀ Day yō·wm בְּי֔וֹם after day , bə·yō·wm מִן־ from min- הָֽרִאשׁ֔וֹן the first hā·ri·šō·wn הַיּוֹם֙ day hay·yō·wm עַ֖ד to ‘aḏ הָאַחֲר֑וֹן the last , hā·’a·ḥă·rō·wn וַ֠יִּקְרָא Ezra read way·yiq·rā בְּסֵ֨פֶר from the Book bə·sê·p̄er תּוֹרַ֤ת of the Law tō·w·raṯ הָאֱלֹהִים֙ of God . hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־ The Israelites kept way·ya·‘ă·śū- חָג֙ the feast ḥāḡ שִׁבְעַ֣ת for seven šiḇ·‘aṯ הַיּ֣וֹם days , hay·yō·wm הַשְּׁמִינִ֛י and on the eighth haš·šə·mî·nî יָמִ֔ים day yā·mîm וּבַיּ֧וֹם . . . ū·ḇay·yō·wm עֲצֶ֖רֶת they held an assembly , ‘ă·ṣe·reṯ כַּמִּשְׁפָּֽט׃פ according to the ordinance . kam·miš·pāṭ Nehemiah 9:1 עֶשְׂרִ֨ים On the twenty-fourth ‘eś·rîm וְאַרְבָּעָ֜ה . . . wə·’ar·bā·‘āh וּבְיוֹם֩ day ū·ḇə·yō·wm הַזֶּ֗ה of the same haz·zeh לַחֹ֣דֶשׁ month , la·ḥō·ḏeš בְנֵֽי־ the Israelites ḇə·nê- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ . . . yiś·rā·’êl נֶאֶסְפ֤וּ gathered together , ne·’es·p̄ū בְּצ֣וֹם fasting bə·ṣō·wm וּבְשַׂקִּ֔ים and wearing sackcloth , ū·ḇə·śaq·qîm וַאֲדָמָ֖ה with dust wa·’ă·ḏā·māh עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ on their heads . ‘ă·lê·hem Nehemiah 9:2 יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Those of Israelite yiś·rā·’êl זֶ֣רַע descent ze·ra‘ וַיִּבָּֽדְלוּ֙ separated themselves way·yib·bā·ḏə·lū מִכֹּ֖ל from all mik·kōl בְּנֵ֣י the foreigners bə·nê
